What if the Classic Space theme extended all the 1990s? I made this using underrated pieces from that era. Includes launching tower, crane rover, landing pad, cargo ship, a manned rocket and Lab area. 4x4 container gimmick. 1028 pieces from the 90s era. Hello again Eurobricks! I present you the review of a rare LEGO set from 2001 Life on Mars series - or even 3 sets in one box, to be precise: Alien Discovery by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr They are two promotional (Double Hover and Rover) and one "common" (Red Planet Cruiser) sets. Life on Mars is one of my favorite LEGO series. Its main idea is interesting even in our times - humans and Martians do not fight but live in peace and harmony. Besides, this series was very rich in rare colors and uncommon parts, and it can be viewed as the primogenitor of all LEGO walking mechs. This set (being "new" and sealed, of course) was a birthday present from my friend. It was a very pleasant surprise for me, as now I have got almost all Martian sets from the series. So, let's go! Or, as Tenth Doctor says, allons-y! Box The box looks unusual, as it has slots for lesser boxes with sets inside: Alien Discovery Box by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Such "3 in 1" packs were sold only in America. The depicted astronaut says that it was a set of special value. This minifigure, the silhouette of Mars and the red background create the atmosphere of distant space and scientific discoveries which was iconic for this series. The back side of the box has the set images and the LEGO Club advertisement: Alien Discovery Box Back by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr The ad looks unusual for Europeans as it was targeted at American consumers. It should also be noted that the green background has the blueprints of a completely different Life on Mars set - Recon Mech RP. The big box without small ones looks like a photo frame: Alien Discovery Box Without Small Boxes by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Different sides of the big box: set images, a Club ad and warnings: Alien Discovery Box Sides by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Three little boxes viewed separately: Alien Discovery Set Boxes by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr They have the images of the sets on the red Mars background. Written names and pieces counts indicate that this is the American version. The back sides of the promo set boxes have combined Life on Mars posters, and the box of Red Planet Cruiser depicts its functionality: Alien Discovery Set Boxes Back Sides by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Different sides of the boxes: Alien Discovery Boxes Sides by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr The Red Planet Cruiser pilot is named on the box (Altair), while the other minifigures are not. Instructions and Booklets The cover of Red Planet Cruiser instruction: Red Planet Cruiser Instruction by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr On the first pages, the construction begins: Red Planet Cruiser Instruction First Page by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr The back cover has all basic sets from Life on Mars in boxes: Red Planet Cruiser Instruction Back Cover by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr The instructions for smaller sets are folded sheets of paper: Double Hover and Rover Instructions by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Their back sides are absolutely identical: Double Hover and Rover Instructions Back Sides by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr In both promo sets, these small posters are included (I don't remember which poster corresponds to which set). One poster depicts three Martians (Altair, Canopus and Cassiopeia), and another one depicts more Martians and the Assistant: Life on Mars Posters by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr There is nothing on their back sides. Besides the posters, all sets have such advertisements (they are identical, and here both sides are shown): LEGO 2001 Ads by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr The profiles to attain LEGO Club membership in North America (US and Canadian flags are depicted): LEGO Club Ads by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Minifigures Each set has one minifigure. Totally there are three figures: two Martians and one Earthling: Alien Discovery Minifigures English by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr The name of the Double Hover Martian is unknown. He has the same face as Vega, but his body and legs are colored differently, which is atypical for the series. He is one of three nameless Martians included only in promo sets. This Martian can be found only in Double Hover. On the other hand, we know the name of Red Planet Cruiser pilot - Altair. He is a Martian child. He likes listening to weird music and flying at high speed. His name means "the flying eagle", very much like the name of Altair star. His eyes are larger and cuter than Vega's, and his face has nostrils and freckles. Altair is also the only Martian with hair - he has a very funny red forelock! This figure is unique for 7311. The Assistant is an unnamed crew member of the human starship called Solar Explorer. He wears a futuristic spacesuit and a helmet with a blue visor. His face with glasses and a microphone is standard for that years. It's amazing how his bare hands withstand Martian cold weather (-40 degrees Celsius!), or he wears yellow gloves. This Assistant figure was present in two promo sets. The version included in basic 7310 set has a chrome blue visor. For my entire life I thought that Altair's suit is yellow - it looked yellow in photos and comics from Samodelki