  1. Hilarious backstory, welcome to GoH Wolfwind! A piece of advice on taking pics of minifigs is to try to get a lower angle and to take pictures on a white sheet of paper in some shade outside (or on a cloudy day) Looking forward to what you can come up with!
  2. Most of what you've said here is spot on (the only thing I disagree with is that I'm not sure I can say I far prefer a good story to a good build) - excellent stories to go with the builds, almost more than the great builds themselves, are what make an RPG like this stand out. The game mechanics are an awesome story-provoking thing, and I'm quite looking forward to when I have a MRCA result to build! The rules could use a bit of reorganization and updating about now, but keep in mind that there is a very handy master index right here, which is what I always use when looking something up! This thread has been derailed a bit, though - maybe most of this conversation would belong more appropriately in the Introduction and Starting thread?
  3. Awesome build Kai! Perfect use of that floor technique here, and the stairs and story are excellent as well! The little details literally packed in the scene are what really take the cake though, from the bookshelf stacked with papers and chemical stuff, to the microscope, frog-boxes, and the catapult use! Loved that bit about the different kinds of LEGO gold pieces too!
  4. Another neat build, MKJ, those teeth pieces look great up right under the roof, and the ground texturing and door are well done too. The palm tree is the highlight of the build, though, even if I'm rather divided on it - on the one hand it is a great use of that technique and is a lot like some real palms, but on the other, it doesn't quite look right... maybe some more leaves on top would help? I think the problem is that the trunk doesn't get thinner nearer the top, but I can think of any other way to fix that right now Very nice work overall though!
  5. Very nice cabin MKJ, the angled walls are excellent, and the windows leaning out give it the ship feel (otherwise it would seem more like a study, probably! ), though I'm wondering what size this thing would be! The table and cabinets are superb, and that globe and the anchor are obviously awesome wherever they pop up!
  6. Excellent build, Elostirion, the activity comes across very well, and there are lots of great details all over - from the hole in the hull from the cannon shot, to the small stand for the guy working on it, to the cannon by the side and the wall in the background! The story is really hilarious as well though, especially this part
  7. Excellent rock-work and great job with the curve in the tree, Titus, this has got to be one of my favorite of your builds so far! A piece of advice would be to be careful not to overdo the stalks - a few more olive leaves a little more ground texture would have looked better here.
  8. Nice little ship Faladrin, but what really stands out here is your brickbuilt fishing rod - brilliant use of that lance piece! The use of that net here is excellent as well, and good job with the minifigs and their poses! Even if this isn't your third freebuild, here's a for you!
  9. Neat little build Titus, the rounds in the base are excellent, and the activity is well done too! The first picture is quite nice as well, the shape looks much better than an oddly long rectangle (like the next pic ). The one thing left to do is to edit out the line in the background - which, if your top and bottom backdrops are the same color or very similar (as it appears in this case) is a very easy job in paint You've been improving anyhow, and that's a good thing!
  10. Just to let you all know that I haven't just stopped building lately... It has been finished, photographed, and destroyed - but I still need to edit the pictures with appropriate backgrounds and have a few other things to be doing before that (as well as a smallish build to make that precedes it story-wise), so you'll have to exercise a bit of that rare virtue of patience...
  11. Very nice outcome build Kai, as others have mentioned, the water is superb, and the broadsides - particularly on the Queen of Terelli - turned out excellently as well!
  12. Beautiful build MassEditor, the lush vegetation is all spot-on, and the tree is superb as well! I really love the way you wove that stone wall and the rock-work into the build, and the minifig activity is very real and well done! Glad to have you back!
  13. I hadn't commented on this yet? Excellent castle SK, as MassEditor said, you've pretty much perfected the use of that wall technique here! The 1x3 arches really help break the wall up and add some variation, and I'm with Kai on those lower window-slits! My only gripe with the build is that it tends for some reason to look a bit flat in some of the pics (particularly the first one here), but with the size it already is I'm sure it would be quite difficult to add some more to the sides! My collection of light grey would certainly be quite expended by that time (that's an understatement, actually! ) Great job on this one, and you've really set a high bar for phase three gatehouses!
  14. I agree with the others, great job integrating the coals into the build here! The hut is very nice as well, and the native chairs and headgear look, well, look about as normal as you can expect from these guys! Approved from the Eslandian leadership!
  15. Very nice marketplace here, and while I agree that some more activity would improve the build (a few bigger stands/shops would stop the build from looking so overpowered with cobblestones! ), what you do have here is great! And adding some more sections should help it out - looking forward to it! from the leadership!
  16. Very nice build Petric, love the peaceful feel here, and great use of Simon's water technique to get an overall beautiful color-scheme! Excellent job with the buildings and their interiors, and the little details all over really add to the build! The fishery and the pig trough are some of my favorite things here - keep it up!
  17. As Bregir said, I meant just to state what licence you were looking for when you originally posted the build on EB (or edit the post and add later it if your not sure, but before/when you licence it, not afterwards)
  18. Ha! When I saw that part at the end of the video I said to myself, "Now that was Simon S" Great job once again!
  19. Sail Ho! Off the Starboard Bow!

  20. Very nice wooden fortifications Capt. B, the brick-built cannon are good as well, and the soldiers do indeed blend in well with the surrounding vegetation! If you have any more the palm tree would be improved with more leaves though
  21. Excellent build and very nice story Captain G, the cleanness of the streets is a credit to the country, and the pools, flowers, and temple front are great as well! Great job with the minifig activity too, a good group of figs is always a bonus! The overview (as you mentioned) isn't the best though, you really need to get yourself a large sheet of glossed paper!
  22. Very nice story and builds, Bregir, Cooke's pose in the second build is particularly excellent, and the shot out bulls-eye is very clever! I must admit I did think Montoya was dueling a grave-stone for a minute though! Good job with the other build too, but it doesn't quite convey the intended result for me... filling in the left side up until the crop, and putting a few more wedges on the bottom right (and covering up that hole ) would vastly improve it! I do understand the lack of pieces though!
  23. I really liking your supervisor there Captain B, very nice field, and from the leadership!
  24. Why am I not very surprised? Welcome to the Brick Seas, Captain Morgan, though you've quite gone off and joined the wrong faction! Looking forward to hunting down your ship/s
