LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Stuartn replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It's not a gospel truth, just it lend some credibility, though nothing concrete. The source for the jabbas palace is the same that first rumoured the snowspeeder BP if I am correct. I am doubtful if it is a jabbas palace exactly, I would assume it is something similar to tie in with TBOBF, the AT ST which Promobricks leaked turned out to be not an 18+ set and much cheaper than originally rumoured, but still similar -

Good observation, it definitely lends credibility to the Jabbas palace rumour, as Mandr is usually accurate -

I am aware of the figures, but generally there will be other parts for accessories, for example the HP pack has wands, books and a table included, in the context of SW, the most figure-related accessories could be exemplified within the OT and PT, though I would be open to other set ideas -

The FO stormtroopers, with the exception of pauldrons and the belts which have already been represented as printed, don't really have anything you could really accessorise them with. Supposedly you could, but I feel that these packs would be much more valuable if they were clone or OT-based, for the purposes of MOCing and getting new and interesting parts. ST figures are, after these few years, much more accessible so from a collection standpoint I feel they wouldn't be as desirable either. -

I hope its not, and hopefully it is geared towards clones, rebels and stormtroopers, as you cannot really accessorise ST era figures. Hopefully if there are named characters they are minor ones, such as imperial or rebel officers, and maybe less significant CW-era figures. I hope these aren't online exclusives as they will sell out quickly, especially if there are desirable massable figures -
[REVIEW] 42131 - CAT D11T Bulldozer

Great review, I am not going to get this set, not because of price as I haven't been following that commentary, though I agree with your price assessment, just as it isn't a set I want (you did convince me that I wanted the tow truck though), but just complimenting you on another great and fun review and impeccable photography, it does look like a very nicely designed set. -

I completely agree, it is important to remember the UCS sets have to appeal to a wider market than the hardcore SW fanbase and Lego fanbase. The landspeeder is just as recognisable, if not more, than the A Wing, Y wing and many imperial vehicles which have been allocated UCS sets, and, as has been described, it could be a very functional and aesthetically pleasing model which will generate interest. It is also important to remember that we cannot judge what consumers want based on the small section of the Lego Star Wars community, often the more vocal opinions will be from PT era fans, simply as the generation who will frequent online areas more often, when much of the broader appeal of a Landspeeder UCS set lies with older fans who have more nostalgia for the older movies. Additionally the landspeeder, despite only being in one movie, had very memorable scenes in which it was shown in great detail, and had a much broader audience than much of the current SW content. I am not sure why the landspeeder is much more despised from an OT vs PT standpoint when we otherwise could have got another TIE or something else OT related, when the landspeeder could very well be, and probably will be, a much more aesthetically appealing and functional set. The target demographic is different from those who purchase the constant stream of system scale landspeeders which don't really do the landspeeder justice. -
Very nicely done, I appreciate the grey colour scheme and the proportions and details are magnificent Great technique for the cockpit section

"This is not the UCS set we are looking for". I would appreciate a nicely detailed C3PO. I have the polybag version but would appreciate the nicer looking OT minifigure with side printing -

Good point, though I am excited for the UCS landspeeder. Its not an exciting choice but there are a lot of details the system sets don't really capture. There is also an opportunity for a nicely detailed interior, which would be visible in a landspeeder, unlike other UCS sets which are normally spacecraft. If it does eventuate the Lego SW fanbase will need a new UCS set to joke about - UCS First Order AT ST perhaps? -
Just don't worry, politicians and Disney have worked that way for years I completely agree with everything Peppermint_M said, things don't have to be exactly sensible, sometimes though, form will follow function, and if you feel adding details for that improves your MOC, then feel free to go with it, if there are parts limitations, as has been said previously, creating your own solutions through creativity (building or storyline) can work out well. A removable roof could be good, but also building halves of a building, or open backed, could fix that specific issue, its a shame to hide all details inside.

The official sites, Bricks and Pieces and Pick a Brick, as well as Bricklink are all good. The first two I prefer as the postage is calculatable. B&P is sometimes more expensive with some parts than PaB but has more range (foliage pieces being a good example. It depends what you are after, most licensed parts are only available on Bricklink and the Third Party sites.

That's what I thought as well, as its a lot less colourful than Boba Fett, it seems to have been reproduced by reliable channels but I will wait and see, the image of a MOC seemed somewhat colourless, but as someone who only collected the imperial helmets, it may fit in with what I like if it is more muted in colour. -
Remote Controlled Stunt Racer: Gimmick?
Stuartn replied to metalgeekzy's topic in General LEGO Discussion
MAB is correct, it can be used in that way, but there won't be a return to centre function. With PU program the powered up motor to return to centre, but not PF That set is the most cost effective PU solution, that said it cost much more than the RC stunt racer, you just need a smartphone device as well. -
I don't think a damp cloth should damage a box, unless the box is damaged, so be sure to cut an sticky tape and separate the cardboard flaps with a knife when opening, and wipe towards the edges, so the exposed cardboard isn't dampened. If the box is unopened, same principle should apply Otherwise, a dry cloth should work, or a vacuum cleaner

I wonder if its more that there are a lot more AFOLs too, so there are more people noticing, little mistakes PR-wise may not have mattered, as the primary audience was solely children who probably wouldn't care about OT vs PT even if they were aware of the difference, but now they are getting picked up by an expanding AFOL market demographic. Back on topic, is the leak for a Din Djarin helmet in 2022 reliable? I haven't heard of leaker before so wasn't sure whether this is true, normally helmets are leaked together as well Its been reposted a couple of times but still not sure of accuracy -

Good to see more substantiated rumours coming in, so we have a Hoth Imperial BP and a Razor Crest MF. I am also guessing the other MF set will also be Mandalorian related -

I'm looking forward to seeing the hospital, especially knowing that the helicopter will be enclosed (not the incomplete things we normally get), the design sounds quite good, I just hope it has a proper ward with more than the one bed this time! -
Brilliant work, the functionality is great, your builds are always impressive but that is by far the most spectacular, great work

There is also a speeder bike, a snow wall and a rumoured minifigure stand, however it is speculated that could be a photoshop error on a preliminary image. I hope this signals that there will be a rebel battlepack as well. But for 105 pieces, of which at least 20 will go to figures and weapons and I'd assume at least 12 on the E-web it does seem like a lot -

I agree Hoth Troopers aren't the most exciting, they are already so available it pretty easy to amass a substantial amount without really trying. If one is a commander or something that could be interesting, a speeder bike would be nice if done properly, and the cannon and snow wall sound interesting, depending on how they're done. What would make the set will be the scout trooper if it is done well. Its cheaper than the 501st pack, so I would guess it will be about $35 here in Australia, anything more would be a bit steep. -
It appears to be a window rather than an engine which is what I'd assumed
