  1. A: Soccerkid, 2 points, Captain Flint, 1 point B: Gideon, 2 points, Bregir, 1 point C: Gideon, 2 points, Jacob Nion, 1 point Congrats to all the entrants though, there were some really good builds out there!
  2. Hilarious build, KB, love the gold being sucked up especially, and the minions following with the paperwork Very nice trees as well and pump as well, though!
  3. Very nice build Ayrlego, and congrats on your citizenship (now before you know it you'll be a Arch-Duke or something! ) The exterior is excellent (I particularly like the first story there! ), but the interior is very nice as well! It's nice to see our Corry neighbors building up their settlements!
  4. Very nice shipyard Captain Dee, and great way to start your BoBS building with a bang! I'm really liking all the activity and the ships parts lying around, and those cranes are excellent as well (once you figure out their not masts! ) Even if you don't need it!
  5. Awesome ship, KB, that hull technique is really superb, and the sail looks fantastic as well! You've definitely got my approval!
  6. Very nice building and group of figs, BO, and that chandelier is a great addition as well! I also like your use of that boat-hull for the roof, but I would agree with KB that tiling the bottom of it off would add to the build Keep it up!
  7. Excellent build Jacob Nion, the floor is superb (I'm going to have to steal borrow that sometime! ) , and the walls and furniture are fantastic as well! Great job with the fire and the figs too, and (as always!) I'm looking forward to the progression of the story!
  8. Very nice tower Jakorin, the Tudor section and roof are great, and the texturing does help relieve the wall (although it still does have a tad of the big grey wall syndrome) Cool figs and cobblestone road too, I'm looking forward to more of your city!
  9. Looks like I'm stuck with giving all the answers, eh? I thought a bunch of you guys were leaders too and supposed to understand this! Thanks, yes, that is what I meant! Easier question first: Yes, if you are squatting you will only have to pay half price for your for your licences since nothing is going to any faction. However, squatting on other factions territory is illegal, and squatting on unclaimed land is quite risky (if another faction ends up with the island you will quite likely loose your property). About taxes, no, every faction does have the 20% tax: See the other faction's threads for their rules (which are exactly the same ) Now for the more complicated one. First, everything is rounded up. This means that whenever a member of any faction (except the Sea Rats) buys a licence for a small residence, 3DBs goes to the faction, and only two go out of the game. However, when a Sea Rat builds a small residence, they will be paying 3DBs as well (you can't split a doubloon, at least not in the EGS ) Next, the yield is 2DBs neither before nor after the taxes but at exactly the same time, since it is merely created out of thin air. Individual Sea Rats do not earn 20% more because they do not have that mysterious ability which the factions leaders have to create DBs out of thin air I hope that makes sense, but if it does not I'll claim that it is just hidden game mechanics
  10. No! And here I thought at least Corries could do math! When you spend money on a licence you aren't making (that is, earning) anything, so the faction only gets half the price of the licence. Whenever you build something, or reap the profit from your licences - then the 20% tax comes in
  11. The 50% is the half of the cost of the licence which goes to the faction. The 20% is a tax on what you earn. The 50% of the licence is paid for by the player, but the 20% tax on what they earn is not. Does that make any more sense? (See, its the Sea Rats who don't know their math! )
  12. Actually, it's worse than you think The 20% does get vaporized from thin air, but besides that half o' the price of the licences goes to the empire Oh, and 20% of 100 is not 50, by the way! Boy, is your title ever so spot on! (Keep it up though because it really is hilarious! )
  13. Very nice build Kai, the fountain, statue, and carriage are superb, and the cotton field and house - especially the bottom story - are excellent as well! Great job with the minifigs too, and the photography is very good!
  14. I don't know where the extra 10 DBs came from (do you have some Oleon salary?), but Bregir and Titus is right about the 20% tax However! However anything above the original 20% does come out of the players' pockets! So don't go and raise your taxes to over 9000% percent unless you want the whole nation of Oleanders hanging from their toes on palm trees!
  15. Excellent job with both the exterior and interior of the house (though I'm not too great a fan of unattached tiles), and the landscaping is superb as well! I particularly like the pigs' area and the broken down stone wall, but great job all around!
  16. Good question! No one else want to be part of the greatest and best trade company around? What exactly is wrong with everyone Ahem! We are the richest, biggest, and best, but in terms of members we are rather lacking, actually We do need some more people to share the gold with though, so all ye Eslandolianderians, hop on over!
  17. Very nice build CA, the collapsed timber looks good (especially the work with the leaves ), and the foliage in the background is excellent as well! I would suggest putting some tan wood where the ax was hitting the tree to spice it up a bit, and maybe some more texture in the foreground. Oh, and avoid those apple trees, unless you what Felipe de la Manzana going and blowing your settlement to pieces some fine day!
  18. Excellent backdrop and really superb rock-work LJ, and those beasties and the water are fantastic as well! Great job all around!
  19. Great pirate ship Kwatchi, the color-scheme is excellent, and the details all over are not less so! A couple of my favorite details would be the stern and your anchor Your jib looks awfully long, but the other sails look pretty nice to me My main piece of advice would be to try to tiles the deck and railing if possible, along with some of the other places where studs are visible
  20. Excellent build Kai, awesome well, and very nice buildings, but the road certainly does steal the show! Great job with the photography as well, and I do like the background on that first pic
  21. Thanks all! Ha, ha, thanks Mr Greeble! The wings were a bit complicated, but I was really happy with how they turned out! Thank you! If you're referring to any information about the winners, no, not yet Thanks BrickCurve, and yes, the Wright brothers do seem to be an under-MOCed topic! I might have gone with the stems, but I was actually kind of tired of placing those things on so many builds! Thanks again!
  22. I believe it was decided that there would not be a February port list since it is still pretty much the same as it was in January
  23. Excellent sloop Ayrlego, great job with the hull shaping, and those sails and the hatch are quite nice as well!
  24. Neat build and great recreation of CB4's ship KB, I really like those light blue sails, and the speech bubble works quite well (at least IMHO) The leak is excellent too, even though it might not be very practical with real bricks!
