  1. As great as the blacktron mech is, I don't like mish-mash of blacktron I and II. We either need yellow or lime green. I know they had a blacktron II call out already, so they should have stuck with blacktron I.
  2. I think physically next to each other since two pictures went be at the same size or angle. The Kingdoms castle looks like a smaller picture. But thanks for putting that together. I wonder how many people own both of them to do this?
  3. I will buy all of them without seeing pictures... In LEGO I trust. I received all of the sets for my birthday last year, so I might do the same this year. If Laketown Chase is any indication, I think the whole line will be a smash hit.
  4. Brilliant! All of the figure placement seems spot on for what I'd expect. I love the pyramid and the guards at the bottom with the ruler up top. Very nicely done. The ground looks simple and clean, but it actually works really well. You don't always need lots of shrubbery to make a good landscape and this is proof of that.
  5. Those are very interesting. I also love castle building and modulars and mini scale, so this is right in for me. I'd like to do something like this, but I doubt I ever will. You definitely are getting a good scale going on though. Keep up the great work!
  6. This has no bearing to the topic at hand, so I'll be brief, but in my field, women easily outnumbered men in each graduating class. I think a lot of it is the times allowing more women to enter those fields (for some reason not a lot were valued for their minds in earlier generations) and LEGO is finally getting around to adding more females in their sets and whatnot. As far as those pens go, I've never seen them before. I don't think I'd ever use them, but I did have a little LEGO figure flashlight that I misplaced, but it was fun to play with for a while. I may have to look for a new one of some Licensed character sometime.
  7. Definitely impressive and I do plan on getting it eventually, but I'm not entirely sure if I will keep it displayed. The pieces will come in handy for sure for other builds. I do like the curves they accomplished with the pieces used though. To me, I'm more akin to the Tower Bridge as a display piece for some reason. But this is impressive. Thanks for the review.
  8. I never knew Walgreens sold CMF. I was surprised to see they started selling Contact Lenses also. So far here in Nebraska, I've only seen them at Target. I don't go to TRU, but I'm sure they have them. I haven't seen any at Walmarts yet, but they normally get some eventually. We don't have Kmarts here, but the Kmart equivalent ShopKo usually doesn't get too many, but I have seen an older series there before. But their prices are worse than TRU, so I don't go there often either.
  9. Someone mentioned that a series might be linked to the MMO game that LEGO is doing. There are some cool figures in there, so that might be a cool idea.
  10. Discounts are always nice, but I never knew of LEGO coupons, so I've always purchased all of these at full price. But typically I buy them during Double VIP points month, so I get at least some "money" back. Or if they have some good exclusives to give away for free. As far as that goes, I didn't receive a coupon in my LEGO catalog that I received recently. It seems a lot of people did, but for some reason I didn't see one in there. Not that it matters since I don't live near a LEGO store anyway.
  11. Very impressive. The scale alone is impressive, but the design aesthetics really work on this. It is inspiring and makes me want to finish out my ship projects, but I doubt I ever will. Keep up the great work!
  12. Very interesting thread idea. I think a lot of people can relate to these questions. Do you have a lot of LEGO sets, which occupy a lot of living space? I have many sets. I think Brickset had it at over 600. As far as actual space, some built sets take up a handful of display shelves in the office and in the basement, but most of the pieces are elsewhere. Nothing is in sight of the main living area though. Did you buy many LEGO sets, but never open. and keep it unopened for years? (thinking about resale, regift, part-out LATER, but never happened?) I have a handful of sets unopened still, but mostly due to lack of time or not sure where to display them, so they stay in the box. Most sets get opened to take out the minifigures to keep or sell. But nothing major for resale. As patient as I am, I'm not that patient when it comes to investing. I want it immediately. Did you buy many LEGO used pieces but still sitting in the bins and never have time to sort them out? Always. As the LEGO movie poster indicates, Forever Sorting. I have a good majority of my pieces sorted by color/use, but there are still a few small boxes that aren't sorted yet. Do you have have many unfinished MOCs from..like years? More than I'd like to share. I get started on a lot of projects, then my interest fizzles out. I eventually finish them all, but I try to only build MOCs with my existing pieces. I don't like ordering pieces for MOCs, so it limits my ability to finish some projects. Do you keep all the instruct books, all the boxes..even the LEGO club magazines. the sticker sheets and LEGO catalogs? even the plastic number bags?? I have all of my old 80/90s set instructions and club magazines, but since getting back into LEGO as an adult in 2010, I have kept all of those boxes along with the instructions. I have no use for the plastic bags, so I throw those out. But I like the artwork on the boxes. I guess if I ever resell anything, those will come in handy, but I should just keep the instructions since they normally have the same artwork on them. Do you think "I have too many LEGO pieces" but still buy some more when you think it is cheap enough? I always think I have too many (in general), but I never have enough specialty pieces I need for projects. But I have tons that I will never use, so in reality I do have "too many" pieces. Do you not only buy some LEGO sets. but also some watches, key chain, playing cards, magnet or even eraser/notebook? I only buy sets/figures. I guess we do have a set of magnets for the fridge, but only because we had never seen them anywhere before. My wife did buy the LEGO people window decal for the car instead of the stick figure decals. I guess that cements that we are an AFOL family. what do you think ? anything wrong? After thinking of these questions, I can say I am not a hoarder, but a collector/hobby enthusiast. I don't buy everything LEGO and keep them stacked for years and never touch them. I build/play with my daughter, so I think I actually get use out of it all.
