  1. I think having a Simpsons CMF line-up is smart and not smart... confusing I know. Smart because the major point of the Simpsons is the large cast (has anyone seen that poster of all of the characters?) and how they interact together. Yes, there are certain places that would be good for sets as well, but to achieve the full cast, it might be easier to start off with a CMF line and see how they sell. But I will agree it isn't the smartest choice only because no one needs an army of any of those figures. I can't think of anyone that would be a good "army builder." With that said, the target audience probably doesn't army build anyway. It's us AFOLs that want multiples, not the random bag purchased. If those happen to be multiples, then they will probably buy more until they get what they want. But more than likely they weren't planning on buying an army of Ned Flanders or whomever may be in the series. But back to it being smart, it may be harder to feel the packets if the bodies are molded also, so TLG may get more money from us CMF regulars... As far as other licensed themes getting CMF line-ups, I don't see that happening. Especially with how successful the SW battle packs have been, if they continue that trend with castle and the stellar $20 sets in the Super Hero line, people will continue to buy the sets for the figures. I didn't know Megablocks had a Super Hero CMF line. I wonder how they did in relation to MB sales in general? I don't know how well that company is doing, so I don't know how well other companies CMFs sell compared to TLG's.
  2. Thanks for sharing the pictures. They definitely look awesome. I am excited for this wave. I will probably buy a few extra of the cheaper sets to flesh out some armies, but I never go too crazy with multiples since I have too many themes to make purchases of. I like seeing all new prints on basically everyone. That will be a nice touch. It doesn't bother me at all to re-use the same hairpiece for elves/orcs, I just wish they would include more of them. The green hoods are fine, but I want more Elf hair with ears personally. I think the builds are quite nice, at least in the small pictures. I have only built a few of the Middle Earth sets, so I don't know if I'll get around to building any of these since I mostly just want the figures. However, the pieces that will be included will come in handy with other builds I plan on doing in the future. So win-win for me.
  3. I'll have to go home and look. I never noticed it either, but then again I never really looked that closely at that figure. I wonder what the significance is?
  4. I actually thought Daredevil looked pretty good. I guess the only difference is if they had a zabrak horn type piece for the two horns, but I like the printed version just fine. Seeing that list of figures is impressive. I'd love to see all of them made, but I know we will have to wait many years for that to even consider becoming a possibility.
  5. Thanks for the review. I'd love to pick one of these sets up, but I also have never really looked in that department of the website, so whenever I place an order I forget to look there. I wonder what the people at work would say if I built a nicer looking one for my business cards.
  6. This looks great. My dad is really into woodworking and I thought about having him build me one. This is a great example of what I'd be looking for, only I'd have one shelf a little larger to allow more room for the big figs. I also wanted to have glass/plexi-glass in a door on the front to keep out dust. My dad did that with other display shelves he has built. But this looks great! I hope you have a lot of fun with this. It seems like it would fit in well with any LEGO room. Please share dimensions if you can. I'd love to copy it in overall size.
  7. People complaining of 3 figures for a $20 set, keep in mind almost all of the Super Heroes sets (which are also Licensed) have only 3 figures in their $20 sets, and those sets were some of the best sellers and best designs/figure placement. So I wouldn't be surprised if they have 3 figures for that price again. Plus, wasn't Shelob Attacks 3 figures for $20 also? That seems to be the trend. As far as descriptions go, I think these will be the best sets Middle Earth has offered us so far. Plus, more dark red leaves!!
  8. I've heard of a limit of 2 before in stores and 5 online, but never of just one. Even a lot of limited release exclusives still had limit 2 per customer. Very odd they would offer a second without points. The only justification I can see there is really having a limit of 1, but they let her buy a second copy and she wouldn't get points because she isn't a VIP member, but you are, and they aren't allowing other people to use your VIP card to make purchases. So it makes sense, but odd nonetheless.
