  1. All are very nicely done, but the real standout for me is the use of excavator tread pieces around the bottom of one of the trees, it represents real-life fences very well, the way the base is integrated with snot work also is a great idea
  2. Brilliant work, my favourite is no.45, it is one of the smallest but it captures the shape of the ship in such a genius and recognisable way, I also really like the cargo ships and Trade Federation landing craft, though all of the ships are very nicely done
  3. Yes, they are brilliant, I especially like the stinger mantis ( the larger one), the engines are especially well done, and the Kashyyyk moc is also brilliant, the microfighters are also very neat and the Zeffo tomb is also nicely done.
  4. Brilliant work overall, I especially like the incredible detail in the shopping centre and underground, and the construction site and the curved roads really are very sophisticated, is the curved unfinished section of road going to be a roundabout?
  5. Here in Australia we were very lucky, all of these sets released on sale at one retailer!
  6. Plus there is the microfighter available too
  7. Completed
  8. A bit earlier here in Australia, I saw them in department stores at the end of May, and we also have a lower price on one of the sets relative to the US prices in comparison to each other at stores (though not on S@H). I was unsure why we are getting them earlier when normally its the other way around I am guessing there was a specific supply issue in North America.
  9. I would be suspicious about some of the list as it is a new account and it is very early for a comprehensive list, however City has also had an almost complete list, but it does seem too good to be true, my main issue is the low price of the Y Wing which is lower than this years X Wing hence it seems odd, while the mandalorian battle pack also seems out of place especially with a similar pack only recently, I also think that the several relatively obscure BB sets seem strange and there was only two micro fighters in last years wave unlike the three here. My final issue is unless I missed it, there is no 4+ set
  10. Is this cement mixer the transport truck referenced in the original post? It would go very well with the mobile crane if it is a cement mixer
  11. It could be coincidence, but there was also a wildlife rescue friends theme before the city, and I think there have been other examples, however I would suggest that while it may be coincidental, I would assume TLG would somehow coordinate, but at the same time it probably wouldn’t be a large factor with the two distinct themes. I would appreciate that if it meant more complete civilian buildings but without the pink
  12. Welcome to Eurobricks @Batmaniac, A similar thread already exists for this topic, I have added the link above, if you wish you can ask the moderators to move this thread to the licensed themes forum or to that specific thread, I am not a Batman or superhero fan but am looking forward to seeing your ideas!
  13. While I share the frustration I am relieved that aside from the Mandalore Duel there are no obscene price hikes for this wave, The Artiquens price is the same as the FO star destroyer from 2018 and while there are a few less pieces the Artiquens is bigger and has larger pieces, though the exchange rate is still wrong. I am looking forward to seeing the prices at different retailers which are generally lower than Lego Shop, I am hoping the Artiquens will reduce to about $229 (when compared with the AT AT which was also between $40-$50 less) while the slave 1 will reduce to $75 and the Maruader to about $55, which at a 20% of sale might get down to $44
  14. They are privately owned by the original founder's descendants as you have said, whereas a public company is owned by shareholders. I agree, TLG won't bring back an old mould or reintroduce a new mould regardless of whether it would be profitable, if they can make more profit from using an existing mould in a different set. I think much of the reason why this is is mainly stylistic, as 16/18+ sets very rarely introduce new elements, the same is said for creator and I would assume that the reason 16/18+ sets do not have new moulds is an extension of the creator aesthetic from when 18+ was creator expert. I believe for most D2C sets, especially in licensed themes, they focus on iconic characters and scenes which generally already have moulds, and for unlicensed themes these are generally built at a larger or smaller than minifigure scale, so new moulds for accessories or headpieces aren't required (which is generally where new moulds for licensed themes go) or they depict modular buildings, winter village sets or microscale structures which really don't need new moulds.
  15. I think it is important to consider the costs associated with designing the moulds not including the actual mould or machinery. I recall from the documentary about the LEGO factory that prototype clay moulds were carved from hand taking significant time, whereas I would assume now such processes are computerised saving time and money, mould prices would be lower now and I assume TLG’s effort to make all parts in-house will also see the average rice reduce Also most internet sources are quite dated now and the maximum price often floated around of $200 000 generally refers to complex moulds like chain elements, also the price of new moulds is offset by set sales, so it is important to incorporate the sales of sets into whether a new mould is economical, furthermore, it is important to remember moulds are not the only consideration, regardless of the cost of a mould injection moulding machines and the factories that house them are not infinite, and supply lines need to accomodate many different new moulds as well as existing moulds, and this can impact how many new moulds can actually be introduced regardless of cost.
  16. It is something of a glass half empty/glass half full situation, though I appreciate where you are coming from. I agree with the Mandalorian fighter, while the wings are an improvement the major cockpit issues which the previous model did not have are a severe detraction and are a severe drawback, similarly the cruiser is underwhelming especially in regards to the interior. But there are also good sets, the Trexler marauder is a very good set as is the new Slave One. But I agree this new wave is lacklustre, if you are not a fan of CW S7, BB or the Mandalorian (I haven't watched it yet) there is little in this wave for you, and if you are, none of the fresh new designs are included, like the TIE Outlander, and instead there is another Slave I which despite being very well done cannot compare with its larger predecessors, a cruiser which first appeared a decade ago, the Mandalorian duel set is overly simplified and the BB shuttle is very divisive. There are no heavily requested designs which could have been inserted into this wave
  17. Same, I already have enough police and fire station sets so unless there is something new I will pay most attention to the hospital and civilian sets. I am hoping that these police/fire sets are something new for new figures and moulds. I would really like a classic car show sets, with the stunt show and nitro-wheels subthemes recently it would fit right in as the next automotive subtheme.
  18. I would really like an old vehicle as well, the only old fashioned vehicle in the city line was the combi in 2012, and it was done really well, so I would like more, I would also like a farming subtheme, a sheep or cattle transporter would be ideal and I would really like a dual moulded lamb mould. I hope this list is correct as I am excited for this wave. If the stunt show and my city sets are an indication I hope we will move back to 4-wide cars and I am looking forward to the mobile crane, horse transporter, school and hospital sets. Even teh fire and police sets sound quite good.
  19. Great build, the grass is brilliant and the building really captures the star wars aesthetic
  20. There have been three V wings, 2006 (Republic) 2010 (Imperial) and 2014 (Republic) plus a lot of foil packs, but I never got the chance to any so would like to see a V Wing again as well, though preferably a ROTS one, unfortunately however I cannot predict there will be many more BB sets with Andor and TBoBF, plus the ObiWan and Ashoka shows coming along soon, which will probably dominate the line up
  21. I think these appeared in 2011 in Ninjago sets and in red in 2013 in Ninjago sets as well, though I am not sure if they are the same part exactly
  22. Interesting, here we normally have gates which have to be opened so pedestrians stop, or the footpath has several bends so cyclists or pedestrians can’t go straight through, otherwise there are bridges or tunnels as @Vilhelm22 said
  23. I agree, they might try to sink the competition, I do hope that this rumour is true but there are many false ones floating around.
  24. Brilliant work, generally I like to leave longer compliments or posts when responding to MOC threads, but there is just so much great detail within that MOC that there would be too much to add without being unfair to the many fantastic details of the build. Great job overall, you should be very proud to have constructed this.
  25. Brilliant work, to fit RC functions into a 6-wide build is incredible, and the details on the build are very well done, especially considering the difficulty presented by having RC functions included.
