  1. Love it, especially the Shinra tower.
  2. Pics leaked for 31117 and it's definitely a shuttle. Lego doesn't do sci-fi space anymore, unless it's Star Wars or something.
  3. Because the literal color white doesn't look anything like a "white" person's skin tone. When I was in kindergarten and there were only 8 crayon colors, we all used Yellow for white people. It was the obvious choice. But the point isn't that yellow was explicitly chosen to represent white people. It's that it just doesn't work at all for black people. Saying it's racially neutral was a cop out on Lego's part. And they know it. If they didn't, why did they decide to make a brown colored Lando in the 2003 Cloud City set and keep all the other minifigs yellow? https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=10123-1 That set is living proof that Lego themselves thought that yellow figures "worked" for white characters but not black characters.
  4. Damn. I get frustrated when that happens to me, and that's just in regards to Lego not catering more to my specific toy preferences. Can't imagine how it feels when it's something actually important like representation. 100%! I really think Lando demonstrated how full of crap Lego was with the whole "yellow represents all races" thing.
  5. This is one of the best Lego sets of all time. But I'm biased -- it's one of the few largish space sets I had as a kid. Nice, Congrats! I have one MIB too and I'm not above opening it. Although I might try to get one mint and loose to build instead. I always thought of the AT-AT as a cat, and the Moonstalker as a dinosaur. IMO the Moonstalker is way cooler. The AT-AT didn't have rockets, or emerald green canopies, or a grapple arm, or a head that could shoot off as a space ship!
  6. Oh boy. I've seen it. It gets bad.
  7. Lol, holy crap! If you wanna get rid of, say 40 boxes or so, let me know.
  8. This is the opposite of my experience in the US. Those sets disappeared so quickly. Every other TLM2 set stuck around for a while, but not Benny's Space Squad. The average sold price on Bricklink for new sets is $11. So, slightly above retail. Also, you can't really use a weird one-off bulk sale price for a lot of 2700 sets to gauge the market value of a set when bought individually.
  9. I think that was the excuse. They almost certainly stopped doing those kinds of boxes due to costs. But corporations don't like to say "We are giving you less value to save that money for ourselves." Better to blame the consumer.
  10. Congrats! But since when do aliens abduct buff people? I'd get it just for those cones in trans bright green.
  11. So no armored humans with swords?
  12. Very nice. Has a bit of a Cosmic Fleet Voyager vibe.
  13. Weirdness is good, I will give you that. Also I really like this thing so I have no room to talk:
  14. Funny how different people have such different takes. From the images, it looks...very goofy to me, if I'm being kind. Something that might be cool if a kid built it, but not up to the standards of a real set.
  15. My god. Yeah, people who vote in Ideas are lemmings. They just vote for the same thing that won last time. After something wins, you see a ton of copycats, and they all get tons of votes. After the Fisherman shop we got a ton of sets that were just "ramshackle buildings" in some form. The tree house, the Barracuda Bay, the Blacksmith. Funnily, the final sets removed most of the ramshackle look from those! The same thing happened with 80's cars, Sitcom locales, etc.
  16. I like it! I just wish something like this could win the contest. Last time we got a @#$%ing coin-op ride. :/
  17. Sorry, yeah I meant the physical store. Which requires a membership and that isn't free. Not worth it just for the Legos.
  18. I second Costco. Every time I see a set there, it's for a crazy good price.
  19. Maybe it'll be a SPACESHIP!
  20. I could argue that they'd see Harry Potter, LotR/The Hobbit, and Disney sets as representing Castle as much as other themes represent Space.
  21. That's how it works in any "fan's dream job". Animators, video games, comic artists, etc. They aren't going to pay you much, because there is an army of nerds ready to replace you in an instant, and for less pay. So for what it's worth, I believe you.
  22. True. I try to find specific users to follow for leaks. Although I always seem to see leaks a few days after everyone else talks about them.
  23. There's a bunch of random garbage purposely mis-tagged with #Legoleaks. MOCs, customs, old sets, people in the underwear, totally random images. The vast majority of pics are not actual Lego leaks.
