Discussion Topic: Should there be a 2 storey modulars series.
TheLegoDr replied to Legoofmyleg's topic in LEGO Town
I prefer how the official modulars are right now. I like the extra height and width. But naturally the detail and techniques are what are important to me the most. But I like how the size is now. I don't like the smaller CITY buildings. I'd love to see more 16 wide buildings. I don't picture LEGO ever making a smaller priced set since they sell so well at the price they currently are. -
Almost all of those set names sound promising. Friends really has some of the best sets out there. My daughter will probably go crazy over these. I'll wait to see if I want to pick up any extras for myself. I hope the Lemonade stand has some new pieces. I'd love to see a clear cup colored in (like the beakers) to make it look like there is lemonade in there.

What is Your Favorite Wave 2 LotR Set?
TheLegoDr replied to Deathleech's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Anything with elves wins out for me. Arwen is beautiful . The arches are neat, the Orange leaves are awesome and the color combination of olive, pearl gold, dark orange works really well. I have Orthanc and I like it okay, but I wouldn't vote for it here.- 25 replies

I don't have as much of a connection since my first start wars movie was phantom menace. Thus set looks decent and every fan should have a sail barge in their collection. I would love more figures, but the line up is good. I mostly just want Leia. I originally wanted the weequay, but I don't know of I like the back with long hair as much. I'm surprised they made Leia with very little clothing on, yet they changed the design of Wonder Woman to give her more clothes. Thanks for the review. I think I will end up picking it up.

All it takes is a new print to be considered new. They could add a slightly different color somewhere and call it new. Since I didn't get the last Grievous, this one will be a guaranteed purchase

I'm glad and disappointed in the DS BP. I would love to have had some stormtroopers or other guards of some sort. Maybe 1 of each to round out the 4, just to add some variety. I will definitely pick ONE up, but there won't be much need to buy multiples of this "battle pack." I thought the whole point was to build up armies and stage battles. Maybe I'm wrong there. But I like getting some Royal Guards since I don't own any. The rest of the sets are pretty meh to me so far. I'll have to wait and see how the final product ends up. I guess I can hope I continue to not like them to save up money for other themes. I was thinking of cutting SW to make room anyway, but it looks like LEGO made the choice for me. Huzzah!

MOC: Antarctic Snow Cruiser - An Epic Vehicle
TheLegoDr replied to bigboy99899's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I've never heard of this but looks really interesting! That plane looks especially awesome. Great rendering. Have fun building it in the brick if you ever get a chance to. -
Poptropica Cuusoo gets 10K supporters!
TheLegoDr replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I've never heard of this either until I saw people talking about it for CUUSOO. But then again I've never heard of Minecraft either and that seemed to go over really well in LEGO form. I guess I'm just out of the loop with today's games. As far as I'm concerned, I hope it does pass review so it will be one less thing I will buy. Help me save some money. If something I want passes review, then I'm out the money. See the dilemma? -
I'd love to pick up an Eiffel Tower! Thanks for the news.

Breaking Bad lives LEGO meth lab on Citizen Brick.
TheLegoDr replied to rubberninja's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I think a RV set would be brilliant. More so than the lab personally. I think the figures are great, but I don't care for the lab. But at that price, I would just use decals to create my own instead of printed customs. Waaay too much money for something so small. But well done. -
Lego Creator Expert 10234 Sydney Opera House
TheLegoDr replied to GRogall's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I completely forgot it was released early for VIPs. Congrats on your purchase. I can't wait to build it whenever I pick it up. I thought it was officially licensed. I wonder if that added to the overall price?- 127 replies

One word: Awesome! Very fitting. The only qualm I have is no Slimey the worm. Great use of the spike piece. I didn't even know it came in green. I may have to look into some of those for the future. Keep up the good work. Best of luck!

I like the idea of the dc sets, but I can't help but wonder if the riddler got a new outfit, why wouldn't penguin. Making, yeah he is in an expensive set and a cheap set, but it might not be the same.

Smithnb42 - everyone has their interest. I like most licensed themes and the modular sets, but don't really care for the architecture sets. The monster fighter sets were fun and give a great classic Hollywood vibe (or for me out was my childhood Monster Squad), but they are discontinued in a lot of places do they may be hard to find for you.

