mechamike replied to nokialover31's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Hangar looks nice, it could use some more bricks and detailing, Also lose the ice raider.. and use fleshies or yelllow figs , mixing them just looks ..odd.. -

Do you always try to have a backlog of sets to build?
mechamike replied to BirdOPrey5's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I do have a backlog of set's to build.. It try to keep it around not more than 40 - 50 sets , Some set's i debox as soon as I get them even , to save space and to make sure i dont have to cry when opening a MISB set a few years later when it has gone up in price on Bricklink . Its nice to be able to go and fetch a few sets from the stash when i have fellow Lego friends over and build. Sometimes a hoard sets and let them sit o the shelf for a while like a wine maturing -
Very nice build, I was expecting an build of the exterior but was happily surprised! Good work , looking forward to see more Fawlty Towers builds in the future!

Well Im amazed that You manged to build the 10179 in only 4 hours .. but beside that, I think You should start with designing the inner frame and the outline of the hull before going for details like the landing gears. Is Your plan to build this in real bricks or is it going to be a LDD only model?

I agree.. I also must say I really like that in older SW set there were often more than just a ship an minfigs.

mechamike replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
When I and EB member Ras74 built a minfig scaled UCS we used the scale from this page. And then its not possible to fit the things mentioned above. When searching for info and pictures for the build we realized thet the AT-AT varies alot in sizes in diffrent scenes in the movies. And to be able to fit all things mentioned the size has to be bigger than what specified from the wiki page. -
First for the record I did not see it on the theater in glorious 3D but at home. When I watched the movie the first time I was a bit surprised it quickly turned so violent, My 4 y/o thought it was scary and she didnt want to look at it.(So it was just me and my 11 y/o that endured the entire movie. I had heard a lot of positive comments about it on the net, how "awesome" it was.. but I must say I was not that stunned, after the first scene from Emmets morning it was kind of downhill for me, I was waiting for the awesomeness to appear, but at the end, *enter real world and Will Farell I was like WTF??!! and i realized the story had more holes than my colander in the kitchen Im must agree that the kid was really the bad guy (building all those red pipelines over Dads town to glue the town down) and the AFOL dad? (oh lord why did they choose Will Farell for that role? He is as far from a father figure as you can come (well he could play another dad in a basement quiet perfectly i guess (Fritzel) . /end rant!

I'm getting cracks in the bows and holders
mechamike replied to Prince Manic's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Erland mentioned that ordinarily butter is a "chemical" that makes bricks more brittle, and there was discussions that people press to hard on the bricks when you put them together. But I have had cracked 1x1 plates and cheesslopes right out of the box from Lego, never assembled (by me at least) but still cracked, I found parts like this in the minecraft set and also in the legendary beast set.(not to the extent above) Perhaps the boxes has been stored in shipping in a to hot enviroment? I dont know. I also had a lot of brick that cracked the first time you put them together , (even so gently), So Lego seems to have something wrong in the line, may it be in the material or afterwards. -

mechamike replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I not sure if this has been covered already but my search didn't find anything.. (so sorry in advance mods if i done a mistake) The landspeeder trooper 8092-1, the Droid escape trooper 9490-1 and the Cantina trooper 75052-1 I took a comparison picture of some Sandtroopers, Is it a screw up that the cantina trooper leg-printing has grown bigger and therefore looks "cut off"? Or is it a new design to make it look.... different.? I noticed that some other figs also has leg prints that feels cut of , Ezra in the Phantom set has a half circle on his leg. I understand that Lego cant print on the lower part of the leg for some reason, but I wish that they had stayed with the old print on the sandtrooper legs. And perhaps skip details that will look cut in half on other figs.Whats Your opinion? -
Nice tower.. feels sturdy and secure, I like that You can open up to have a look at the inside !

Im on a tablet right now, but I transfered the lfx file to my dropbox to check it out later.( It would have been nice if you had added some screenshots ) Im also experimenting with a suspension system for a APC at the moment so im curious of what you have come up with. But im a but of a purist so any cutting is no no for me...

Youtube is smothered with lots and lots of different conspiracy videos and theorys that has no scentific leability what so ever that every tinfoil hat possile could come up with (oh..I to do love the chemtrail enthusiasts since i have backround in the aircraft industry. I, ll sometimes laughf my socs of that people really can be that ignorant of facts and the truth and twist things the wrong way just to persuade themselfs to belive in a hoax) Why would Youtube ever use time and money to supress any of the junk that conspiracy lovers , charlatans or other belivers put up as long as it dont violate the terms of use? Youtube wants to make money not waste them trying to supress the massive ammount of "i want to belive" stuff the users post. The only thing i fear is being supressed (in the flow of conspiracy theorys) is the real truth...not the tin foil stuff