magazine. This is not true since Altair's body and legs are lime, and this can be easily seen if you bring a human minifigure: Altair Is Not Yellow! by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr The Assistant has no print on his back: Alien Discovery Minifigures Back by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr From his back he looks like some fantasy knight: Space Knight? by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr But from his front he doesn't: Assistant and Grand Marshal by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Sets Let's move to the main part of the review - namely to the sets. There are three of them - Double Hover, Rover and Red Planet Cruiser: Alien Discovery Sets by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Rover Rover by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Number 7309 (other versions: 7300, 1413). The Rover represents nothing special - just a small vehicle with an ore detector. Behind the pilot here are an antenna and two side holders, one of which is occupied by the locator. The Rover is controlled by an ordinary steering wheel: Rover by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr The wheels are placed on spinning Technic pins: Rover Wheel Construction by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr The Rover without pilot: Rover Without Pilot by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Double Hover Double Hover by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Number 7310 (other versions: 7301, 1414). The Double Hover is as small and simlple as the Rover, yet it looks more exotic, because it is a Martian invention. It's something like a hovering scooter or sleigh: Double Hover Back by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr The pilot holds the handles, upon which the printed control panel is attached. The set has no stickers at all - the round part under which the engine is apparently located is printed too. The color scheme is the same as in Red Planet Cruiser (it will be shown later) - green, sand green and a bit of orange. The "ski" of Double Hover can be lifted. Apparently the pilot can use this to regulate the altitude: Double Hover Engine Lift by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr "Obey me, Earthlings!" Obey Me! by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Without the pilot, the Double Hover doesn't look so beautiful: Double Hover Without Pilot by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Red Planet Cruiser Red Planet Cruiser by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Number 7311. The Cruiser is the biggest set in this box and the only one that belongs to the common set line. It is the smallest of the "usual" Life on Mars Martian sets. It's hard to understand why this vehicle is called Cruiser - it doesn't look like one. It's a weird one-legged hybrid between a mech and a flyer: Red Planet Cruiser by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr It's hardly understandable how he moves. By jumping? Or is the leg needed only to push off the ground and later fly on jet engines? This leg is particularly flexible due to three joints (larger mechs have only two of them). The problem is that it's difficult to pose the Cruiser without falling. But it can crawl like a caterpillar, for instance: Red Planet Cruiser Caterpillar by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr "Forward, to the stars!" To The Stars! by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr The leg can be straightened to turn this weird mech into a small flyer: Red Planet Cruiser Flying by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr In this mode, it flies with two wing-based jet engines. Probably there is the third engine inside the leg. The round piece with flame image is the Cuiser's symbol and isn't included in other sets, except for accessory pack. The cruiser's cockpit is open and has manipulators on its sides. Most likely they are sensors and scanners, but the orange dish may be a weapon: Red Planet Cruiser Cockpit by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr The Cruiser from the bottom: Red Planet Cruiser Upside Down by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr This model has pleasant colors. Grey and sand green with small inclusions of green and orange look good. The cockpit without the pilot: Red Planet Cruiser Without Pilot by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr It can be seen that the control panel is attached to the similar part as Martian arms, but grey. The Cruiser contained several extra parts (extra droid and Martian arms mistakingly are not shown here but still were present): Red Planet Cruiser Extra Parts by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr The Cruiser can be united with the Double Hover, and they look like one vehicle (this was Artlego's idea): Red Planet Cruiser With Double Hover by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Red Planet Cruiser, Double Hover and other Martian flyers: Martian Aircraft by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Rover, Cruiser and Double Hover among other Martian mechs (7314, 7316 and 7317): Martian Mechs (With Rover) by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr I need only Red Planet Protector (7313) for the full Martian collection. Pros/Cons Pros: + Special value, 3 sets in 1 box + Good color scheme + Rare minifigures + Mobility of Red Planet Cruiser and Double Hover + No stickers Cons: - Weird Red Planet Cruiser design - Simple Rover design - Hard to find Thank you for reading and watching! If you like the review, please, leave a comment. The author will be glad to hear your opinions. And if someone wonders why I'm doing these reviews, I'll answer that this is for history.