  9. Some of those look pretty horrendous. I would definitely recommend checking with their customer service. If they have any questions, you have photographic proof, so that helps. I have had my over-share of bad pieces, but yours takes the cake there.
  10. Those names and proposed prices sounds very worthwhile. I think these sets are what I am most looking forward to. The castle set will have multiples purchased if they are using vintage designs (meaning crusaders or black falcon). But they might have kingdoms instead.
  11. I find it interesting how there are some similarities to this and the new restaurant, yet how different they are. This looks really different to the final GG product. I've been bricklinking GG and I may have to make it a double wide website like that . That looks really neat. Although I think the feathers work a lot better in the new restaurant. Thanks for sharing your input. It's neat to see the design process.
  12. This is impressive. I love that it has working functions. The decal works really well here. I remember looking this up when you first talked about it and it is strikingly similar to the source material.
  13. I think you will make a profit on the FB because people will always want the older modular that they missed out on. However, they probably won't pay as much for it like the CC and GG simply because there isn't anything that rare in the FB, plus the first two weren't available as long as FB. As far as that many extra pieces, you are incredibly lucky. I haven't heard of that. I 'lucked'out and received one of the sets that was missing a lot of pieces instead.
  14. ^ I agree that General audiences are probably buying more of the sets anyway and since they would correlate with the movie being released instead of strictly the book, it might appeal to them more. I didn't much care for the book or the first movie (but I loved LOTR). I still buy the sets for pieces, New torsos and to continue on with the theme. Obviously I'm not Joe Public, but I'm sure I fit into that group of people who like the idea of middle earth, so we go with the flow.
  15. Looks great. I never had any intention to light up my city, but this is inspiring. I wouldn't even know how to get started, so I will probably not go this route, but thanks for sharing. It looks great!
  16. These look great. I may have to try my hand at these. My daughter would love these.
  17. Initial excitement gone...I'm hoping these aren't official, but if they are i guess I can save some money for other sets. If probably still want the house, but the figure pack will be skipped.
  18. It has 1x1 sand green tiles listed. I'm pretty sure those were only in a couple of sets over 10 years ago. I know this because I need a lot of those for my Hogwarts project.
  19. The smiley side is weird looking. Thanks for sharing.
  20. I'm glad we get more of that hair. I wanted Faora mostly for that hair, so now I'll have multiple copies. Nightwing is okay looking, but I'm more excited for Batgirl. Thanks for sharing!
  21. It is a good idea to source the parts unless you want everything exact plus box and instructions, then you log as well go original. I am currently sourcing parts for cafe corner, but I've made lots of changes, but I'm keeping the exterior the same. I found an online instruction page and I don't care for the box, so long run it will be lots cheaper. Plus off realized I can modify things that are better/more appealing. I can't design the set, but I can change it.
  22. They say you are not supposed to sell that stuff purchased from them. So obviously some idiot will and get the whole program shut down for fans that actually legitimately use it for the intended purpose.
  23. RednWhite - Any modular will be worth the money. The pet shop is nicely done and probably a good gift for smaller girls. However, the fire brigade and grand emporium are retiring before that one. So consider that. I think both of those were times to be leaving this year. Each set had a lot of great features. My first was the fire brigade and it is still my favorite even though I have no affinity for firefighters. Probably just because it was my first is why it is my favorite. ep3_lol - you can't go wrong with the haunted house. It is beautiful once together and a very fun build experience. I'm surprised you like the cinema so much since most people are saying how disappointing it is. But if that will be your first maybe that is why you aren't swayed (you don't have 'better' sets to compare it against). The car could definitely be improved too, but that isn't too day overall the set looks good. I plan on getting all of the modular, so they all have redeeming qualities. The Vienna did just come out this year, so grand emporium, fire brigade, and pet shop will be going away sooner. So consider that.
  24. Great motion capture. Definitely sells it with the papers flying. Keep up the great work.
  25. My daughter will freak for this theme, so I'm sure I'm in For the entire line up. But Rapunzel is her favorite also, so that one will be purchased first I'm sure.
