  1. Very nice. I like the scale of the house, being a massive build on a stony base. Sand green 'grass' caught my eye first, and it looks great surrounding the tall stone walls. Well done.
  2. Fantastic design! I was thrown with some nice and simple, but very effective facade detailing. And then I saw the equally impressive interiors and was left speachless. It's hard to comment a specific detail, as there's simply too many nice ones. For sure, the exterior is what caught my eye, as I saw it first and so it's still the most impressive part of the build. Well done and thanks for sharing!
  3. This is a fantastic design! I used plates for a modular once, and it was hard work putting them together. Your church has tones of plates and it looks perfect! Also the scenery is lovely, the tall fence and greenery around it makes it look like a nice and quiet place isolated from every day hustle and bustle. Well done!
  4. This is a fantastic scale to build a kitchen. All the details look great with some minifig kitchen utensils (pans, plates, teapot, flasks etc). My favourite is the rack for paper towels - simple, but very smart brick usage. Well done! Do you plan to do any other rooms as well?
  5. Thanks for hi-res pictures, Grogall. This Family House is one of the few I really liked from the begining, and I was very curious to see the insides. The lamp design is still intriguing me. KielDaMan, you definitely now how to advertises. After your comment, I'm already thinking of getting the tree house as well, just to pair them up.
  6. Well done. You obviously have a skill for LOTR microbuilds. My favourite are the ents, as they're very recognizable. As for Saruman, I saw him only after it was mentioned that it's included in the MOC.
  7. Excellent MOC! The dragon looks very sweet at this scale.
  8. I'm one of those that are impressed with the set, however, I don't even consider ever buying it. I like the fact that an ent was included, although the poor ent would look even nicer with some extra green leaves. Maybe it's not spring yet there where the ent lives. :-) I see the set as a wonderful example of architectural details, with all black facade and still many details of different shapes. Also, the interiors is interesting, and adds life to the creation. However, at the end of the day, if not exhibited on the shelf for everyone to see it, this is just a pile of black bricks that makes an impressive model.
  9. Mind you, I'm not a German, but Munich is the closest city with LEGO stores. However, I agree with you partly. Apart from what I got in the cups, there was not much more useful bricks left. And this was from two different stores.
  10. I was in Munich yesterday and visited both the Riem and Pasing's LEGO stores. There were some goodies in both stores. For one, I was surprised to see the bright green leaves 6x5. On the other hand, I stocked on tan and white bricks in Pasing. Specifically in Pasing, I was a bit tight on time, so the packing was not as perfect as it could be, nevertheless, in total I still got many useful bricks for less than on BL.
  11. Same for me. I don't have problems with not buying sets (specially as I live close to a nice toy shop), but having a LEGO store with a PaB wall would be great for small trips just to check it out. Usually, I get there lots of goodies for town building.
  12. Dharkan, I'll be in Legoland in early June, so I'll post them about the selection. I've only been there once, and was positively surprised with the selection (and negatively with high price). Considering BL prices, it's worth to be prepared before going to Factory store. Consider weight and amount of bricks you have in 100 g, then you get a price/brick to compare with BL. That was my strategy, and I got some more expensive (BL) bricks for less. I made a comparison of BL and Factory prices on Brickshelf. You might find these useful.
  13. The most recent news on Vienna's store is that it's opening in September this year according to one of the employess from Munich's store. Great news for some, for me it's another new destionation, that takes a bit less time to travel there.
  14. I was waiting for this MOC to comment on. As I've seen it at the exhibition, it was a nice detailing to the otherwise perfect layout. It's a nice touch adding an unfinished facade and breaking up the monotony of the otherwise new street. The hidden details are a nice touch - exposed studs, bottoms of headlights, and my favourite the worker taking a break with refreshment. Well done!
  15. Sorry, I think I forgot to thank you in person. The ship was a nice addition, as the sea (blue baseplates) would look too empty...a cue for ship building.
  16. Here's a link to the report page from the 10th KockeFest exhibition. I don't have all the photos, so this might give you a better feel of the town. Mind you, this was a collaborative build of several members, and the emphasis was on the airport, so the town layout is smaller then previously. (The same page has links to previous exhibitions, aslo, so feel free to check those as well.)
  17. Thanks for posting this. It looks interesting and I'm sure I'll try it.
  18. Nice MOC and great photography. The glow in the dark bricks work well for ghostly atmosphere.
  19. You definitely have skills for working with LDD. Your modular looks great. The colour scheme is great. What I like the most is some sort of a simple design, you have lots of detailing on the facade, but it's partly cleverly disguised in darker colours with only pearl gold sticking out. That effect is just great. Also the interiors is nicely done. The only thing I was looking for, but didn't find, was access to the roof. But then, with the nice flower bed and relaxing chairs, it's not about the access, it's about enjoying the roof. Well done, looking forward to another one.
  20. I'm bumping the thread with an update picture of part of the layout displayed at our LUG's exhibition.
  21. Actually, I'm one of the few that are not liking the new Town Square. For my taste, there's too many panels, and trans-blue windows are not my favourite. The highlights for me are the red bus, and the monument, although I can't see if the statue's hands are lbg or dbg? However, I can see the appeal of the set for many, offering many different features. Somehow, I see this set as a continuation of the City Corner and Public Transport sets.
  22. I'm bumping the topic with an update from this weekend's exhibition. I added more ''sea'' around the island. The most interesting observation from the exhibition was that the girls noticed mermaids and dolphins, while the boys saw only the Maersk ship in the back. However, there were a few who saw the rotating light as well. There's a few more pictures at my Flickr.
  23. I'm bumping the thread with an update from the Slovenian LUG's exhibition, held this weekend, where both villas were a part of the town display. There's a few more pictures from the event on my Flickr.
  24. I had a chance to see the car ''driving'' around a city layout, and it really fits in well. The car has its simple and recognizable shape. My favourite detail it the door, or rather its four doors. Well done.
  25. As I've seen this MOC on display, I praised it (and the builder) at the event. After a while, I did forget some of the details, so it's always nice to see it again. I don't know much on trains, but as I mostly build town buildings, this is something I only wish to make. The completeness of the MOC is its strongest part. It looks a simple build, but has many interesting and clever ideas incorporated and hidden from just a glance. The combination of red and dark red is really nice. The elevated platform is realistic and the arched constructions are as seen in UK (and probably elsewhere). And most of all, welcome to EB, Kivi.