I thought for some bit about getting 42110. As a car enthusiast and MOC builder, I have always loved the Technic manufacturer cars, owning the Arocs, Porsche, Bugatti, and even the Corvette. All those sets wielded me some very useful pieces to make future MOCs with. However, the Land Rover set doesn't seem like a good buy for me... I have a lot of Lego already. It's expensive. I'm not into Land Rover, even though I think the new Defender is cool. The pieces. The lockable differential and the new wheels are the only pieces that I can find use with, and there's not many good ideas I have for green MOCs. I thought about getting the Porsche 911 RSR instead because of its white pieces, but the fenders have prints. So I guess I'll take a pass on both cars, what is your opinion on the new Defender set?

For Mission to Mars I decidd to build more of a classical machine - a six wheeled rover. I was heavily inspired by the upcoming Mars 2020 mission (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mars_2020) and wanted to integrate a drone inside the model. First thing to build were the foldable Rocker-bogie suspension arms, which is unfolded with pneumatics Each bogie featurs a steerable front wheel which is steered using a worm gear mated to a small turntable. Drive power is carried through the turntable to the front wheel. The rear wheels are on their own bogie and are driven by a combiantion of Cv and universal joints: A longitudinal differntial is used on each drivetrain which allows for the speed differences between front and rear wheels when steering. Differential is especially required when steering at 90 degree steering angle, since the rear wheels do not turn at all. A driven differential is used to level the both sides of the suspension arms: Differential allows for the movement of suspension and keeps the body leveled. A single M motor is used to adjust the leveling angle via a worm gear. Suspension in action: In order to unfold the rover, a pneumatic compressor was installed near the front of the body: The same compressor also powers 4 small pneumatic cylinders which open up the tops sides of the rover: A large actuator lifts the base of the 3D camera (placeholder for Wi-Fi camera) on the top and reveals the propeller "drone" inside the rover: Since most rovers include some kind of an arm to dig and check samples, I decided to equip mine with claws. They are able to pick up and lift with the use of a single M motor: And finally the rover can launch the propeller drone using an RC motor powered by BuWizz: Here is the final wrap up of the features and characterisics: 38 x 25 x 15 cm when folded 41 x 25 x 57 cm when unfolded Weighs 1800 grams Powered by 5M, 2L and one RC motor Controlled by 2 BuWizzes Independent all wheel drive with longitudinal differentials Rocker-bogie suspension Pneumatic unfolding Raisable 3D camera arm - placeholder for a WiFi camera Leveling mechanism Drone launcher Working claws Unlimited steering angle And a quick video of the rover in action:

Robust working 1:12 RC model of the 6x6 rocker-bogie mobility system used in Mars rovers Perseverance and Curiosity... Tons of play value. Works well over most neighborhood surfaces and terrains, but sometimes gets stuck in loose sand. What you put on top is up to you. NB: The NASA rovers are 6x6x4 platforms, with 6 wheels, all 6 driven, and the 4 corner wheels steered. At 1:12 scale, steering individual wheels with LEGO motors is out of the question. So this model is necessarily a 6x6x0 platform — but one with reasonably effective skid steering. Several years ago, made a pretty faithful working 1:12 model of Curiosity with more emphasis on visual realism than on mobility system performance. The current model vastly outperforms the old one... Purist alert: SBrick RC receiver, non-LEGO elastics used to suppress wheel spread.

