  1. Amazing work, the dome is very nicely done and very clever technique for the shuttle angles
  2. Great work, I really like the AT-TE and the microscale architecture is great, the handcuff pieces work very well to capture the classical style of the buildings
  3. *This entry has earned 14 XP (x2 LTC Bonus Applied)* This LTC entry refers only to the smaller craft underneath the main ship, and the display stand. As the main ship is too large for the LTC it will be submitted in a seperate entry. In an attempt to finally quell resistance on the planet Muunilist, CorSec has deployed the Andor, one of its powerful MC75 Star Cruisers, to support its starfighter operations and fend off Imperial Remnant fleets. Front, rear and side shots Support Ships Display stand (16x16) Thank you for viewing, and any comments and criticisms are welcome, once I have finished my builds for the ninth Factions episode, one of my projects will be to rebuilt this MOC with a proper technic frame, and better angles and proportions at the back, much of the interior is quite fragile as it used an ad-hoc construction method with sections added here and there in order to make the ship fit together.
  4. *This entry has earned 9 XP* A group of Pentastar Alignment death-troopers, aided by local insurgent groups, launch an assualt on essential infrastructure on Muunilist, aiming to hinder CorSec and New Republic operations. CorSec pathfinders are despatched to protect a fuel pipeline installation in the Muunilist jungle.
  5. Great work, and I really like the shaping of the trees, especially the pine, I really like the campfire as well
  6. The staff at the stores I have been to are always friendly and give advice to me on pieces to get at the pick a brick wall (however I wouldn't take it as I wouldn't consider 1x2 bricks as a 'rare' part), but I would assume that some have an interest in Lego. From a more cynical perspective though, regardless of whether they are a fan or just a staff member, they would recognise that as 16/18+ sets are expensive, and adult fans at licensed Lego stores are most likely AFOLs, they would definitely show interest in what you are building as a way of making a connection, hoping to drive sales and ensure you have a positive experience to come back to the stores, especially for adult buyers who aren't necessarily regulars or AFOLs, also they would use it to see what you are interested in to steer you towards similarly themed sets if possible.
  7. I don't think realistic train fans would mind it that much. Since we're not really getting anything new in the train area it couldn't be detrimental to train sets. With the exception of the Crocodile locomotive, 'realistic' trains haven't been available since 2013 (when they were released on a two-year cycle), so we've had to put up with city trains (which aren't that realistic) and the occasional HP and Hidden side trains, which aren't exactly realistic anyway and only offer good parts, so I would like a Monkie kid train. The only thing I know of that theme is that the sets are really big and not that badly priced, so I would appreciate a set in that theme, provided it has good parts and preferrably powered up functions.
  8. Thank you, I think the thing that is important when taking images like this is camera angle, generally images taken at the same level of from below are much the most dynamic, and for many images this is the main factor in making them stand out Thank you, I am glad the Star Wars feel does come across, as they mainly use less well known figures and vehicles Thank you, for these few good images there are many more that didn’t come out as well, much of the process of taking these pictures is trial and error, especially in terms of camera angle and staging
  9. Is it just me or does it seem that Lego Star Wars pricing here is Australia just gets more and more with each set, early 2021 was a reprieve with the very fairly priced X wing and TIE fighter, but, take for example the Duel on Mustafar set, which was 208 pieces, with two unique minifigures: AU$29.99. Along comes 2021 and with it Duel on Mandalore, 147 pieces, for AU$32.99 with one new figure, or the Bantha and Skyhopper with one new figure, with 198 pieces, for AU29.99, and with 2021 comes the AT-AT and Tauntaun, with only 7 more pieces and a same amount of new figures, but also experiencing a price increase to AU$32.99. It seems TLG are trying to inflate the prices of their smaller sets lately.
  10. I am wondering what in store pricing will be here in Australia, normally both Big W and Kmart have equal prices which are substantially less than S@H prices, however Big W mirrored TLG prices last year for all themes, however this year their new city sets are going to be at lower prices (even lower as they are being released on sale) so I hope that this will be the same for SW sets
  11. Brilliant work, the triangular traffic sign pieces capture the interior detail of the TIE and really elevate the model to the next level
  12. Great build, the micro city and shuttle is brilliant and the grill tiles for windows in the main building works very well
  13. Great build, while the ship is spectacularly accurate and detailed and the AT-ATs are great, my favourite part is the way you incorporated footprints for the AT ATs, the attention to detail is brilliant
  14. I saw that box, is it an official ‘set’ or is it a prank circulating on IG and YouTube. I know it has been rumoured before but I wasn’t able to figure out whether it was real or not
  15. I was thinking the 2003 Star Wars Republic Gunship, I figured out a technic mechanism and frame for a 'system-style' MOC I never completed, so I thought this might be a good opportunity to finish it in another way
  16. This was bit of a hobby of mine when I took photography classes, and was inspired by the works of Vesa Lehtimaki and his book Small Scenes from a Big Galaxy, as well as many other artists and MOCcers. I have never shared these photographs, though some are quite old, however I recently restarted this hobby, and have gone through and decided to share some of my favourite photos from the last five years in one post. This is one of my first 'good' photographs, with a MOC of a snowspeeder. This is a second 'Hoth' photograph, a landing of a U-Wing surrounded by minifigures, the first is my favourite, though the second is a more dramatic scene, achieved accidentally when I blew on the salt/bi-carb a bit too hard: This photograph come about after walking through the backyard and seeing some interesting weeds near a pile of sticks: This photograph is one of my individual portrait shots, but is probably my favourite: This shot reflects a more jovial scene and is one of my first attempts using actual fire in a photograph: This is my most recent photograph, taken only yesterday, it is the most heavily edited of all of the pictures, but takes advantage of natural sunlight: And finally, my favourite photograph:
  17. Looks great, the mini figure is incredible and I look forward to seeing the end result, for the torso, could a 1x3 or 1x4 wedge plate fit into the space, and I anticipate that there would be either a tile or sticker with the classic space logo
  18. Sorry if this was already asked, but are licensed original sets allowed for this contest, provided they were already a studded set, I understand regular classic system sets are, but I just wanted to check
  19. I cannot recall where it was said, but I remember they said their main considerations when making a figure is has it been done before and if so could they do it better now, I don’t think they explicitly said they don’t care about secondary market at all, just it wasn’t a priority
  20. I also like the neutral faces as I will find them quite useful, has crosshair's head been leaked yet, as its not visible on S@H like the others
  21. I can actually anticipate this set will be used in an actual fish tank by some consumers.
  22. Once, the Detectives Office never turned up for me, I called Lego customer service, and they sent a new set right away, (I was even able to get straight onto them by phone, without having to hold at all, near Christmas). While it takes time for them to get back to you sometimes, normally they are very prompt about rectifying issues like this.
  23. I wouldn’t say they have diminished, they did diminish when video games first become popular around the 90s, but profits for LEGO continue to rise, I think physical toys still have a place, and as probably the most iconic toy brand of its type, if not all, LEGO benefits from this change, I think the market which LEGO sells to is changing, which has driven sales online, and to adults
  24. I vote for #3 and #6 All are amazing and worthy entries and good luck to all the participants.
  25. I definitely prefer useful builds too, my favourite was 2011 when over four days across the month you built a whole winter police station, microscale suits Star Wars well, as it is an opportunity for vehicles which don’t normally get sets, and as a primarily vehicle based theme it works well for Star Wars, but city is much more than vehicles, and there is more opportunity to incorporate Christmas elements and builds, which microscale cannot achieve as well
