  1. My prediction...the "Lunar Research" base will be an Earth base, meant to research what it would be like to have a Lunar base.
  2. Pretty cool! Even has a gerwalk mode!
  3. I love how the Indiana Jones clone has a slightly worried look on his face, like he's expecting a giant legal smackdown from Disney at any moment.
  4. Why are the people who want Lego to "stay out of politics" always starting political arguments on a forum about Lego? Please point me to any evidence you have regarding Lego actively endorsing a specific political candidate, or trying to influence an election. I think what you guys are really complaining about is Lego reacting to cultural shifts. You misinterpret cultural shifts that you don't like as politics. You misinterpret your frustration at losing the culture war as some sort of victimhood. When really, you just need to move into the current century.
  5. This might kill off my hypothesis that these things are not allowed by Disney. Good.
  6. Very cool! Already supported. I was kinda surprised that you went with a two-toned light and dark brown color scheme for the crater plate build. I was wondering why you did -- and then stumbled upon one of my old builds from a while back where I did the same thing! So I guess I shouldn't have been surprised!
  7. These. Times a thousand. "Stay out of politics" has always, ALWAYS, meant "mirror my politics, which I assume is the default non-political point of view." People don't realize that everything is political.
  8. This is great. I was expecting more of a Classic Space interior. What are the heads on the minifigs?
  9. I think that's just Lego PR. I was a kid once. I hated stickers then too. If kids like stickers so much, why aren't torso prints stickers? Why are we denying these kids all that fun they could be having?
  10. It shouldn't. New printed torsos are ridiculously cheap, regardless of what self-appointed Lego PR peddlers will tell you. I think they're talking about the blue and white striped pirate shirt that also came with the castle in your avatar pic. Which was a majorly avaricious decision on Lego's part.
  11. Yes! Alt builds are fun, and not only is the limited set of parts challenging, it's freeing! You don't have to go looking for "just the right part". You just have what you have. Yeah, absolutely. Definitely happened to me. Other people's MOCs (SECs?) are great for inspiration, but don't compare your stuff to theirs. Perfect. My own advice for @ks6349? Look at Stud.io. It's easy to use and you don't have to worry about sorting. You can look up pieces by description and it'll even tell you if the color you have selected is available for that piece (in real bricks at least). https://www.bricklink.com/v3/studio/download.page
  12. Yeah but those are movie license sets. I assume those are specifically allowed.
  13. CLASSIC. THEMED. CREATOR. SETS. You're welcome. Also. Crap. Space ignored yet AGAIN. I think this really proves that Lego just isn't allowed to do Space sets per their Star Wars license agreement with Disney.
  14. AWESOME. A little worried that they're still neglecting Space but that's a discussion for another sub-forum...
  15. Good thing "Lego understands the market better" than us stupid AFOLs who just want a nice unlicensed Space or Castle set every once in a while.
  16. I learned a new phrase today.
  17. Remember this next time an unofficial Lego PR person says "Lego can't afford to do X" when we complain about them cheaping out, or "I think Lego knows what sells better than you do" when we complain about not getting sets/themes we want. Lego CAN afford to throw away tons of money on a theme that nobody asked for or understood. If they can afford that, they can do a lot of things we ask for, like print more pieces or bring back popular molds. Lego DOESN'T know what themes will sell better than AFOLs do. Or they just don't care.
  18. Exactly, that's what I was hoping for, but you explained it more succinctly than I would have.
  19. Totally. I have no idea how all those uncertainties shake out. All my stuff is back-of-a-napkin math based on numbers that are out there, mixed with guesstimates that could be off, and interpretations that could be wrong. But...I do think the ~1million copies of a median size set guess seems to pass a reasonable sanity check vs. bricks sold and # of bricks per set according to BrickSet.
  20. It would be cool to see a brick-built tribute to the old crater plates. Heck, it's probably been done. Regardless, it would be super cool to see in an IDEAS throw-back set. EDIT: That's just one of many ways to do it. I'd rather see some larger curved pieces for the slope and round pieces for the crater itself. And maybe on large plates instead of a baseplate since Lego seems even averse to those lately.