The Martian rover "Pilgrim" is a heavy multi-role vehicle designed for deep exploration of Mars, built by the Lego Space Agency, it has unique characteristics. is an AWD rover equipped with an efficient suspension system, designed for a crew of 2 or 3 astronauts, who can access or descend through a pressurization chamber, in fact the internal cabin has its own pressurized atmosphere compared to the Martian atmosphere outside the vehicle. The rover is powered by fuel cells, batteries and high efficiency photovoltaic panels, guaranteeing a theoretically unlimited autonomy. The rover is equipped with a telescopic arm for collecting materials that are deposited in an independent container. Also on the front there is a second and smaller telescopic arm, with a digging, extracting and study function. Still on the front we find a useful winch, just in case. This rover has a wide range of tools for the analysis of the Martian soil and for communications: in front of it we find a photopolarimeter, a magnetometer, a composite infrared spectometer. On the upper part we find a UHD color / infrared close range camera, an radiation assessment detector, antennas for long and short frequency communications, satellite dish, a UHD color / infrared long range camera, and an atmospheric / meteorology package. Finally, the rover also has a rear tow hitch to allow the hooking of special trailers. The module is a small laboratory equipped with optical microscope, spectrophotometer, computer, incubation room / cold room, stove / sink, a bed, to increase the habitability. The mobile laboratory module is energy self-sufficient thanks to photovoltaic panels and batteries, and has replaceable air reserve for 3 days. It is also equipped with communication systems. Lego Mars Exploration Rover Lab Module Trailer by Jordan Parmegiani, su Flickr Lego Mars Exploration Rover Lab Module Trailer (5) by Jordan Parmegiani, su Flickr The "Pilgrim" rover mining trailer is equipped with a state-of-the-art drilling system that allows reaching depths of up to 100 meters, and is able to extract soil core samples with special tools. It has a mobile refillable cartridge containing the drill rigs pushed deep by a mechanical hammer at the top of the apparatus. The speed of descent and perforation can be varied according to need. The system is completely independent and manoeuvrable from the safety of the rover. ------------------------------------------------------------------THE IDEA------------------------------------------------------------------ Have you ever wondered what lies beyond the horizon of all those treacherous dunes on Classic Space box art? Well, heck if I know -- BUT I can ask you a better question: how does one get there? CERTAINLY not with 6mm offset tread wheels mind you! Legend has it, as you progress deeper and deeper into the dunes, the sediment becomes darker and redder. Some believe this is because of a rich resource which lies deep beneath it, some say it leads to treasure, and others may warn that is home to the Insectoids... Personally I think its because I only had so many options to work with for backgrounds -- BUT the answer is up to you! ------------------------------------------------------------------THE CRAWLER------------------------------------------------------------------ Back to the big question, how does one cross those dunes? Well, the nerds over at Classic Space HQ (trans-green edition) have the answer! They came up with the legendary idea of slapping the biggest tires possible on the 6901 Mobile Lab, but then quickly realized the tire itself was far bigger than the lab, so they had to resort to an increased budget. They searched far and wide for whatever traditional light gray pieces they could find and were able to create a behemoth lab crawler ready to challenge the dunes themselves. It is time to discover and research what lies beyond them! The Mobile Lab's crew consists of one captain (red), two explorer scouts (yellow), two miners/analysts (green), two engineers (gray), and two scientists (white). Looks like the explorers found some rocks and gems to take back to study! The top portion opens up to reveal a radar, similar to the orignal set! The entryway is accessible from the engineer bay which holds a mini-mobile lab for scouting. The Captain's child wanted to tag along for fun! The lab also has a detachable net for all the dune loot! The entire lab is accessible with detachable segments. It consists of an engineer's bay with an airlock, a lab section with the radar, gear stash, and research station; a crew's quarters with showers for sandy suits, and finally a control room! Deep within the dunes, there are rare green crystals rather than the common gold. These crystals have been extraordinarily dangerous for the crew and even turned the 2nd-in-command feral. They must find a cure, quickly! One of the scanners in the control room shows something odd --- that CAN'T be, why is there a Blacktron warning on the radar? It must be a bug -- or could there be a secret infiltrator on board trying to steal the mysterious green crystal's power? Surely, things would get dire if Blacktron were to get their hands on those crystals... Lastly, the lab itself can fully detach for long-term research missions. I hope you all enjoyed! If you want to see more photos, feel free to check out the rest on my flickr https://www.flickr.com/photos/183181081@N04/albums/72177720323965944/ As always, happy travels earthling!

