  1. Hey neim...wee hello from another EB newbie
  2. Cool...I love to see 4 stud vehicles. This is really great work. My first attempts at MOC & MOD will be to create vehicles so I will be pinching some of your wee ideas here...and hopefully bricklink the parts I see here
  3. Amazing work from all the winners...and everyone that entered!! Plus great contest from EB...inspiring a newbie here to get off his bum and enter the next one
  4. Muahahahaaa Cheers Big Cam
  5. Thanks PsyKater :D ...I've just popped my 'Bricklink' cherry for some replacement parts from some of these sets...partly due to damage (teeth mostly ) and I would reckon the hoover too . So ill definitely have the sets ready for when I could start in the Academy...hope its soon...need something to keep me busy over the festive period
  6. Hi there Raptor....from one EB newbie to another!
  7. Hey the Academy guys Im looking to contribute to the amazing EB Review Index and I want to follow the course before I start contributing. I have recently dusted off and began cleaning and restoring Town sets from the mid to late 80s. There are lots that have yet to be reviewed...6385 Fire Station, 6392 Airport, 6380 Hospital, 6381 Motor Speedway to name but a few. I would like to involve my review process with the restoration work that may be required, to bring these sets to the EB community. I hope I get the chance
  8. Hehe...don't worry, we architect's don't judge how people style their homes
  9. Love it.... beautiful setting and captured the sinister mood perfectly!
  10. Need to finish sorting out my old Lego...may the restoration work commence!!

  11. Hey there reficul from one EB Newbie to another....your gonna love it here! Brick On and "Gie it Laldie!"
  12. Hey Capt' Flint... Great work, I do like the way you have detailed the landscaping, it really sets the mood for the piece. Though my personal fave is the the detailing on the Coach and the wee curtains peeking out from the inside. Love it! Good Luck with your entry Brick On and "Gie it Laldie!"
  13. Hey Merry....sharing the love here from another EB newbie!! Brick On and "Gie it Laldie!"
  14. Excellent work Stebai, I love the way you have conveyed a simple yet effective architecture to the church...plus adding the snow I've been looking at some great Lego Churches as a wee help towards making my wife (who isn't convinced by my darkest Lego love ) a microfig scaled model of our wedding church for our Anniversary. I may be pinching some of your techniques here...love it!! Brick On and "Gie it Laldie!!"
  15. Indeed....the priority buildings for a 'Scottish' village would have the pub, chip shop etc ....long before the fire and police department. Sorry Lego but I need less of those sets
  16. Thanks for the link. My only comment to value would be to weep :( when I convert USD prices to GBP and realise the massive difference :( The UK retail market makes me sad...don't take my Lego away :(
  17. Hey lightningtiger :) amazing work! I love the scale of your designs and how they not only embrace a sense of realism, but also capture the qualities of the classic town sets of the 80s. Your posts are filling my wee head with so many MOC n MOD ideas for when I tackle my collection.
  18. Welcome from another EB Newbie :)
  19. Thanks Commander Law :) just this second finished stage 1 of emerging from the Dark Ages...organising what lego I have :)
  20. Right....well...It's been nearly 15 years since I have lifted a 'Lego' brick in anger and now that I have almost completed my Part 3 Studies to become an Architect, I now have time to rediscover the passion I had for those beautiful pieces of moulded joy . It was during the building and rebuilding and improving of 'Classic' Town sets that I realised that I wanted to do this for real...with actual buildings! So thank you 'Lego' for starting my architectural career! I stumbled across Eurobricks after looking for a list of sets that I have and what was going on currently in the world of 'Lego'. I love the Modular series of buildings and the way Lego is getting away from that period of having too many large parts in their sets. After a few wee eBay purchases...some CITY vehicles and an X-Wing that I never had as a kid, I felt it was time to get out the 'Old School' classic sets. I noticed in the EB Review Index, a lot of the sets I have, have not been reviewed....so I reckon I'll enroll in the Reviewers Academy and get on with gaining that qualification . Plus I also want to attempt to 'MOD' (I think this is the correct terminology) these older sets and make them fit into the new Modular style, while maintaining the elegant architecture of their 1980s-90s form. BTW...if some kindly soul could point me in the direction of the meanings of MOD MOC and WIP...I might feel less like a numpty when posting on this forum Another thing I hope to contribute, is to build minifig scale iconic 'Architecture' buildings, and try and stay faithful to what the original real-world architect was trying to achieve in his work, replicating it as close to, and as elegantly as possible in lego. I think this will be the most challenging and most rewarding of what I want to do with my 'Lego'. Plus I want to have something for my future (a few years to go yet) kids to take away and hopefully inspire them! Hope to chat with you guys soon....especially the EB legends that i always love to read about (Brickster, Rufus, LightingTiger, Bonaparte...to mention only a few). BRICK ON
