  1. I can imagine the lego guys thought about all of those ideas but left it open to us to make any changes/modifications. Excellent work guys. H
  2. Happy New Year one and all and happy building throughout the year. H
  3. Excellent! Good functions and colour scheme. I like the lights. Those pneumatics bits used on the out riggers look familiar. Are they the older pneumatic parts that take only one tube? H
  4. Nice. Very good. I like the colours and the functions. The whole model is well thought out. H
  5. Probably the only way would be to use a motor from a current RC copter and wrap it in lego and take it from there. I'm sure it can be done and the lego team are probably monitoring our ideas etc on this site so look out for an official lego RC copter. H
  6. Hello again at this late hour (00.50am, UK time) A bit of a breakthrough. I've used wedge belt wheels (LDraw no 4185) to mount my drive train for the gears and transmission drive section and it's almost perfect. Less friction between the parts. Very interesting. H
  7. Hi, I'm back. Almost there. I made the moc up in the video (above) and got a result in that one gear, the left as you look at it, remained still as required but the right hand gear rotated when not engaged. I noticed though that the drive train, once joined by axle joiners, is slightly mis aligned. The second axle turns and I can imagine that it will be hitting the gear whilst turning inside it. if that makes sense. Basically I think the problem is one of friction from the axle through the gear. There's more testing to be done I think. H
  8. Looks like a neat build. Good colour scheme and mechanics. Look forward to the complete model. H
  9. Hi, I've just watched that video myself on youtube. If you look closely at about 20sec in you'll see that the right axle gear turns when the ring is in neutral position. That's my problem but more extreme as it spins at full speed. I will try that set up tomorrow and see. Thanks H
  10. Yep. I use a axle joiner (not sure what the correct name is), then the red switchover part sits on top. I understand that the red piece should spin and engage the dark grey gears, which are non spinning, thus resulting in movement and so on. I've just found a element list. Axle joiner, with a transmission ring on top, two 16 tooth gears (non clutch) at either side of the ring. As i understand it, the transmission ring should spin whilst the two gears remain static and only spin once engaged by the transmission ring. Problem I have is the gears are spinning once the motor is switched on. H
  11. Non for me. But I did get some Unimog parts, pneumatic set and wheels, in November to add to my parts collection. Was hoping to get the logging truck but funds did not allow this time. No matter. I don't really need an excuse to buy lego nowadays. I'm looking to purchase some new parts in the coming days. To those who got sets, well done, enjoy and a big hug to those who bought them for you. H
  12. Hi, The phone is an investment in my future, which if it works out means I will be able to buy many many technic lego sets. Then it occured to me that maybe I could use the camera to show my models as well. We will see. I will be able to watch all those youtube vids of lego mods whilst in the kitchen cooking, cleaning or when in the bath. Now back to lego technic. H
  13. Good post! I was hoping I could afford that model but alas it was not to be...yet! Anyway, your post has just helped me solve a query. Thanks H
  14. As part of my career plans I am investing in an iphone 4S. Anyone know how the camera is for taking pics of lego? H
  15. Hi, Now then. The only problem I have now is that the two dark grey gears, not sure of the correct name, that should engage when you move the lever spin all the time. This results in everything working at once. Which we don't want. How can I stop it? They are not supposed to engage (spin) until I switch them over. H
  16. Yep. It's available in Leeds at £79.99. I have plans for my own F1 model. H
  17. Excellent! I just watched the video. Love the landing gear and the thruster movements. I've always struggled to build aircraft with my lego but after seeing the new helicopter and now this i'll be having a go soon.
  18. The pinball table is pretty good too! Very clever. H
  19. Hi All, I'm enjoying looking at pictures of your modifications and ideas. Hope to grab a bargain camera in the sales and start posting some of my own. H
  20. What the!!!! My family have always commented on how much lego I have but I have nothing like this (ref: Blakbird collection). Now I can show them that my passion for lego is ok. What the!!!! What the!!!! Hang on a minute. It's christmas and it's payday for me tomorrow. Seeing all these lego parts is making me re-think what I should spend my monthly salary on. I have a choice: 1: Christmas stuff, you know, presents, turkey and a book 2: My other passion in life. Crisps and Chocolates (Walkers crisps of course) 3: Lego. And lots of it. I have some serious thinking to do.
  21. Yep. Technic is my thing but I started with a horse and carriage set back in the late seventies. Mother bought it me to shut me up. It had the minifigure without moving arms and legs. It was a few years before I got another set as money was always short but I was already hooked. Hoping to get a camera soon and add some pics.
  22. Hello, It's me, in the UK. Hope to get a digital cam soon and post some images. Back in the world of lego after a few years. Re discovering ideas. There's a lot to learn and endless models to make. H