It's a1950 piece Blacktron Base use to get information from other space factions of the Galaxy. Interrogations methods are mean and primitive. Blactron scientist found a better way to get information from unwilling astronauts. They designed a chair that hacks your memories while it makes the subject revive happy scenes from his past. Hey all. Here's a MOC I made in Lego Studio. It's a rover inspired by recent trans green windscreens/window pieces and the newish wheel fork. The command module can launch from the rover platform and function as a spaceship. The rover platform can function autonomously or be operated remotely from the command unit. Here's a pic showing the rear window of the main command module with the small cargo unit detached. Thanks for looking! A couple more pics here:

You wanted more? Here is my newest project! I'm doing something Lego Group never gave us in a space set. A proper SCI-FI Lander Rocket for planet colonization. The rocket carries deployable equipment to start a new colony in an unexplored new planet, A small rover, an outpost base, four cargo and an orbital communication satellite. All units to ensure the survival of the pioneer astronauts. Let us expand the imagination horizons and create something new rather than spaceships, rovers and bases. To give the new generations the joy we felt with Classic Space. This Moc takes rocket exploration to a new level! If you like this type of space colonization ideas, please give it your support!https://ideas.lego.com/profile/81f08ebb-fae9-4f04-9681-e2d545f1a898/entries?query=&sort=top

Well, I sort of forgot to post this here, so here you go, all rovers I made for FebRovery 2024: FebRovery 2024 by Ids de Jong, on Flickr For the Story, lets start at the beginning: Aboard the Spearhead: Jim: Has anyone seen Keko? I can't seem to find him. Bart Seeker: That Robot, no haven't seen him. Duncan: No haven't seen Keko either. MAGS: Keko is no longer on board, last signal was found on the planet below, 24h ago. Jim: I'm going to look for Keko. Duncan: You can use the new rover, it's parked in the back, the blue one. Bart: I don't trust it one bit, Viva go with Jim. Viva: Okay captain. Jim Spaceborn: The Search for Keko by Ids de Jong, on Flickr Day 1: The search for Keko has started. Viva: Where are we going to look for Keko? Jim: Let's just start driving to the last known coordinates. Viva: So, this is the new rover Duncan prepared? Jim: Yeah, looks like it, it was the blue one, I heard it was based on an older single seater design. Day 2: The search for Keko continues. Jim and Viva arrive at the last known location, but the only thing they find is a single spaceman on an antique rover searching for energy crystals. Whatever Keko was doing here, would it have something to do with those crystals? Day 3: Yesterday, Jim and Viva didn't get a great clue, maybe something related to an energy crystals. While planning their next move, they come across Max Greebles in his clean looking rover. Apparently the bounty hunter wouldn't mind looking for Keko. Max: I'll find him dead or in pieces! For only 20.000 credits. Jim: I rather would like to find Keko in one piece and alive if possible. Max: No can do, mate, not if you add another 10.000 credits. Viva: Let's go Jim, I don't think we can come to an agreement here. Day 4: The search continues, Jim and Viva are just taking a brake when a striking coloured rover passes by. Jim: Look at that. Viva: Looks like they also made a smaller rover for Xanad II, after the prototype testing was done for the bigger one. Jim: Oh, I didn't know that, anyway I think we need some kind of plan where to look for Keko. Viva: I agree, maybe we need someone who can tell us something about those energy crystals. Day 5: While searching for energy crystal experts, Jim and Viva see a suspicious looking rover. When they look, one of the astronauts in white steps forward and asks them to go away, apparently they are busy with some kind of experiment. Jim: These Whitetron guys are not the most friendly it seems. Viva: Yeah, let's go Jim. Day 6: Jim and Viva finally found some crystal experts, but after arriving on the planet, they didn't realize they also had to go to the bottom of the sea floor. Jim: Would Keko have been here though? Viva: I don't think so, I'm not sure many robots would be found this deep under water and still work like normal. Day 7: After that under water adventure, Jim and Viva were glad to be back on solid ground. Today, they asked around and found an experimental rover, the large crystal detector rover with foldable radio dish. With a special resonance frequency, large crystal deposits can be detected. Could it be used to detect Keko? Jim: So you can detect large deposits of crystal with this rover? Viva: Looks like it. Jim: Maybe we can use it somehow to plan our next move. Day 8: Continuing to the next destination, Jim and Viva have been ordered to stop when trying to cross a landing pad. Apparently it is being cleaned with special equipment after a chase, they also see Max Greebles in his rover quickly disappearing in the distance. Day 9: When arriving at a location with a strong crystal deposit reading, Jim and Viva meet a strange green alien in an equally strange rover. Jim: Did you see a grey robot? Strange Alien: Ksss, taaas, kraaa. Viva: