  1. Eh.... seeing that... makes me want one more and more Nice smoothness
  2. I don't have the answers about the printing, as tlg seems to not go for 100% correct detail across all themes, not just minecraft, so its pretty much a given there would be discrepencies there. As for the bread and chest... Im pretty sure that one of the selling points of lego is that ones imagination is a big part playing with it. Ok, its not an exact copy, but for kids (who lego is majorly focused towards) do you really think they will care? Im pretty sure not. Im pretty sure theyll use their imagination and play with their Steve minifig who, to them, is perfectly good enough as he has a blocky Steve head-their imagination fills in the blanks, and then they'll get their Steve to plonk the bread in the chest and bury it or something, imagining they are playing minecraft because the fact they have a bread piece and chest enables them to physically do this, while their imagination again, fills in the blanks. It would be financially expensive and probably not profitable enough for tlg to get absolutely every detail spot on to satisfy those people that want lego to supercede itself and become a highly detailed replica toy. Dont forget, it probably cost them a fair bit for the licence, and it wouldnt surprise me if tlg have to give a % of each set that sells, to minecraft. I think, for what it is, theyve done good enough. It certainly comes across well enough as minecraft.
  3. Hi again, so... I know it is a bit late for Halloween, but it was never intended to be completed for Halloween, next year in fact, but I started ordering pieces and well... This is my first 'scene' where I have focused more on the scenery being the draw to the moc, and what is happening in the scene... So here it is complete! Graveyard by Sam, on Flickr Graveyard by Sam, on Flickr Graveyard by Sam, on Flickr Graveyard by Sam, on Flickr c&c welcome :)
  4. Great! Now go post it in the media section rather than the rumours thread trying to gain 'first post' points...
  5. Im absolutely in awe of your work youve put into this, the research that must have been done to reverse engineer everything and figure out all the cross referencing. On top of that, youre working your way through what i was wishing/hoping to start someday, emmets mech at full size! Do you think youll make the ldd file available when youre done? Or should i get started now ;) id be desperate to make this in bricks asap as it would be such a decent looking beast to have! Again, extremely well done on your current progress on it all, and props to you for the ldd files that youve made available so far. Im glad youre ok after the accident btw.
  6. Im confused... Either youre stating the glaringly obvious because its made of lego, or im missing some sort of sarcasm... Anyhoos, this really is brilliant! Every animal/fish you do always has its features captured so cleanly, and this one doesnt fail. I can also see that it is massive, what with those 2x4s as water, but its difficult to comprehend its size still, as it just looks soo good!
  7. Stick an 18 certificate age rating on it and you have yourself the first fully dedicated perfect afol set xD
  8. They have friends that work in TRU... Its all I can imagine...
  9. That vampire, skeleton and scientist are my favourites, especially the vampire! I like the entire set up, it is fun in a spooky way! Really good job!
  10. This is seriously realistic looking! You've captured the fright of it exceptionally well! The way shes coming out of the TV with the dripping hair...
  11. Im gutted, but in a good way! You've done a really nice graveyard here, with quite a few features that I have on mine that I am currently part way through building and was going to post :( The graves, a 'main grave' (I have a sarcophagus, you have a tomb thing which looks really good!), a headless horseman, and really coincidentally, 4 graves, all surrounded by a nice looking wall with a gate! Must be the typical thing people imagine I like all the movie references you've managed to fit in, especially Samara coming out of the well Hahahaha I've just spotted Chucky!!! Really nice graveyard =D Will you be building this in real bricks?
  12. That boat sailed a few months ago.... I know. I was the main protagonist in trying to stop spoilers... Like trying to make the world spin the opposite direction...
  13. Pretty sure there will be helmets available on bricklink. Not really such a bad thing.
  14. Regardless, I think we get the idea that it is the 2010 one, the difference is pretty irrelevant.
  15. Of course they will, its a social thing. Some people will bow to peer pressure of 'why you still playong with a childs toy', some will simply do as sven f said, turn 16, have not a lot of money, prioritise other hobbies/social stuff, then there are those that will still stay in it. But i do believe that there will be more people nowadays that will stay in it as it is so easy to see on the internet how far one can progress with it if they focus on it and create something awesome to themselves. Now there are forums where they can talk to likeminded people and that will help people stay in it too.
  16. Agreed... Also, I don't understand the hate for the battle damage. Since when was armour of proper warriors ever sparkling clean without a scratch due to previous combat? I think people are overreacting about it to be honest...
  17. Nice find... I agree, although I actually don't much like Poe either... they seem more like cyborgs with human heads... Which might explain why it doesnt look too bad for the fully enclosed helmeted guys...
  18. They are sooo cute! Almost like those little bobble head characters... Hans pose is quite fitting too, nice one!
  19. I can't imagine it would be illegal... modifying something and then selling it... I really can't think how that could be wrong...? I look forward to printed pieces for this set!
  20. I slowly lost interest in lego as it became 'childish' to actually play with lego, games consoles started appearing enmasse such as the super nintendo (i was born in 84), warhammer took over in my teens. Limited money meant sacrifices, and dam, warhammer was (is even more so) expensive! Anyways, i got into a regular paid job decent enough for my age which gave me some financial freedom and started collecting star wars action fleet vehicles. At the time the imperial shuttle version was out, i always wanted it but never got it. I saw one on ebay and got it. Episode 2 had just came out and i loved the republic gunship. AF released one of those too so i got that but at the same time, saw that lego uad released a version also (7676 at this point). Just HAD to uave it, but it was a lot back then. After months of pondering, gave in, went to toys r us to get one and they didnt do them anymore!!! Went on ebay and got a not complete set so found out about bricklink. Then on ebay, saw Christopher Chambers ARC version which i fell in love with. Bricklinked it after getting his instructions and that was me hooked. I then got the large Spyrius robot with the little detachable spaceship head which i always wanted when i was younger but my parents could only afford to get me the small robot version. Then i bought the Spyrius Saucer, and was well and truly stuck in head first. There was no way i could get out of it then! Fast forward to now, i have probably about £5000-6000 worth of sets/mocs and am unfortunately just getting into modulars... Love the halloween related stuff so get anything related to being spooky. Thankfully i had a loving girlfriend who supported me and goes to exhibitions with me when i display :D
  21. Depends entirely on the subject. Affordability is entirely subjective. Not just your own price points. There is plenty enough Lego sets that are well and truly within your subjective opinion of being affordable. TLG doesn't have to cater everything to absolutely everybody, I'm pretty sure that they are successful enough to be able to release more 'elite' sets that have much higher price points. Not everyone can afford a brand new Audi RX8... but I don't see adults moaning that Audi aren't releasing a more affordable version that just has the shell and a 1 litre engine with plastic trim... Unlike cars, the great thing about Lego is.... You can build your own at whatever price point you want to stretch to.
  22. I'm seriously hoping that they really are temporarily out of stock, and it is because of this 'shortage' across Europe that is causing them to be temporarily out of stock, not because they are suddenly going to be bluntly stopped... I have plans to get the Mansion,Lighthouse and mummy set around December time :(
  23. What is affordable to you (50-80) may still yet be unaffordable to others... It is kind of getting boring seeing you raise this '£80 being an affordable set' thing so frequently...
  24. Parisian restaurant for sure! I have yet to get it, but i am just getting into modulars and will do my best to budget for this set as it really is full of amazing quirky details, as well as simply looking stunning! Then buy a couple of other sets that catch your eyes. Im hoping to be getting poes x wing and im just waiting for the tie fighter to arrive soon, cant have one without the other!
