Book II - Nocturnus: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Orange Leader replied to ZCerberus's topic in Guilds of Historica
I'm thinking once again on joining GoH @ Nocturnus. Just a few questions: Is it better to join Book 3 or just join right away? The first tasks like building a watch tower from Book 1, can you still enter those as a new member? I also want to admit that it's a lot of text, even though I try to read all the stickied topics. -
Latest impact of other themes on historic themes

Thanks for the tip, MAB! I just ordered 5 Hunter Hats from the Dutch PaB, along with Nightwing Armor (6206331), Dark Tan Dragon Wings/Mynock Wings (6195496) and the Winter Station Clock (6195246) among some other pieces. I think the aforementioned pieces might be helpful for Castle MOCer's. -
They are all amazing!

Very nice take on the alternative-model-back-on-the-box (AMBOTB)! I could not remember that one when I got this set back then. -

Ooh, that Deathstar II and Star Destroyer shining through the atmostphere is a very nice detail! -
I wanted to build for quite some time a multiple legged mecha. And ofcourse it had to be a Blacktron I version!
-
Very cute, I like how they both come with their own radar dish and accessory.
-
Amazing. I have to take some time viewing all those details and loose builds later.

Latest impact of other themes on historic themes
Orange Leader replied to Wardancer's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Hogwarts Great Hall is just wonderful and I can't wait to view it's inventory. I'm now more so excited of the rumored huge Hogwarts Castle set. If it's even better with the Castle parts then the Great Hall, I might have to buy a LEGO set that is beyond my price limit of €200,- and start up saving and adjusting my LEGO purchases for this year. -

Those are some excellent tutorials you guys made! I might to try and experiment with the last one, the 8x8 octagonal tower. -
Great redux of the original! I like all the details, especially those black palmtree with trans. red cone for siren lights.

LEGO Nexo Knights 2018
Orange Leader replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
It was more of addressing a reminder (however, a snide one now that I read it back. Sorry.) from my perspective to a small group of Castle fans that still despise NK after years of release for being a Castle placeholder, by finally after two and a half years calling it a failure. Well guess which of both themes lasted longer to consider it a failure by that definition? That was the context. If people would say the second year was a failure, I could have understand that. But saying that about the theme as a whole, is just plain bitterniss. You mean those themes in recent times or back in the 80's and 90's, right? I do not believe in filler sets. If it could have sold more, it would continue. The timing of Castle 2013 was unfortunately not the best with the LotR and The Hobbit theme around. My impression was that both Ninjago and NK had the same LEGO age demographic, kind of cannibalizing though. I don't understand people's complaining about NK being aimed at younger builders opposed to Ninjago. It is something I read a lot on AFOL fora. As if Ninjago is such a maturely sophisticated LEGO theme.- 1,601 replies

I like this idea of having different 'Snow' Speeders! Blacktron is one of my favourite themes and I like the setup of this MOC. My suggestion is to tone it down with the light grey on the wings. It should be used for greebling and other small mechanical details that don't have a black plate to cover up for Blacktron IMHO. The rear grill for example is fine.

*LEGO theme carries on for two and a half years.* "It's a failure." You know what a failure by that definition is? "Castle 2013"- 1,601 replies

I thought the article "Reversing the creative process" was very interesting! I still read not everything, though I learned some more about the MILS system.

Yet no one seems to be bothered with your post. I wonder for a long time why and what arguments are against this.

Some very nice greebling there, the lights make it stand out even more so!

Thanks for the heads up! I had no idea there are minifigures that actually have good light on dark printing. However, in my opinion, TLG should get this together with every factory they print their bricks on. In the end, consumers should not have to buy another minifigure (keychain) to get the definitive version of said minifigure. The yellow/white/tan printing on a dark colour is troublesome to the very least. Minifigures with great designs suffers because of this.

LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion
Orange Leader replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I finished the GGG Shark Mech and it really looks amazing on display alone! Very good mechanical details and shape of a white shark, the Piranha Mech is great as well. Some days ago I bought Jay's Lightning Jet, Ninjago City Chase and Manta Ray Bomber as well. The baddies in this theme alone make it worth collecting as an underwater LEGO theme. -
Cool and menacing looking buggy! Blacktron aproved!