Eh, I'm not sure I got that... Alien: Ksss, taaas, kraaa. Jim: Yeah, we don't understand that. Another alien behind them: Hello. When Jim and Viva turn around a friendly looking fella greeted them. Friendly Alien: We saw some people in black carrying a grey robot at another crystal deposit some days ago. Jim: Thank you for the info, we need to look for some people in black then? Viva: Yeah, let's do that. Day 10: Having heard they should look out for people in black, today Jim and Viva come across a weird looking rover. Jim: Look at that rover, what is that? Viva: It appears to be some kind of dragon rover, maybe it's used for a special event? Day 11: Another day without a trace of Keko, although Jim and Viva see something unusual today. Jim: I'm not sure what going on here. Viva: Looks like a baby rover show-off... Day 12: Looking for Keko continues, Jim and Viva meet one of their crew mates on top of some kind of rover. Jim: Did he really add wheels to a starfire 1? Viva: I do recognize some parts of it, it's a really strange rover now... Jim: But on a more serious note, we really should continue our search. Viva: Yeah let's go. Day 13: Today, we find Jim and Viva in discussion with some alien. Jim: Hello, we are and Viva and Jim, did you see some suspicious people in black? We are looking for a grey robot and the only clue we have is energy crystals and people in black. Alien: Greetings, I'm Omicron Draconis, we haven't seen any suspicious behavior around here. Viva: What exactly are you doing here with this weird looking rover. Omicron Draconis: We are filtering the sand on this planet, the sand is sucked in from the ground, and then we filter the sand. Jim: Why would you do that? Omicron Draconis: We are looking for a rare and special purple sand. We use that to make special parts for ships and rovers. Viva: Interesting story, thank you for the explanation. Then we need to look further. Jim: Yeah let's go. Day 14: Jim: Hmm, that's a strange looking Futuron radar rover. Viva: It looks more like a Pinktron rover. Jim: Yeah, those wheels look a bit like candy... Viva: Would it have something to do with that valentine's day custom I heard about? Day 15: Day 15 of the search for Keko, Jim and Viva haven't found the missing link yet. Jim: Still no trace of those black guys. Viva: Let's ask the driver of that springy looking rover. Jim: I don't think he sees us. The rover quickly passes by and the only remaining creatures left are small slimy aliens. Viva: I guess we can't ask them about anything, let's continue our search. Day 16: A new day, a new chance to find Keko. Jim: so we are almost back at our starting point, without any real trace of Keko. We need a new plan. Viva: I agree. Driver of the passing liquid transport rover: I heard they also have some crystal expert here. She sends over some new coordinates. Jim: Let's go there tomorrow. Viva: Yeah, good idea. Day 17: Arriving at the received coordinates from yesterday, Jim and Viva make their way to the nearest crystal deposit. There, they find a small rover passing by. Jim: It looks like they also have energy crystals here. Viva: Yeah, no sign of those guys in black though, I'm wondering what we are even looking for... Jim: Let's take a sample, and find a next place to continue our investigation. Viva: Okay, let's do that, too much snow and ice around here. Day 18: Jim and Viva are back from the frozen world, when suddenly the Cyber Baron arrives in his new rover. Jim: He looks kind of suspicious, but only his helmet is black. Viva: Yeah, I don't think we found our clue yet. Jim: Let's just ask. Viva: Okay. Jim: Hello, did you see any guys in black with energy crystals and/or a grey robot? Cyber Baron: I'm not answering that, goodbye. With that he drives off into the distance. Jim: ... Day 19: Jim and Viva are still looking for Keko, not sure if they get any closer, they do know they are looking at a new rover today. Jim: What kind of rover is that? Viva: Looks like a prototype R-Tron rover. Jim: Oh, interesting, I have not seen those before. Viva: Yeah, those are rare, they don't make many of those. Day 20: Jim and Viva continue their search. Today they met a driver of a red rover. Jim: Hello, we are Jim an Viva, I see you have your own robot companion, but did you see any grey robot, we are looking for Keko? Jim shows a picture of Keko. Red rover driver: No I haven't seen that robot before, I'm afraid I can't help you with more information. Day 21: Jim and Viva see another strange looking rover today. Jim: That looks like a jet turbine engine on wheels... Viva: The driver looks a bit nervous. Jim: Would this be like those jet engines from the Galaxy Explorer, I remember someone tried to fly on that thing. Viva: Yeah, only with wheels this time... Day 22: Finally, a black looking figure appeared in a rover today. Jim: I do see a robot, it isn't Keko though. Viva: No, you're right, it's not even grey and I don't see any energy crystals. Jim: If Blacktron would have taken Keko, then we would need to call the Space Police. Viva: Yeah, but we need more information first. Day 23: Still looking for energy crystals, today we meet Jim and Viva underground. Sparks: So, you guys are looking for energy crystals. Jim: Well more exactly, we are looking for Keko, our robot friend, and apparently his