Pleygo: Netflix styled Lego Rental?
TheLegoDr replied to Legononymous's topic in General LEGO Discussion
That's a lot of money per month that could be buying other Lego! Try before you buy is a good idea, like see how certain elements are put together. Or I could just look at the instruction manual for free online. -
I'm interested in this list. I will have to wait for pictures of course since I know very little about about the SW universe. If it wasn't for LEGO SW, I wouldn't know who anyone was outside of the pop culture icons. The battle packs sound good. I may have to get some of them. The recruitment line sounds interesting. I liked the planet sets, so it is too bad they aren't around anymore. So I'm hoping this mid scale set will be a nice display piece. Although I don't know how many more x-wings I need. I still need to get the UCS version I guess.

Review Review: 21103 Back To The Future Time Machine
TheLegoDr replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
These mods look great. I will definitely do that whenever I get around to buying one. It's amazing how many people want to mod this thing. Obviously that is the point of LEGO, but still, odd that so many people want to change this official set. I think that says something.- 207 replies

Even if there isn't another company with a license, it doesn't mean LEGO would profit from any number of tv shows. I've watched one episode of Dr. Who and couldn't get into it. Maybe it's a great show, but I don't plan on giving it a chance. I don't speak for everyone, but as you can see with The Simpson's, a lot of people love it and hate it, but it has a lot broader appeal than some of these other shows. My daughter loves Adventure Time, but I don't find it that funny. I think it all depends on the audience. If they grabbed that license, sure it might sell well or it might flop. LEGO obviously does their research and has a pretty good track record with sales -- look at Friends. I didn't picture them getting The Simpson's, but I definitely don't picture them grabbing a lot of these licenses. It's like Oky said, maybe they are trying to broaden their age range? If it is strictly a 6-12 target audience, then they should technically be removing a lot of things from their line-up. Since that isn't the case, I can only imagine they are trying to aim at older teenagers/adults to keep interest alive. Hook 'em when they're young and give them something to continuously want. That right there is good financial stability..

Basically, what everyone else has said. No one knows the exact times when something gets put on a sale price or MSRP. The only assumption is it will be at regular retail price again soon. Patience will be the key here. Otherwise, buy from LEGO and use the Amazon giftcard for something else you want.

The farm would be a nice touch. I'd love more animals, although these will be Friendsified so they won't fit in as easily with my other non Friends animals due to the playful eyes. My daughter might really like them though. I'll have to wait and see pictures. I still need to pick up some sets from this year's release.

18 Lego Marvel Variants And The Originals They Are Parodying
TheLegoDr replied to Artifex's topic in LEGO Licensed
I've been wanting to see the whole line-up. This is great! I definitely want every single variant. I need to find a comic store nearby. I've never been to one before, so I don't know where to look. Anyway, I think my favorite is..I don't know. Gotta have them all! -
I'm always impressed with your builds. But what I love the most besides the scale is the interior furnishings. You always seem to breathe life into your builds. This does look very busy and shows how placement of minifigures can make/break a scene. The interior is great. I always try to do open back builds so you can see the interior easier, so I like what you did there. I like how you double brick the wall to add an exterior and an interior color unique to the room/floor. I really would love to build something like this for my daughter so she has some huge play building for her people. But I doubt I ever will. Keep up the great work! I will follow this for inspiration in the future.

Thanks for the pictures. I don't play Minecraft, but I bought the last set just because it was mainstream. It is still sealed. Although I do like building with lots of small pieces, so these are good parts packs, but I honestly don't know if they are worth the retail price vs bricklinking all of the individual pieces I may actually need in one.

I would anticipate they only release the ecto-1 personally. I love the firehouse, but don't see lego to release something that high priced for CUUSOO. This will be like BTTF and have much needed figures and an iconic vehicle. I looked at this earlier and it still had about 1000 votes to go. Great timing!

Currently reading the Hobbit. I loved the LOTR movies and enjoyed the Hobbit movie, but never got around Ro feedin reading any of them. So far I like the changes in the movie. So much stuff got switched or cut out, it's amazing it is the same movie. I think I like the movie considerably more personally and I'm afraid I may be the only one.
