  1. Thanks Lobot, im getting into a good habit of missing the decent sales :p
  2. Where are people seeing kylos command shuttle for 40% off, in the uk? Ima jump at one for that but cant seem to find any :(
  3. This is a really cute build, and i love it! The idea is quite fitting, and carried out just right. The building looks nice and quirky in a run down kinda way, although with the red and white overhang bits over the windows, i cant figure out what the building is meant to have been...? Without them, id have said a mausoleum, but with them, it completely removes that idea from my head and im left unsure :( Either way, nice little build regardless!
  4. It looks really nice from a distance... But then so does my face... What is it like up close? For the scale you've worked at, the relevant details seem to have been successfully achieved
  5. Im not normally one for mechs... But this one... This one ticks boxes that i didnt even know existed for me! I really love how this looks just right in every proportion, the colour balance is perfect, with the right amount of trans parts. Id be proud of this if i had one, and i wouldnt ever want to take it apart! Great job! *edit* forgot to say, i really like that first photo!
  6. Other than the TIE, i feel quite underwhelmed at these :( and ive really liked all of them from series one and two so far, so its a bit of an anti-climax :(
  7. This brought a smile to my face :) Such a quirky sentence I am following with intense awe and a huge urge being held back not to order parts for this until I've seen you have done it as I don't want to take anything away from you, but I do look forward to the opportunity to make one myself! I also feel bad for following, but at the same time, am excruciatingly eager in anticipation for each progressive step forward that you guys make as it looks absolutely brilliant with each step forward. I look forward to further progress, and hugely appreciate the LDD file sharing :)
  8. I used to be a plasterer so id be making buildings interiors smoother with cow poo, but now i fix helicopters... Guess id be a horse and cart repairer :s That is such a shame... It must be like having the life sucked out of you each day bit by bit :( just make sure those with potential do get their fair share because those are the people that make it worth it :(
  9. Its nothing but a good thing. Theyre able to reach out to a wider audience attracting new customers who wouldnt have otherwise gotten into it. I seriously doubt there are many people out there that are not buying lego hardly at all anymore simply because the choice is now 'too big'. In fact, id hazard a guess that the number of such people is soo negligable that they couldnt care less. Having more choices than we can spend our own money on is nothing bjt good for them because there will always be someone else that will buy it. They wont continue to produce what doesnt sell...
  10. Oh my god i want to take one of them figs home!!! How come that is in uh... Japan? Or where ever it is? Im surprised its not in america, such a big display like that...
  11. I think these are really cute! Soon as i get home from work, ill be supporting these. Have you thought about contacting Brick, the magazine? I think that may definitely be worth a shot. Also, while not exactly difficult to reverse build, id hold onto the ldd files for now. Let the project build up steam. I could easily be wrong, but my reasoning is youd be taking away reason for people to vote for it if they can readily make them theirselves...
  12. I'll be honest... I wasn't keen on the nose when you had only designed the nose... It looked kind of stumpy, and the staggered technique for the nose seemed a little off.... but now seeing it with the rest of the fuselage, it 'just seems to work'! I think you have made great progress, and it certainly does look very well shaped. Just try and consider gravity in this build. If you have enough multi coloured bricks, test out whether the horizontal stabilizers could support their own weight with the method you will have them attached.... etc. Look forward to seeing the wings! How many pieces currently?
  13. Im pretty sure i can spy a minifig in that turret. I absolutely love this, it looks like a snooping ice beetle (whatever that could be lol). Normally it takes a big wheeled vehicle to look really good for me to like it as i find i struggle to 'enjoy' big wheeled vehicles. But absolutely everything about this looks absolutely perfect. That cockpit looke snug, but busy with a decent layout. The shaping encasing the cockpit window is just spot on. The shaping of the body continues on from the cockpit canopy just seamlessly. That little turret does not look out of place at all, it fits in very well, and its shape blends well with the rest of the vehicle. The 2 side cannons look the perfect size... Im just absolutely loving it, and it has inspired me to start making my first spaceship, seeing just how amazing when done right, something can look.
