Yeah, I saw that portion of the pic. Thus, my frustration. If the photographer would have turned his/her head about 5° to the right, we would have a better shot of The Milano and the Marvel minifigs on display right in front of it.

Yay. Out of all the pics that could have been posted, we get yet another shot of the same Bat-sets, and it's not even a good one.

Man, Killer Moth is one of my kids' favourite villains in the Lego Batman videogame. I think it has a spunky color scheme and is a nice contrast to Batman's "black...and sometimes very, very dark grey" color palate.

Are there any more toy fairs coming up besides NY's? I was hoping we would see more of the Marvel Summer sets soon.

This is a good review. Maybe too good! I really had no interest, at all, to get this set. Then I saw the movie tonight, and I was still on the fence about it. Fortunately, I read this review. Looks like I'm gonna have to make a late night run to Walmart to buy a set and see what it's all about. Thanks for the review!

Lego Movie Western Emmet (Game Stop pre-order exclusive)
Colossus replied to Solscud007's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Naturally, I found out too late about this presale to score the exclusive GameStop Emmet. These minifigs are going for $25 on eBay so far. -
A-haw-some!

Vision's skin is red in his first comic book appearance. It's unfortunate that Marvel (a comic book publisher) and Lego think that Superhero sets based on COMIC BOOK CHARACTERS won't sell. When we were all kids, we bought Lego sets because they were fun to build and cool to look at, not because they were based on cheesy Saturday morning cartoons.

I know, right? It's nice not to have to buy a whole Batman set to get the one new DC Minifig. Of course, you have to drop $75 to get just the Martian Manhunter. Luckily, I've been planning on picking up The Parisian Restaurant modular sometime soon anyway.

I'm a huge Marvel fan, and I gotta say the Quinjet is a mighty fine set. As far as DC sets go, I'm SO tired of Batman. Despite this, The Joker's Hideout is tons or fun, more so for my kids. They love that set!

Honestly, I have never been a fan of the purist superhero minifigs. Until now! Those Rogues look fantastic!

Tutorial How to: DIY decals
Colossus replied to mkeller234's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Wow! I really like those new spacesuit designs! Excellent work! -
The Rock as John Stewart Green Lantern?!? Wow. I would have gone with Michael Jai White for that role. He has the acting chops, the build, and the attitude to make GL Stewart the ring slinger for the big screen. Back on topic. I would hope that LEGO learns from the last fiasco ( the "random" exclusive minifig giveaway at SDCC), and scraps the idea entirely and offers the minifigs as a PREVIEW, maybe to create some positive buzz about the minifigs before they are released in sets to the general public.

I get the impression from the creators that they never intend to have more than 8 or so minifigs in the set. The creators just included the 38+ X-Men in Minifigure form so that voters can make an informed decision about which characters they would want included in the set. I, for one, think that the Angel minifig looks totally amazeballs in his red duds, and those Chima wings look spectacular on him. In regards to the mansion, it looks like the creators left a lot of room for customization. The more detail the better for me.

It probably won't make it on CUUSOO, but should the project reach 10k, then maybe LEGO would see there's a demand for this set and cook up something. If they do so, I pray that it's more than a glorified facade like The Arkham Asylum, and more like the size and level of detail to match or surpass The Simpson's House.

I have a gut feeling that LEGO has something (relatively) big planned for GL. With the exception of Green Arrow, all of the classic JLA'ers have been released. Now, to skip GL and give out a B-Lister like The Manhunter as a promo has me thinking LEGO has special plans for him. Maybe a 3-in-1 set with Sinestro and trans-green and yellow pieces? That would be really interesting.

Check out the custom Hawkman minifigs on eBay US and they will give you an idea. A couple look pretty well done, but not for $40-50 USD. Word. No chains, no 1970's disco collar, no steel tiara and afro, then forget it! I understand this a kids toyline, but throw us AFOL's a bone every once in awhile.

Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary CUUSOO set Discussion

When my daughter wiggles like that, it usually means she has to use the bathroom. Yikes. -
It seems like nowadays, there's a new Minifigure customizer popping up on either the net or on eBay pretty frequently. With that in mind, I'm praying someone does a good representation of one of my all time favourites, DC's Blue Devil! Now, I'm not talking about the relatively recent black T-shirt and blue jeans version. I'm talking the blue and gold outfit from the '80's that includes the flared collar, wristbands, and cuffed boots. I figure someone's already made Firestorm, Booster Gold, and Blue Beetle, so it's just a matter of time!

Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary CUUSOO set Discussion
Colossus replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in LEGO Licensed
I was really hoping for LEGO to include the Ghostbusters HQ. Perhaps including a Mr. Walter Peck from The EPA Minifig so I could reenact my favourite Peter Venkman scene from the movie. "Yes, it's true. This man has no BRick." -
OK, I'm not sure which forum to ask, but I stumbled upon a post about a gentleman named Brian Copper that engineered a large (2 foot tall) skeleton to build gigantic mechs, then showed how to cover them in various skins to make Voltron, Mazinger, and many Gundams. He sold copies of his instructions at some point, but I keep finding only dead ends. A search of this entire forum reveals nothing. Does anyone have any leads? thank you!

I recently stumbled across this old thread on the 'net about a.gentleman named Brian Cooper and this gigantic LEGO skeleton that he engineered to build these 2-foot tall mechs. The great thing is, he sold instructions for the skeleton and how to cover it with a custom skin. I mean Voltron, Mazinga, and Gundams out the wazoo. I did further research, but I keep running into dead ends.I can find only some pics on Flickr. A search on this entire forum reveals nothing. Anyone have any leads? Thank you!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 Rumors & Discussion
Colossus replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
That's true! Now how do I explain to the boss that I just sprayed a mouthful of coffee on my keyboard? Having said that, I really dig the ACTUAL designs they went with for the movie. Raph has got to be the most badass I've seen him yet. As far as Shredder is concerned, I like the rusty, no frills, no polished chrome visual.
