  1. Where did you see it? I can't find it as the link from a post above is not working anymore.
  2. Well done. This is a lovely brick-reproduction.
  3. This is fantastic. I just kept staring at the diversity of sea life. The colours are amazing, and the part usage is incredible. I love ''the sand'' bottom, with different bricks creating an uneven floor for sea life.
  4. This one is very recognizable. Even the over-sized barbecue looks great (and tasty).
  5. This looks very professional. I like the clean look of walls combined with glass and modernistic style.
  6. Oh, another great entry. I like your idea/style of building. You actually managed to keep the build in style with other WV series, but made it very unique anyways. To start, the shape of the house is lovely, with a rounded corner and a porch. The interiors is again ful, but not crowded. The colour scheme with some warm colours really fits in the winter atmosphere. Also, the top floor is very functional. I mean, you can't run a jewelery store without proper equipment for checks ups and safe storage. The additional sub-sets clearly show you're a romantic soul. The carriage is very sweet, and I totally wouldn't mind being proposed in a setting similar to your photo no. 4. What I like about your entry the most (beside being a great model), is a pretty original idea of a jewelery store and what happens before and after shopping there (a romantic carriage ride, and proposal). Good luck in the contest!
  7. This is definitely one of my favourite entries. I'm in the same team as you for skiing, so naturaly I'd go for a cup of chocolate or some spiced black tea instead of skiing. I like the style of the cottage, keeping it pretty simple with some extra colour on the facade and a small roof over the front door. The interior is even better. It's full, but not crowded. The sign seen through the door is a nice addition. Do you mind telling where did you get it? I like the small cafe tables, news stand, desk and bed on the top floor. You did a very good job!
  8. Thanks everyone for nice comments. My only western 'set' is the CMF Cowgirl. So this build was something that evolved as my first Western set. At the moment there's no interior, and it's not planned for now. Since it was planned as a house for a larger (group) diorama, I made it empty as the interiors can't be seen on the inside. But I might change that in the future.
  9. I'm not a cheese fan, but I like your entry. My favourite details are the ice sculptures.
  10. I agree with you on the front doors - to me it definitely looks like 1x2x5 trans-clear bricks, however, these were used in Creator's Lighthouse Island before. Grogal, thanks for news realese and HR images. I'm enjoying them very much. The price looks appropriate now, and I hope it stays. I'm not so sure about red baseplate though. Is it really that special? A dark red one would be much better for inner carpeting.
  11. Great. Thanks. Now I only wish it's June already.
  12. Since it's mid January, and no info has been released on booking the rooms by EB. I'm new on this, and maybe I'm a bit too anxious... What's the situation on this (and room responsibles)?
  13. Icecream cone is one of the new bricks I look forward. And it's definitely worth knowing you can make a 'flower' with three of them.
  14. That's amazing work! The idea itself is great (and unusual), however, the build is even more so great. I like the details (the black bird, owl, bread and chalices). The roof looks amazing with overlaying tiles - how stable is that? All in all, congratulations on the build!
  15. In general, I like the Friends theme. To keep it brief, I'm still not fond of the ladyfigs. As I bought quite a few of the sets (some even doubles), I had lots of the ladyfigs, but couldn't get myself to actually included them in my MOC (accept for the avatar). I traded them on BL, so I could get more sets (even Friends' sets). On the other hand, I love the new themes introduced with Friends' sets. Having more 'civilian' life is a nice change in everyday City. Also, introducing new colours/parts is fantastic as well. Despite some unusual approach to buildings with magenta roofs, the sets themself look very appealing and provide a nice and colourful selection of parts for MOCing.
  16. Your work is fantastic! I'd love to see it in person.
  17. I love it! It's a great entry. The combination of Duplo and Friends rabbit is a clever idea. Also, the colours are a nice touch. It looks fresh and original. Good luck in the contest!
  18. Can't say the exact hours, as I wasn't counting them. The lighthouse was build in a month, but I didn't work on it every day. It was maybe 5 hrs of work altogether for the building as it's simple and straight forward. The tricky part was including power function, easy access and a nicely shaped roof and terrace on top of it. This second part was much more time consuming. I'd guess it was more than 10 hrs. And the island part was build very 'quickly' - in two weeks time, again all together around 20 hrs. I mean, if you count the time I needed to chose colour for flowers, it was much more than that. It wasn't fiddly at all. The base was modeled after DC's Guide (praise). I tried different techniques for round structure, and his seems the best. I countinued with hinges and 1x2 bricks as it's less consuming, and also gives a nice contrast to the bottom ''stoned'' part. With hinges, you don't really get a completely round structure, but it has a nice effect anyway.
  19. It looks like I'll get one soon. Kindle seems a better choice as I'm living in a country from which you can't buy ebooks from some web stores.
  20. Yes, it is. And it's currently unoccupied.
  21. Thanks for a great review, Pandora! I was looking forward to see one for this set, as it's my favourite in the first wave of 2013 sets. I like it more for the new colours/parts than for the design itself. It's very reminiscent of the Park Cafe, but the rounded windows are still a fantastic feature. Including side windows is a nice touch. Parts-wise, the new sign is fantastic, and I already have in mind few ideas of how to use it in my future builds. As I don't have any Fabuland signs, this one is a must. It would be nice to see it in other colours as well (maybe pearl light grey or flat silver). The roof is a bit off, but I like the domes in purplemagenta colour. Overall, these Friends sets keep introducing interesting parts and are worth getting them for MOCing.
  22. Thanks, Kristel. The back is just plain wall of log bricks. I didn't even try to take photos, but I might do that by the end of the week. And the diorama will be done exhibited in mid April, so it's a while before it's finished. Thanks, I wanted a 'simple' look, with not many details on the building. And it was a straight forward build... I'm glad you like it despite not being 'simple'.
  23. This is a fantastic entry. The stone work in front of the house looks perfect, and the wooden shutters on the house add an alpine feel to it. It's the same with the interior and the extras - they are perfect. The smoke/snake is a nice detail. Good luck in the contest.
  24. It has a very classic feel. The building itself could be more decorated in my opinion. The walls are bare, and I'd add some details/overhangs on the facade (if your collection allows it). The interior is much more alive. I like the glass fence on higher floors.
  25. I was asked to contribute to a Western diorama that is in progress of our local LUG. Since this is my first build in the Western setting, I made it pretty simple. In addition to an almost dry tree beneath the main building, I added a smaller hut for more private use (toilet). C&C is welcome.