  14. Im not quite understanding what it is youre trying to achieve exactly...? I thought that was the whole point of childrens imaginations when playing with these sets, regardless what sub-theme in city they come from... Children make up storylines and interact all their sets together making up the story as they play, your one mentioned above, being one of many millions of possible 'play' stories...? Imagination is the connection.
  15. He already knows that armstrongyong, he said it himself its too tall. Have you tried removing the 1x3 technic beam on the landing gear and simply having the technic axle that goes through the landing gear straight to the technic piece that attaches with pin into the 2x2 plate with technic hole underneath it? Im on my phone at the moment and limited time (work) so cant find/link to show the exact pieces i mean, but its all there in your landing gear already. That would reduce the height by 2 beam thicknesses.
  16. 75094 is the Tydirium http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=116156 is the link
  17. But different levels of attentiveness doesnt= different skill level required. Simply follow the instructions, and it is essentially putting brick on brick, or pin through hole... There is no guessing required, everything is laid out for you... The only difficulty is when the colours aren't laid out so clearly in the instructions and 2 look very similar...
  18. Ive never really understood the difficulty in sets, and some being more difficult than others, more so that some sets simply have more pieces than others. I can understand it if you have an idea or a picture to design something and no instructions to achieve a difficult complex shape like a compound curve... But when you have instructions, it literally is: get this piece, place it on this piece/through this piece, and put this piece on/through this piece. Then put this sub assembly on main piece. That happens with literally every single set. So how can one be more difficult than another? Doesnt it simply appear more daunting due to more pieces than difficult?
  19. Ohhh I loved that game, and I always felt sad for that area with the little flowers This is a lovely rendition of that scene!
  20. Yet you miss the fact that by building it in LDD (or randomly placing the parts) you have the parts list through the instructions...
  21. I know this. There is a difference between having permission to make an instruction booklet, and then becoming a 'competitor' for the sales of the ability to make the model. Pete sells the LDD file. cjd sells the instructions. Both are not needed, maybe this wasn't thoroughly thought out, or maybe Pete doesn't care anymore whether he gets money from each sale of the ability to make his own UCS AT-AT... but I do not know this as it hasn't been clearly stated, and therefore, I am simply making the situation apparent, especially as cjd himself has stated that he does not want to make all of CGs files irrelevant as it would not be fair to him... to which, by making the instructions, he pretty much has (to anyone that will put a little bit of extra effort in).
  22. But, you have already partly done that. All it would take is for one person to buy the instructions and page by page, list the pieces in a spreadsheet that are required under instruction, then simply spam all pieces in an ldd file (not required to be positioned correctly and there it is. You are now effectively in competition with CG for customers interested in his moc. They can either go to him, or you, no need for both. I dont want to take anything away from the effort of having made instructions, i applaud you for having taken the time to do so, it would just be a shame to see people (cant think of the right word) abuse the potential... Maybe ask Anio how Anio and Frousmaul (i think thats his name) arrange it? Frousmaul makes the instructions of Anios mocs frequently.
  23. Id say good purchase/choice there. Its pretty neutral all round. Elves might be a good choice too, while some sets prices might seem a little off, they are pretty decent sets that look nice on a shelf. Then... There's the modulars lol... Id say stick with the creator ones like you got for now. Oooh, the animal ones are pretty good too, like the cat and mouse set.
  24. Oh to have the innocense of a child again where monsters look like that... Now... They are people :( I like it, it would be interesting to see the drawings the children did and to see if your interpretation matched any of the kids. Agreed with the above, liking those eyes!
  25. I completely missed the sarcasm.. Im still finding it difficult to see it... Even the capital words dont seem like sarcasm, just making clear certain points :s Maybe i need a new sarcasm detector :(
