  1. ...erm lets not go there with toilet paper
  2. there is a thread on 3rd party tyres for lego rims - a quick search will help you find it soon enough...
  3. 42039 - sticker across panels, and on the nice new flat silver ones too...! thankfully we can put them where we like or not at all
  4. link to the pics is gone.... already zapped by the lego legal team?
  5. Is it me or are the city sets more exciting this time round? The le mans style one is nicer than expected, but too green - the arctic truck is a winner... very risky and as mad a box of gerbils... welcome back to not playing it safe lego...! The buggy is a bit dissapointing but useful for parts and the smaller technic models are rather good for technic beginners...
  6. how about with an M motor and rechargeable box?
  7. Chassis is fine - would look better with custom RC huge non-lego Tyres if you're going to keep that cab.... otherwise lower the cab and give it some nice large wheel arches - aesthetics only - technically its perfect
  8. nothing wrong with exhaust steering - roof mounted is better for larger models but it works on the 8421 from the back so size isn't an issue.... the issue is disguising it and this does it well
  9. Great beast! but as ZBLJ says indeed tatras do not have portal axles, only the pinzgauer does along with a tatra like chassis. so this model is an improvement on the tratra 813!
  10. I took my good old 8860 apart (it had been on the shelves for many many years) caked in dust. I put the pieces in a netting bag and in the top drawer of the dishwasher (no dishes just lego) I then put it in a program that went no hotter than 40 degrees C for about 30 mins - NO DISH POWDER/tablet, i just used a squirt of degreaser (washing up soap liquid) (in effect a cold rinse as the program with the lowest heat was 50 degrees which I'm sure new lego will be ok with but not old 8860) the tyres came out best and the beams not too bad still some dust in the little holes Probably best to soak overnight and use a brush to clean each individual brick if you want it 100% clean - for removing general dirt, soak overnight and use the bag in a cold/warm rinse particularly good is a power shower in the bath direct on the model before dissassembly - then soaking in very warm water and soap - then dishwasher some say use the washing machine but the spinning will move the bricks against eachother and scratch the pieces I reckon
  11. No thats the service request if you have a missing part or a broken part or want to reorder some stickers.... http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Pick-A-Brick-11998?fromListing=listing
  12. exactly - only technic people buy technic whereas all sorts by the normal sets....
  13. anyone tried this with the Volvo Shovel up front?
  14. indeed lego is more a winter thing for me too - though with two young boys I leave the set buying up to them and I just end up with an unhealthy interest in bricklink before the winter starts proper after planning in my head in the summer
  15. looking good - remember the 2CV 'stance', is higher at the rear than the front (I used to have 4 2cvs at one time, at the same time too)
  16. I think that PS comment is more suited to a Private message - the day we bring politics into lego is a very sad one... while eurobricks forum let us enter whatever we want in that field people are going to use star wars places, harry potter places and the like ... confusing? not unless you're selling/buying somehting on Bricklink
  17. Very minimalist! like it a lot - reminds me of the front suspension on old RC buggys
  18. I'd have to disagree with that - if it was not intended to be played with then why to the entire model team range have functional steering, opening doors etc... Larger models perhaps may not be intended as a daily play things but model team were just the right size - it bridged the gap between vehicles that didn't steer and technic with big gaps everywhere this was the way to woo youngsters over to the technic side and nowadays with studless and body panels and more technic is the normal sets they feel they don't need to fill the gaps ?
