I like the functionality of the technic design but without losing the lego feel and familiarity :)

Middle-Earth Madness - Mount Doom vs Lothlórien [Week 4]
gazumpty replied to Blakstone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Lothlórien as I feel Mount Doom can already be achieved from the Mordor sets -
I really like what you have achieved with the tight constraints of the small house. The ground floor is excellent and really well planned I would like to see a plate tiled roof I think, if you can achieve a good slate tiled effect that can be removed between your gable walls. Can't wait to see it brick built....great job!!

I love all your 4w...reminds me of a simpler, more classic time. Though your MOC's are so detailed and beautifully put together just seeing the red stud wheels makes me smile!

[mini MOCs & MODs] Who the #@/! shrank my collection!
gazumpty replied to Nom Carver's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Excellent work! I agree the AT-AT seems a wee bit off due to the size of it's legs! I would love to see a mini scaled battle scene with multiples of these builds involved! -
This is one of my favourite topics at the moment...love your updates. I was going to say that your street-scaping needs work to bring it all to life but you have really cracked on with it and its all coming together brilliantly!

Wow this is brilliant...I agree the red colour could do with being toned down a wee bit...maybe add some detail to the roof in another muted colour. But what a great present...I'd be chuffed if I got all those bricks

This is a nice looking layout...I would love to see the park landscaped a wee bit more, maybe with some more trees and mounding, and street details.
-
I really like the colour scheme and the alternative type of entrance....would love to see this next to other modulars to see how it relaes and what the streetscape would be like!

Thanks Luke and Cecilie....I went a bit mad on BL and basically bought all of one sellers Trans-Clear parts and I was over the moon when the white flowers were one of the PAB at the Glasgow store. Still got to go fill up my free box from the Xmas offers. Maybe treat myself to the Parisian Restaurant while I'm at it!

Nice work increasing the size and scale of the 60060! I like its more meatier design and looks like it could handle some proper lego vehicles. How sturdy are your support props during transit? Is the top deck solid?

Wow fantastic work Kristel...you have really captured the New York feel and architecture in your build. I love the interior details too...kudos to your daughters input too

Thanks guys....I appreciate the feedback. Thanks I want to try and bring a narrative to each of my builds...it's the 10 year old Lego kid that still lives inside me Ha...I know, though I'm going to need some inspiration to start my next MOC. I was hoping to have a crack at my first modular. Thanks, the stained glass was originally built to try and depict a cross in it...but I felt the more random selection and placement of colours suited the look! High praise from one of my favourite MOC'ers on EB....any suggestions on what type of modular I could try...bare in mind it will be my first attempt at one

Wow...this looks fantastic! Time to raise the funds! Now I really only need one kidney....

LEGO parts made of Chinese plastic?
gazumpty replied to Henchmen4Hire's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Hmmm I smell the scent of a cheap and nasty troll -
Wow this was worth waiting for the pics to work...what a great wee MOC. Love to see this in orange or red :D

When I came out of my Dark Ages, I felt that the I wouldn't be interested in any of the LOTR sets until I got the Weathertop set discounted on Amazon. I was instantly sold on the build details and techniques and have added more of the range to my collection. I only buy them discounted though, as I believe the licensed markup does not justify the cost in buying brand new. Also in a kind of side note, i also bought some of the Lone Ranger stuff (I have no interest in the film or the tv series) as I really liked the quality of the buildings and the train!

This is great wee scene...love the family of orcs taking 2 minutes to themselves at Xmas :D

This is looking really good so far, I can't wait to follow its progress!

Wow...this is brilliant. The architecture has been designed down to a tee. I love the use of the tan elements to detail your facade, especially the tan minfig legs at the window framing. You must have hit the BL stores hard for all those non-conventional tan pieces!

I love the work on the lines and detail of each vehicle. Really ingenious to use the, ski part?, as the mudguards. I envy those those who build great minfig scale cars that look so real.... grrr at you EROL lol

Really nice details and some cool build techniques. I really like 'retro' long cabinet and the glass coffee table!