  13. That garage looks great. I am not too familiar with automotive garages, but this looks very fitting for me. The exterior also is very fitting for a standard modular downtown setting. I think you really knocked this out of the park. I liked the dark orange (but that may be because I have none), but that dark red and dark orange combination looks really good. And I like the added "house" to finish out the exterior. I am a sucker for nice looking street lights, so I may have to borrow some of the ideas. I keep trying to come up with something that looks very ornate, but has that classic feel to it. I bought a lot of the black poles, so I will finish it out sometime. I have my own idea, but I like both styles of yours too. Keep up the impressive work! Our LUG is also called LOLUG (same phonetically, but spelled differently)
  14. I'd love to see the many many wheels also! This build looks great. Very fitting to the actual character. I think only this scale can do it justice without molded parts. Very nicely done! Keep up the good work!
  15. Very neat build. The scene itself is funny and well done. I will have to agree the snake head is near perfect. I may have to "borrow" that design for the Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets build I want to do in the future. I actually was underwhelmed with the tikis unfortunately. But I'm glad you like them and they work really well here.
  16. I don't understand the love for the battle of five armies. I just read the book the other week (for the first time) and it seemed there was some brief fighting and then Bilbo was knocked out so we missed it all. Of course, the figures might be interesting. As far as I can tell lego has done wonders with what they were given.
  17. Very impressive. Mosaics always are impressive, but the scale of these is even more so. I'd love to do a mosaic sometime, but too many pieces. Maybe someday! I think the Batman is really impressive, but that Iron Man speaks to me for some reason. And impressive people. Looks just like them.
  18. I finally found some at a Target near me. It was pretty picked clean by the time I found it. I think it had every single mountain climber and female robot still. Thankfully I did find a waitress and a scarecrow and 2 gingerbread men. I then ordered some randomly from Shop at Home and got about 5 more that I needed and 5 duplicates (more female robots). I did get 2 Christmas elves. I am not liking the many different shades of green. It looks off. Has anyone else had that issue? The hat, torso, and legs all look like different greens. And that is on both, so I assume that is how it was designed. I also noticed the roller skates on the waitress don't stick to anything. They will stick to her sort of, but if I try to put them on a stud, they literally have no clutch. I recall the roller derby girl having great clutch power with her skates. So sad...
  19. There are some incredible entries so far. I thought about entering, but honestly I can't compete with these. Too many to name. Voting would be really hard for this competition. I can('t) believe the creativity with a lot of these!
  20. I also would like to see an Avatar theme. I have zero interest in the film series. The first one was incredibly long and boring. However, seeing those figures as LEGO characters would be cool to see. Narnia of course would be neat for some of the fantasy creatures, but maybe that MMO game will include some. The screen shots looked like there were some creatures that might be included in the CMF line-up, if that is true.
  21. I don't recall seeing any in our magazine we got the other day. But the regular catalog didn't have a 10% coupon like a lot of other people mentioned either...
  22. I was wondering why I haven't seen the planets around here. I still see series 1 and 2 sometimes. I bought all of them and actually wanted series 4 the most. So of course they won't be available here...
  23. I recently purchased the T-Rex helicoptor set from 2012. Not sure on the set number, but the helicoptor falls apart just by looking at it. It has to be one of the worst built sets I've encountered. I only wanted the set for the T-Rex since I found a used copy of the set as much as the individual T-Rex goes for on bricklink. But the set is subpar. I will have to part it out sometime, but I have little use for that color scheme.
  24. I don't normally eat and build at the same time, mostly because of the effects it may have on the bricks. Whenever I get hungry, I just go to the kitchen and have a snack and a break at the same time. Normally it is something simple, like a yogurt cup or a granola bar. Typically the break ends up taking longer than I actually was building. Something else comes up around the house that I need to take care of and never get back to building. Very interesting snack ideas from a lot of members here. I wouldn't have considered some and have never tried others.
  25. If those titles are correct, I am getting more excited for this wave. Anything with more Elves is okay by me. Hopefully they would have elf hairpieces though.
