  2. I made a 16-wide a while ago and it was hard to use the pieces from the set only. Yours was probably even harder. Moding a set from a limited selection of pieces and making alternative models to an original set is a challenge by itself, and you did a great job with this mod. And a bit off topic: seeing Tower Bridge moded into a beautiful modular building was stunning.
  3. The Family house looks great, and I'm definitely getting one. Unfortunately, I'm not so fascinated with the Tree house. Is there any speculation on price for these two?
  4. Thanks for a nice review. It's nice to see Friends 'experimenting' in other areas, and karate seems to be a nice challenge - judging by her trophies, Emma is very successful at this hobby. Set wise, it's a nice little treat with some interesting bricks - my favourite are the girly tiles and lavender basket.
  5. There have been to many interesting entries lately. Again, this one is one my favourites. I like a simplistic touch of the house, with detailing using brick bricks, and great colour scheme. The fountain is a nice addition, and the dark red car is the centre piece. Also, the interiors has some sweet details, like the knitting lady and the one working on a sewing machine. Good luck in the competition!
  6. For some reason, train station is one of the 'musts' when I think of a winter village. Your design is nice and simple just as it should be. And there's lots of great details that give character to the building. The clock tower (and its mechanism on the back side) is my favourite. Also, the bench in the waiting lobby is an interesting design, and news stand is a nice addition. You did a great job with this MOC! Good luck in the contest!
  7. You have good eyes to catch a detail like that. Introduction of new theme is certainly a nice opportunity for new types/colours of bricks, and Friends seem to bring many that I like and find useful.
  8. Another great entry. The logs look fantastic. The interiors is equally fascinating. Including the fur was a smart move as it attracts attention, but when you imagine yourself seating on the fur rug, and your eyes start wondering around the walls, your even more impressed. I'd like to spend some holidays in cabin like that. :-) Good luck in the contest.
  9. So, it is likely to have double VIP points in March. This sounds as a great reason for a trip north to Munich. And what is this 3000003 Lego Brand store set? I can't find anything about it.
  10. Thanks for this. I obviously missed it. To make the trip to Munich worth it, double VIP points is a great option. I'm planing to get the Palace Cinema and Horizon Express, so taking a train trip in mid March is a great excuse for a day off and a busy weekend for building.
  11. I actually like the car the most. It looks 'old-style' and fits in with the series nicely. The idea to make a gas pump is refreshing, and it's something you need when driving off to a winter village.Sand green looks nice on the building, and the detailing around the windows makes the facade more interesting. The only 'problem' is the gaps in the wall - it's hard to keep the insides warm. Nevertheless, it's a sweet build. Good luck!
  12. Your cars are always good, despite you calling them names (the bad or the ugly). The yellow car does look a bit ''ugly'' due to colour combination, however it's design is great, and so it's the other two cars'.
  13. Another nice entry. It feels much safer now up in the mountains with your service. The used of boxer's equipment for mittens is great. So is the x-ray machine with light brick. Well done.
  14. Me, too. I was just looking around for a slope like that in red, but there's none.
  15. This is far from being a winter theme MOC, but then not everyone has winter this time of year. I like the oriental style of the building. There's just so many little details that caught my eye. The 'bricked' pathway, the golden dome on tan pillars, and the rug, fish table and water pipe inside the building.
  16. Nice LDD creation. The original house seems to be a great inspiration for LEGO model. I'd like to see it built in real bricks. Well done!
  17. I've made a comment on Flickr already, and was eagerly waiting to see your post on EB as well. This is a fantastic build. The shape of the building with a round 'end' is a challenge that you managed perfectly. Adding simple and effective detailing on the facade creates a special character of the building. I'm not going to discuss the interiors as it's equally stunning (and realistic, I might say). The suggestion of sand green for the dome sounds interesting.
  18. Is there any 'rule' on when LEGO stores offer double VIP points? I remember this going on last October, and March. Is it possible to expect it this March again? Does anyone know how far in advance this promotions are anounced? I'm considering getting Horizon Express in London LEGO store while on a trip there in mid February, but waiting for a double VIP points would be a nice chance to get Palace cinema as well. Only, that would have to be another trip to LEGO store.
  19. That's another nice entry. I like the idea to make a bus station, although driving by bus can be tricky when there's lots of snow. The minibus look nice and opening doors is a nice playable feature. Also the kiosk looks great, the (custom, probably) stickers make it look well stocked. Good luck in the contest.
  20. Thanks, it works for me now, too. I guess it was the computer at work, trying to keep me focused on work, not bricks. Both Family house and Tree house looks interesting at this point. I like the modern touch of Family house with a ''glass'' walll. As I'll buy only a few of the 1H sets, I'm looking forward to these too.
  21. Nice work. The front of the build looks nice with simple details - the stone work and large brown doors. The inside is even nicer, I like one classroom for biology, geography and math, together with a small library.
  22. It looks nice. You should definitely go ahead and make it with bricks!
  23. That's a must - no playing before the hands are washed thoroughly. And it's working with my nephews.
  24. Where did you see it? I can't find it as the link from a post above is not working anymore.
  25. Well done. This is a lovely brick-reproduction.
