  1. Well, to follow up on my Bricklink order from Budapest that somehow shipped from the Netherlands, it arrived! I'm the USA by the way. But anyway, I started getting shipping updates soon after the order was placed, and then no tracking updates for like 10 days while it was "en route to country of destination", and then finally more updates when it arrived in the US, and then it was at my door in a few more days. And all the parts were perfect and like new, nothing messed up at all. Yay!
  2. Whoa! I don't love it. I find most Monkie Kid designs to be too bizarre for my taste, honestly. But I'll grab those trans red parts on Bricklink! I like the sensor arrays too. We already know Lego can do shuttle launch sets so this doesn't prove anything either way, IMO. This is a firmly Earth-based set. Well spotted! Another piece to snatch from Bricklink. I'm not as optimistic about an Ice Planet revival, but it would be freaking awesome if it happened.
  3. You know... The real thing that endangers a trademark is when people use it to describe other brand's products incorrectly. That's what happened to Xerox, Taser, Escalator, etc. Like if everyone called every small SUV a "jeep". That's what I used to do when I was a dumb kid. A Suzuki Samurai was a "jeep" to me. Same with an old Toyota Range Rover. They looked like Jeeps, so they were jeeps to me. Or Tupperware. Any old plastic container is "tupperware" to me unless I'm really thinking about it. So instead of asking us to say something stupid like "LEGO ® brand building bricks™" in casual conversation, maybe just ask us to not refer to other brand's bricks as Lego. Except I'm pretty sure no fan of Lego would do that anyway.
  4. Meh, that's on them, not us. Maybe they should put "LEGO Bricks" on the box. Or make other toys that aren't bricks so we'd have to specify.
  5. Got a MOC almost done, needs a few more tweaks and then I'll post it. Sneak preview:
  6. Sounds like they wanted to do it, were told that they couldn't, and then toed the line.
  7. The fact that Ninjago hasn't gone to space yet is another reason I'm not sure they can. I mean, underwater ninjas? Why go there before space ninjas? They've done airships, desert stuff, islands, everything but space. I certainly hope so! I'll gladly eat crow if that happens. The spaceship in the trailer is awesome! Looking forward to seeing that set. Personally I like the minifigs, but I'm not really interested in the sets.
  8. Ooh, space plushy! I kinda want it...thanks for the heads up. This reminds me, I there's also the green Space guy in the Build the World commercials. I mean...so many references to Lego Space in media but no actual Lego Space! It's so painful! Yet nobody can explain why we don't get a Classic Space style Creator set, which is a complete no brainer in every sense, and has been done for Castle and Pirates and now freaking Vikings. Until that is explained, in a real way, and not just "Lego is smarter than you dumb AFOLs" hand waving about how "It wouldn't make money" even though they've released the Creator Space Mining Mech, which is super boring and uninspired, and would be totally superior with an actual Space minifig pilot and an exciting colored windscreen (and would sell about a million times more), I'm not going to be convinced. I mean, seriously, any "it won't sell argument" is dead in the water because Lego has released this instead: And don't get me started on the existence of Vidiyo. Lego is perfectly fine with losing lots of money. If they want to do that, lose it on Space!
  9. If they can sell two puzzles about Lego Space, they can sell actual Lego Space sets. Unless there's some contractual reason they can't, which is almost certainly the case.
  10. I guess there's going to be a Space puzzle: It's obnoxious to me that they can release Lego Space puzzles but not actual Lego sets. Unless this is part of a Space revival, in which case I'll eat my words. Not sure if this is old news but I found pictures of another puzzle as well:
  11. Oh yaaay. I have my first large parts buy being shipped right now. Store was in Budapest. Guess where my package was shipped from? The Netherlands. It's been on a ship or something for the last week.
  12. My wish list for future sets: Alfa Romeo Carabo Lancia Stratos Lancia Stratos Zero Ferrari Testarossa Ferrari Dino (original) Ferrari 308 Dome Zero Vector W8 Cizeta Moroder V-16T Toyota MR2 (80's) Porsche 959 Isdera Imperator 108i Autozam AZ-1
  13. Amazing! This is the kind of set I want Lego to make these days. Any Classic Space fan will instantly recognize the 6890 callback.
  14. Nice job! Always cool to see larger Lego figures used in MOCs like this.
  15. How are parts sourced for these sets? Does Lego crank them out to order?
  16. Thanks friend! Glad to hear the builds are "spacey"! I think it's the open cockpits that make them feel like Classic Space for me. I really wanted to use the cylindrical pieces as "stands" for a base. The old bases were typically up on stanchions so it just felt right.
  17. Thanks! That means a lot to me!
  18. Here's a not-very-good stop motion gif showing the transformation: https://imgur.com/a/S2coDYz
  19. Hey guys! I have a MOC I want to share. I call it the Star Catcher. It transforms from this: To this: More pics in my flickr album. Thanks!
  20. Hey guys. I did some "multi-builds" of Lego Creator set 31111. Each of these was made only with parts from 2 copies of the set. First is a Moon Rover: Second is a Satellite Outpost with Hover Scooter and Generator: Nothing spectacular, but I thought these were fun and wanted to share. Thanks!
  21. Imagine what you could build with 10 copies of a modern version of this set: https://brickset.com/sets/5929-1/Knight-and-Castle-Building-Set Years ago I found out about this set and wanted to buy 20 copies just to build a huge castle. But I couldn't find very many available, so that didn't happen.
  22. I think Lego needs to realize that Classic-Themed Creator 3-1 sets don't have to be 1000 piece sets. Imagine $20 Creator Castle set with 2 minifigs with totally different gear. That gives you way more minifig bang for the buck with mix-and-match potential as well. Castle wall, armor shop, tree fort. Done. Throw in an ornamental armor set and now you have even more options. A forest man with a hood becomes a knight with a helmet.
