[MOC] UCS Nebulon B - Medical Frigate 'Redemption'
mechamike replied to mortesv's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I too must applaud this! Very nice job of transferring the iconic ship into Lego bricks.. The thin neck between the engines and the front part of the ship is surly no problem in the weightlessness of space , how about in your model? Was it a big problem? Does it hold the weight without careful support? (can You swoosh it ??) -
A Maersk ship thats not in Maersk blue? But biggest letdown is the stickers..and I will not buy any Lego model to display that relies on stickers to look nice. Sticker quality is awful lately, with stickers curling up an falling off not long after applying them. On smaller sets I can live with it but on expensive display models like this (and the ICS X-wing its a big NO-NO) Also seems odd to make a "scale model" of the ship with the ship in half scale of what should be proper scale.. Would have prefered smaller containers (not nessesary with print or in same colour) so that the right amount of containers would be onboard

Now Nijago is more back to the first concept sketch that was shown to kids. More vehicles and less organics like dragons like the fifth sketch they moved forward with. I must say I like Ninjago, it has good parts for a MOCer.. the new 2014 line looks like it has more good pieces.

Very nice!! especially the young one! I'm amazed that it doesn't tip over.. must be well balanced.. Also nice angles on the wings. I was thinking of another Penguin family when I saw the topic this one:

As said before very nice colouring! Always nice to see parts some consider as less usable incorporated nice in a MOC, The wall panels does their job great!

UCS 10227 B-Wing is going to be discontinued - now!
mechamike replied to Darth Dino's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I was planning on buying this ship as I really like the B-wing in the movies , but the pricetag here in Sweden was just way off. I agree that the prictag probably killed this on from getting of the shelfs.. It's still on the shelf at the local TRU but unless it sees a heavy sale it will not go home with me. aslo the use of stickers in UCS set's has made me hold onto my wallet even more.. I hope by discontinuing this there will bee room for another UCS and preferable in minfig scale as the MF or the Imp Shuttle.. -
Slim and clean, looks fragile but yet aggressive.. Would have looked nice with pink lime striping too.. (at least that what my daughter thinks)

I like classic space.. but if You want my honest opinion about the build I think there are some things that can be improved.. The mountain that the base is standing on is neat.. trouble is that your base resembles this a lot.. i think you are using the blue slopes to much irregular so that the base and the mountain blends in to much into each other. (Set the picture to black and white and If you have hard time following what Im aming at.) It looks like they painted the rock blue. I think a classic space base is built on surface , and sometimes into the surface, but its should never blend into the surface. it should stand out as something "symmetrical" with clear lines an colours in a barren asymmetrical moon landscape.. Please take this as constructive feedback and not bashing Your moc.

The Old Republic (SWTOR): Views on current and future sets
mechamike replied to Something_Awesome's topic in LEGO Star Wars
As a OT fan I was not so excited about the sets. Some of the sets are nice builds but they all end up in the parts pile, I find the sets good parts packs and they provide me with torsos that fits nicely for SW builds.. I picked up a few sets at discount and Im hoping to do so again since the sets don't seem to fly of the shelf's. -
[MOC] That’s no moon. It’s a super heroes station !
mechamike replied to R5-N2's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Nice crossover build. Im glad to see that Super bob got a a place at the bikini death star bottom. Would love to see other themes take over the place.. a "Death star : Total home makeover" competition.. -
Thanks for reviewing the set.. I'll walked by this in the shop a few weeks ago but the huge pricetag here in Sweden stopped me from picking it up. After reading Your review Im glad I made that decision.. Boba is nice (but I dont see myself doing a moc of his scenes as a kid). And im a OT fan anyhow.. The Scouttrooper is surely nice but Ill'l pass this set anyhow!.

Sleek design, Love the SNOT:ed text on the cockpit side..good use of the old flexitubes

Wow.. Great moc, full of nice details..I love the small shops.. It's nice to see "everyday life" SW moc's , just not the battle scene's..or famus scenes from the movies!

Very nice model, full of nice attention to detail.. Perhaps the use of brown and redishbrown would have contributed to a more worn look, now it has more of a Speederbike "of the shelf" kind of look. But that's a minor detail.. Nice presentation .. thanks for sharing! Also the following post made me smile.. and will serve me as a reminder to always make my USC models minfig scale..

One Mr Gold found in Sweden in a BR toy store by Swebrick member Scholm it was numbered 1464/5000. With the figures was also a code to be used in some sort of game on Lego web page , if info is correct.
