Happy New Year EB folks!!! I hope everyone had a good break over the holidays and got all the Lego they wanted from Santa! After entering my first proper MOC creation for the 'Extend the WInter Market' Contest (see - http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=89673) I decided to continue building around it to form a Winter Scene for over the holidays. I am always inspired by the work done by all the EB members on here, and with all the really kind comments on my competition entry, I thought it was about time I gave something back. So I present to you....'Preparing for Christmas'. Its a few days before the local Christmas party and preparations are in full swing. As the ice sculpting approaches it conclusion, Santa arrives with his crack squad of holiday elves to add the finishing touches to the tree. First a quick overall view of the scene. The obligatory top down view The organiser of the festivities, Father Fitzbrickle, waves a hello to a local helping to clear the snow from the church grounds. Inside the church it warming up in preparation for the midnight service and carol singing. A sneaky peek inside the church. A local "myth" sits down to enjoy his own Christmas treat. The delivery from Santa has been left for unloading (the local station marked by a vintage flag from its past) The elves working hard to ensure everything is delivered , with a wee helping hand from some locals. The village square is beginning to fill up with all sorts of Holiday nonsense The nativity scene and ice sculpting is the backdrop to old McTavish's version of 'Silent Night' on his bagpipes! The local constabulary struggles to control his police dog as a local cat gets a wee bit too curious of all the presents! Thanks for having a gander at this creation, I hope you enjoyed it. As always, Comments & Critiques definitely welcome...so please let me know what you guys think!

Love your work on the emergency vehicles. The only thing you may need to watch out for is the use of the standard over-scaled wheels...They seem to large for your smaller units and don't seem to work on the tender unit. On the Mustang....Simply yes!!!

I love this...wee desktop background now :)
-
Very nice work here....I love the way you have designed and built the lake and mixed in the standard tree elements with your own MOC trees. Its a very rich and beautifully constructed scene :)

This looks really nicely done...with some coo, interior work and details. As a guy who gre up with 'The Simpsons' this will take place on the shelf next to my BTTF DeLoren!
-
Nice job..maintained their character and design really well

Nice work...I love your work on making the official and more often than not 'too big' set work! it's got a great classic feel to it!

This is a brilliant piece of design and the build work is flawless :) I hope the TLG at some point release similar styled half modulars that meet this brilliant standard!!

This is a really nicely put together design and build :) good work!

Thanks viracocha...unfortunately I only have the standard green :) it's my first tree so maybe with some bricklink orders I'll have a oh at different build styles :)

Thanks guys...the tree probably had the most 'complete redesigns'...you see I just build while I design. :)

Absolutely brilliant...I live all the 'mini' details and the interchanging of the 4 modules is brilliant. Good luck in the contest!

Wow...this is brilliant....I love the idea of all the lego minfigs of the last few years all cutting loose for the festive season :D

Really ingenious work to fit all 4 into the 16x16 space...this is the sort of design that exploits a restricted space. Good work and good luck! Really ingenious work to fit all 4 into the 16x16 space...this is the sort of design that exploits a restricted space. Good work and good luck!
