  1. I think The Wayne Manor set started in November, while The X-Mansion began just this February, and it already has around 9,000 supporters. Hopefully, that would count for something.
  2. Sorry, all. I may have been a smidge too harsh on the Black(BLUE)bird set. I'm just very (sob) sensitive when it comes to The X-Men. The designers do an excellent job making builds that have to fit within a price point. I should have said the set was planned poorly, not designed poorly. The Blackbird and Sentinel could each have been great enough to stand on their own. It's just that too much was crammed into one set, making both Sentinel and Blackbird mere shadows of what they could have been. Hell, I woulda settled for a Bionicle-type Sentinel. Throw in a Colossus big fig, Rogue, Gambit, and Archangel or something; The X-Men powerhouses. Instant win!
  3. The X-Jet set is a major let-down, especially for the price. Shoulda put more effort into the minifigures and done a better job on the jet, especially seeing what was done to make the quinet look so spectacular. That cheesy Sentinel is a waste of bricks. Seems like a cheap way to justify a $50 pricetag. It should have been designed better and sold as its own set.
  4. I love it! Great details, but not too many so that it looks cluttered. I'm glad that you went with the red leaves. I think it gives the tree a more dessicated look. Awesome build!
  5. I figure it's gonna be a cold day in Hel when Lego gets around to making some of my favourite Marvel characters, like Moon Knight, Havok, and Archangel. I have to get my Super Hero Minifigure fix somehow. That's where customs come in to play. I'm not sure how many customisers use knock off minifigure parts, but the sellers I frequent say they use official Lego parts for their customs.
  6. DC head honchos revealed recently that the upcoming Bats vs. Supes movie will not only include Cyborg, but will also be followed up by an honest to goodness Justice League flick. In 2017. Hopefully by then, TLG and DC have exhausted every possible Batman minifig and Batmobile variant so we can get to the rest of the DC Universe! I can't wait!!!!
  7. It's going to be tough finding room in the budget for this! I love the detail and play features. My focus is Super Heroes, but I warp that idea to include modulars because heroes and villains need a city in which to fight! My daughter's is Friends/Princesses, and my son really enjoys Castle sets. If Classic Space and Pirates are making a comeback as well, then I guess I'm gonna need a 2nd job!
  8. My kids n I love Lego. Wifey? Not so much. Her passive aggressiveness shows when she cleans. Our Lego area is a localized mess. However, it's only when Wifey decides to clean around the designated area that shit ends up mysteriously falling off the table. It leads to very..."spirited" discussion. I bit my tongue when the quinjet took a header. I had to draw the line when The Haunted House teetered on the literal brink of utter annihilation. We have now reached an understanding, and balance has been restored to our house.
  9. Wow! I'm amazed beyond the capacity for rational thought!
  10. Those are good points. At least there's the new Storm minifig and the GOTG sets out soon. As far as Batman goes, I really hope the '66 Bat mobile becomes a Lego reality. That was one of my first Corgi cars when I was a tyke. Someone on CUUSOO did a bang up job making an Adam West minifig cowl and Cesar Romero Joker minifig, painted-over mustache included. Phenomenal stuff!
  11. Batman 75 years! Even more Batman sets. Ghostbusters 30th anniversary! Incredible CUUSOO set fast tracked for June! (Thanks, BTW!) X-Men 50 years! Mediocre set that looks more like an afterthought when it could have been so much more.
  12. While some may be leery of expecting The Punisher, just remember Deadpool's Rated R antics. And he was in the first wave of Marvel Superheroes. In his set, he was accompanied by Wolverine, whose own favourite personal tagline is, "I'm the best there is at what I do, and what I do isn't very nice". I mean, Wolvie does use those claws for more than kabobs, bub. Then there's the other minifig in the set, Magneto, who has a less than savory history in The Marvel Universe as well. Drax from the upcoming GOTG Lego sets has skulls tattooed on his torso, but the minifig version of Drax has minifigurized skulls printed on his. So, all things considered, I wouldn't count out The Punisher as a minifig. I get the distinct impression that TLG figures kids have never been exposed to the violent source material on which these minifigs are based. Any figure could be made, IMO. I pray that TLG's plan is to eventually make every minifig and Bigfig as presented in The Marvel Super Heroes videogame.
  13. Man, does my Lego town need this! That broken TV pile is something else, especially the tv set with the broken screen. The funny thing is, it strongly reminds me of this place I walked by on my way to school as a kid. Very cool build!
  14. Wow. All three minifigs are incredible! I'm gonna have to find that torso you used for Rogers because that is perfect. Thanks for posting.
  15. Nightcrawler with a printed prehensile tail? How's he supposed to hold on to anything with that? Just kidding. Seriously though, I just used a blue twist tie that I modified with some well placed snips from a scissors and smooshed it between the torso and hip piece on the minifig. Functional AND poseable! It's able to hold a foil when Nightcrawler feels like swashbuckling, and can hang from his custom Danger Room gym. I'm very thankful for the posted pics for the GOTG sets. They are definitely must-buys for me! The sets look really well done, and the minifigs are designed very well! It's about time some Marvel minifigs get some flamin' leg printing. Unfortunately, it looks like the minifig love ends with the GOTG sets. The X-Men "Black"bird a welcome addition to my collection, but the pics do NOT help the look of that cheesy Sentinel. And Cyclops? It looks like a purist custom, not an official Lego product. He has next to no detail, and the whole set has the feel of something that was slapped together at the last minute, like, "Oh snap! Days of Future Past is coming out in May! Who forgot the design that Marvel requested to promo the movie? Johnson?!?" Johnson: "Erm...it's uh...RIGHT IN MY OFFICE! Lemme grab it...um...after my lunch break! Yeah, that's it." Johnson breaks several traffic laws driving home, and he and his 5 year old son spend the next 60 minutes feverishly throwing blocks together, and ta daaaaa. This is the result. Johnson did a good job with the X-Jet, but Johnson Jr. had problems with the Sentinel, not wanting to sacrifice any of his Hero Factory pieces for the cause. Thankfully, brown suit Wolvie with the cowl is fantastic!
  16. I can dig the turtle van, but I'm on the fence about the semi chase set. Decisions, decisions...
  17. This would be a dream come true if it's a good build! X-Men Days of Future Past is scheduled for release in May. While it would make sense for Lego to release an X-Men set then, I don't see that being the set the calendar refers to.
  18. Instructions! Must...have...instructions. I love Gundam, so fantastic job!
  19. Very intense detail! I love the plumbing running along the walls. Nice touch.
  20. No stealth suit rags. That's the Stars n Stripes on that bad boy! The Ultimates suit has to be my favourite! I'd love to see it in minifig form with arm and leg printing, new helmet.
  21. Excellent builds! They're detailed and have an good size. Not too big, but definitely look tough. I certainly get more of a mobile suit/mech vibe than a Transformers vibe from them.
  22. Very cool build! Great detail, and the lighting in the photo is the icing on the cake! Fantastic job all around.
  23. Freddy, you are a gentleman and a scholar. Couldn't have said it better myself.
  24. I hope the superhero minifigs start getting some leg printing. They look incomplete next to my other licensed minifigs. And, after seeing the CMF pretzel girl with the skirt, all it seems to do is inhibit the minifigs range of motion, and it doesn't look all that great either. I'd prefer Lego goes with the printed skirt from now on.