disappearance has something to do with energy crystals. Docs: So, any other clues? Maybe Sparks can help you guys build a portable detector. Viva: That could really help us, we are a bit lost. Day 24: Jim and Viva were going to their next destination, when they suddenly saw a medic rover overtaking them. They followed it for a while, when they saw a familiar rover laying on it's side. Jim: It wasn't that safe after all. Viva: Luckily for the driver, at least it looks like the medic bot was already near. Jim: Yeah, still you have to be crazy driving a jet turbine engine on wheels... Viva: I agree. Day 25: After getting some info from Sparks, Jim and Viva turn up at a new crystal excavation site. The head of the mining operation tells them that many different energy crystal sites have seen suspicious activity this month. Jim: So, probably, those are the same guys who may have something to do with the disappearance of Keko. Viva: Yeah, that would be possible. Day 26: Today, Jim and Viva get some explanations were the energy crystals are used for. They get to see how the vehicles are powered by the energy cells and made/recharged from the energy crystals. Jim: So what suspicious activity was observed here? Space miner: We didn't observe it ourself, but some cameras registered some unusual activity. Also I heard some robots went missing. Viva: Hmm, that is indeed interesting, we're also looking for a robot. Day 27: Having heard more info about the suspicious activity at the crystal excavation sites, and the missing robots, Jim and Viva continue their search for Keko. Jim: Let ask the driver about Keko, as we still need some more info. Viva: I'll ask. Hello, We are looking for a grey Robot, have you seen or heard anything about missing robots. Driver of the red rover: Well, not personally, as I don't have any robots myself, but I heard an investigation by a special task force was happening right now. Maybe they know something, let me give you the coordinates. Viva: Thanks for the info, we'll be sure to check that out. Day 28: Jim and Viva arrive at the coordinates they received yesterday. Jim: This looks like the special task force we heard about yesterday. Viva: This task force also looks a bit suspicious, being dressed in all black. Jim: Yeah, although the Space Police use the same colours, a bit different though. Viva: Let's ask about Keko. Jim: Hi, we are looking for a missing robot. Man in black: We received various reports about missing robots, we also have tracked some of them to various locations, but it looks like they are on the move. Day 29: Hello, I'm Ned from the Trans Galactic Info Channel (TGIC) sponsored by Blue Bird Inc. and Meta 3 Corp. As you may or may not know, some robots have gone missing the past month. But today, all is over, the culprit has been caught by my great investigation that I single handedly performed. Jim: What are you talking about, you didn't do anything, the special task force caught the botnapper. Viva: Yeah, we haven't even seen you the whole month. Ned: please don't interrupt my story, we're live you know. Anyway, we can see how the mastermind of the disappearance of Keko and other bots has been caught. The illegal's robot trader who calls himself 'Tobor the Trader' will be escorted to the nearest prison planet, as he was caught stealing various robots. Which he tried to sell for energy crystals. This concludes our bot napping report, thanks for tuning in, and don’t forget to subscribe, also follow me for more stories @NedIsTheBest.meta3.moon2be to stay up to date with the latest news about me. Jim: I'm just glad Keko was ok. Viva: Yeah. Keko: Hi Jim, look at all my new robot friends. Jim: I see you are doing just fine... Major Kartofski: Can somebody please let me down, I don't like being upside down! Anybody...

An Ice Planet truck for Febrovery. The general chassis and shape came to mind quickly after I got the wheels together, but completing all the details took longer than expected. Has a few functional bits as the drill arm is articulated and the cabin opens in such a way that the driver could actually board the vehicle. More images available on Brickbuilt.

Wasn't fond of the small minifigure or technic rovers released this year so I wanted to build my own. Made it just in time for march, the month where everyone is building space rovers. Honestly didn't know if I should've posted this here or in the lego town theme. The top detaches to become a small Cargo tug that should be compatible with the modules seen in the big rover, the space base, and the space station sets. Nothing else can plug into the rover body though.

Another Classic Space Lego Ideas project. This time is White Classic Space/Futuron Color Scheme. Kappa Notch Complex is a Space Base nestled between mountains, It´s composed of several modules or rooms connected internaly by corridors dug into the rocky mountains around a large rocket silo housing a two stage rocket designed to take a satelite into orbit in new colonizing planets. Lab, telecommunications, control panel, infirmary are among the fuctions of the modular rooms of the base. It also features a vehicle hangar and landing pad among the features of the base. NOTE: I updated the base by adding a Space Police rover and Blacktron speeder. The upgrades will be added to Lego Ideas in a month.
