Nice house. There are many nice details, I like the roof top decorations, and use of different shades of brown. Windows are also nice with stained glass, and the whole build looks perfect. One thing, that bothers me a bit is the water for the horse. Is it really ''sticking'' out or it just looks like it? The use of trans-coloured tiles is nice, to add a colour. Well done.

Golden lattice looks just fine in this colour scheme with lots of golden details. Unfortunately, glass for this type of windows does not exist. Would be great if it did!

Thanks, Grogall. You obviously have ''Friends'' in high places to get these pictures. From what I can tell from the photos, it looks as light yellow, it's hard to compares, as no other yellow seems clearly visible. If you look at the juices top, it's yellow, and slightly different than the walls.

Thanks for the nice review. This set has many playable features, but I'm not very excited about it. The cone (wish I could say the cones) is one of the highlights for me.

It's fantastic! I'm looking for a place to go to on summer holidays, and I wouldn't mind booking a room at your Cocoa hotel! There's so many fantastic details. All the snot builds are great, and adding many rounded structures give a special 'personality' to the hotel. My favourite are the details on the fence at the front, the rounded driveway with flowerbeds, the hotel sign and rounded shelves on the building. Also the colour scheme is nice in combination with geometrical shapes (squares, stripes and circles). The interiors is equally impressive, and again the geometrical style is nicely continued from the exterior. The glass wall near the bar is great, and the rooms are very stylish and spacious. I like the slightly different bathroom styles.

Nice MOC. The photo is fantastic though with the background. I'd prefer the trees to have more greenery, however with the rock greatly detailed and covered in greens, it looks really well done.

I'd suggest to go for Fire Brigade, if it's possible to get. I know its time is running out. It's a nice build, both exteriors and interiors, and could be MODed into residential building.

Eurobricks Event 2013 - Sign-up Topic

Calanon, if Sarah is taking one of the direct trains from Ljubljana, it's probably the best to meet with the group in Munich. And she can buy a train ticket directly to Gunzburg and just have a break in Munich. -
I never watch anything, partly as my desk is set at the back of the TV, and partly as the desk is too small (or too filled with LEGO) to fit my laptop on. Most often I have some music on, specially when I'm alone to build. Another habit that I have (and don't like) is that when building MOCs, I'm always left with a pile of unsorted bricks (the sorting boxes in even fuller than last time... ).

I've seen it on Flickr before and thought I'd missed it on EB. As commented before, another great house. I like the simplistic exterior - the facade looks perfect in dark red with hint of details in tan. The lonely flower on the roof is a nice touch, although not so much for the person staying in the house. The interiors surprised me. Including a carpenter caught in a moment of his work is a great idea. And the bathroom curtain is probably my favourite detail - it's fantastic. Having additional modules (gravel path and garden) is a nice touch to keep up with reality and to break a line of houses on the street. Great work (as usually).

REVIEW: 71001 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10
Redhead1982 replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks for another great review. I like the details on the minifigs, although this is not my favourite series. As I'm more of a City person, my favourite figs from this series are the librarian, the sea captain, the decorater and the grandpa. These I find the most usefull at least for my building plans. On the other hand, I won't be buying any Roman Commanders, Warrior Women or Revolutionary Solders, despite their interestingly detailed torsos. Distribution wise, I'm not fond of low number of librarians and sea captains, yet it's great news for fans of more historical themes to see a 6 of roman commanders (I know that as I live with one). All in all, Collectable minifigs were a nice addition to other LEGO sets, and they're still keeping the theme nicely fresh with many different designs coming up.- 114 replies

Extended Palace Cinema looks great. The Pet Shop buildings are probably the only ones that don't profit from an extension, yet the larger one (Cinema and Emporium) look impressive in slightly bigger size.

Andy, thanks for asking. My process is mostly imagination and free build. I'm actually terrible at drawing, but I have imagination - the problem is I cannot put on paper what's in my head. On the other hand, I tried LDD couple of times, but I don't have enough skill and patience for that. Also, free build lets me experiment with the bricks I have more. Usually, I have a basic shape in my head, then I go from there. Most of the details on the outside are added during the build, whereas the interiors are mostly done afterwards - it depends on the ideas. So, some finishing touches are added during the build, and some at the end.

Nice work! As said before, Haunted House truly is inspiring. Just watching all these amazing MOCs based on it, I might get myself another set to work on. Well done!

That's a great building. Actually, I had a bakery in mind for a while, and seeing yours is an inspiring start of a new modular. I like its corner position with a standard 90 degree angle and tile detailing on the facade. The roof on the side looks a bit off with the white trim around. Nevertheless, it fits nicely in the street view. Well done.

