Lego King of the Hammers
Zerobricks replied to AndyCW's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Really well done! But do you really need diffs? I think normal locked axle would suffice. Also maybe use a 2 speed tranny, as 4 speed ones are less efficient.- 24 replies

Or use pneumatic pumps, they are less slow. -

I think those dampeners may be a bit slow? -
Limited Slip Differential
Zerobricks replied to Doc_Brown's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You can do something simillar by usng the old 14 tooth bewel gears in diff hosung instead of 12 tooth gears. But it will wear out a diff and gears a bit.- 66 replies

I used this soution on Power Puller wheels in my Tatra 8x8. It works good, but if you get dirt between those 8 tooth gears or turntable, the friction egts quite high! -

Looks really authentic. Good work Effe! -
Lego is meant for playing and building IMO, not to make a quick buck, especially if you get it for free! Have some respect.

New Prototype Crawler Axle
Zerobricks replied to z3_2drive's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Looks overcomplicated to me. You could use a 36 and 12 tooth gear, therebye elimenate the inefficient knob gears and the offset. -
Your parts wishlist
Zerobricks replied to skppo's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
A springs but instead of crossholes on each ends I would like the female towballs in a manner, so they atatch inside sideways. This way they cant pop out and you get great freedom for floating axles. -

Here's how i would do it with minimum amount of parts: The T shaped beam cans till be atatched via 1 pin, I forgot to add a second beam, but you get the idea. -

Cool! Looks really compact. I just hope the CV's will hold, they are prone to pop out.