[MOC] My very first in Modular Buildings 16 X 32
Redhead1982 replied to TanTile's topic in LEGO Town
Well done! I like the way you used bricks from the Fire Brigade. The use of arches on the windows is a nice detail. And the simple interiors look just sweet - it's got everything you need, and who cares if a walk through a bathroom is needed to get to a bedroom, right. -
Yes, I admit, I'm a book worm. I guess the houses are partly made autobiographycally, that is, including elements I'd like to see in my own place. Most of all, go ahead and by the set yourself. As many have done, it's a great one for MODing and MOCing. Not to mention it's a nice build by itself. The stairs are a simple design, they're attached to two modified bricks with a stud on the side (alternatively, headlights would be ok). I wanted them wider first, but they'd take up too much space. So just don't tell the H&S inspection. And keep to the wall going up or down. It'll be two more weeks before the exhibition, but I'll post a picture of the diorama including these houses afterwards. Actually, you're the only one noticing them. I didn't do the decals, I got them from Flickr member eclipseGrafx - he's the one doing decals. Actually, it's a can of Bricka-Cola. Included in the garden of the grey house, there's a can of Brixi-Cola - if you can spot it.

[MOC] the Last Supper - Hobbit Edition
Redhead1982 replied to Legopard's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Lovely MOC. I like the idea of last supper, althoug I'm not so sure how the dwars and the hobbits feel about it. The nice curved wall stands out in the back - it's a great detail. -
Thanks, Paostmo. That leaf is challenging, right? It's an accidental by-product of my medieval diorama, where it got dislocated from the bamboo plant.

First of all, thanks for the great comments, everyone. Until pointed out, I didn't even realize how the tower on the sand green house is sticking out. It's true, the house looks better and more imposing from the side with the garden, terrace and the tower in the middle. I kept the tower intact as it is. Regarding simetry, there's a similar house in my hometown with a tower to the side facing the street, yet the entrance to the house is from the other side. I guess your flat/house wasn't made by the right architect, then. The drawers are actually an imitation of the ones I have in my flat from Ikea (Malm model). A larger garden would be nicer, indeed. However, my limit here was two make buildings for a specific spot in the town layout for an upcoming exhibition, and I had to consider the limit factor - the railway track going round the buildings on the side and the back.

This time I went for a different approach in modular building. Heavily inspired by the Haunted House, I wanted to create a stand-alone building with garden. From the start of the project, I was working in parallel on both of the houses, hence I am presenting them together. At the back of the house, there's lots of space that wasn't filled with details. The plan is to build a railway track in the back for the town layout of our LUG's upcoming exhibition. However, I wanted to add details to the back to see more life in town. There's a small barbecue at the back of the grey house, and a small siting area with wooden table and benches. The houses were built in similar style. It's obvious the sand green one is a MOD of Haunted House, while the grey one followed in style. My favourite details of both houses are the entrances. It's obvious, again, they were made by the same 'architect'. Both of the houses were made in modular fashion. The floors can be lifted to see furnished interiors. To start with the sand green house, there's a lovely corner just under the roof, in the bedroom actually, where the floor is in different levels, to make an easier access to the window, as well as to create a sitting area or just to make room for extra decorations. In the middle floor, there's a reading corner, to enjoy afternoons with a great book and relaxing in a quiet space. The other side of the floor is a bathroom - probably the most challenging build in the house. As it's crammed in a tight space, there's not much room for details. It has the basics (a bath, toilet and a sink) and a few pinkish decorations - it's a girls bathroom. The ground floor is the main area, there's a kitchen partly hidden under the stairs, and on the opposite site is the dining area. I'm quite happy with the kitchen, as I tried a ''different'' look. It gets hard not to repeat yourself with details. The dining area is parallel to a sitting area with a small couch and TV. There's also large glass door to the side porch and a view of the garden. The garden is small, but green. Also, it's facing away from the neighbouring house, so it's a nice and quiet place to relax. On the side, the grey house is more lively, with both colours and life. There's a similar floor arangement, with kitchen, diner and living room on the ground floor. This time, a TV set is hidden under the stairs, and a nice view of the garden can be enjoyed from the couch. The terrace is more open, and is only partly covered by sun shades. From the terrace, the garden is easily accessible. The terrace itself is one of the two favourite parts of the house. My other favourite part of this house is the daybed on the middle floor. It's next to a large window to enjoy the view. It's easy to imagine myself lying there, reading a crime novel, enjoying a hot cup of tea and watching snow falling down (or just daydreaming). There's a bathroom on the middle floor as well, a small one, and similar in style to the bathroom of the sand green house. The top floor is modestly furnished. It's a bedroom, so there's not much to see. My favourite detail is the bed with a book shelf included, that was inspired by one of the Ikea's models. If interested, a few more pictures can be seen on my Flickr.

Welcome! Your MOD is really nice. Haunted house definitely has a potential to be Creator's 3 in 1 set (or likely more than 3 in 1 set). Are there any more pictures of it, such as interiors or back of the building?

This is a lovely MOD of the camping sets. Parts usage is instantly recognizable, yet the structures are a surprise. The MOC itself is sweet, my favourite detail is the gazebo with lavender fields, followed by Blanca's blanket. The house in the back is nicely detailed as well, the addition of pink/lavender colours really lightens up the interiors. Well done.
