  1. Great stone coloring! Those siege weapons look intimidating!
  2. Looking out to Sea A woman looks longingly out to sea for the return of her beau. I created this 8x8 MOC for LowLUG’s Mega Medieval MOC Mania (MMMM) contest. I tried a new technique for the water. I initially wanted to avoid using the large clear panes and use a ‘pile’ of random transparent parts, but I was unable to stack or connect them at odd angles. So I went with just dumping various blues and clear pieces, but this almost completely obstructs the underwater vegetation and creatures. Website | Flickr | YouTube
  3. I love the shape/curves of the base! The whole MOC is very neat!
  4. I recognize the style! You certainly achieved your goals of a fun castle that matches your guarded inn. The modular parts are a good idea and look good together or apart.
  5. Wow! You really captured the feel of the wolfpack tower. This is a very nice castle without being too big. I like the details you included without overdoing it. A well balanced MOC all around!
  6. Excellent micro MOC! The boats are all nice, but the trebuchet (and the ballista) are my favorite part . I like your water effect - the 'rough' cut out edge works well. Great use of non-right angles throughout.
  7. Wow! Great colors - but I love the shapes of the MOC best - especially the framed base. Great entry!
  8. The brick built stag is excellent! Great scene.
  9. I don't recall it being done before - what happens if you rotate each layer just slightly so they don't all line up? My only complaint is what type of actual roof are you trying to emulate with this technique? It looks like a thatched roof, but then the color is wrong (as @caiman0637 said, too bad it doesn't come in a tan-family color).
  10. All of these MOCs are great! I too am hoping to enter a few entries into the contest as well (and maybe learn some Dutch). The yellow vignette is very simple, but has just the enough detail to keep it from being boring. I love all the vegetation and not-quite natural colors on your Flora - Fantasy entry, but enjoy the autumn colors of your Flora - Forestmen better. Your Lion Knights Headquarters is my favorite! Using the double-pentagon shields is a great technique! The base is nicely decorative too. My only criticism is that the trunk of the larger tree in your duel scene is too thick - perhaps if the top of the tree was cut out of the shot (so it could be imagined to be much bigger) it would work better.
  11. Looks great! I love all of the details without it being too messy or complex. Good luck on ideas.
  12. Cow Instructions (Click to enlarge) Instructions to build a mini-figure scaled, brick-build cow. It is based off floriangraderbeck’s donkey. I created several for my pasture in LOLUG’s railroad display.
  13. I love this MOC! It is packed with so many amazing details! The trees and general landscaping makes it terrific. I just now noticed the dark tan wants at the edge of the water - this is a terrific technique! I do like Grantmasters' deer.
  14. Great keep! I like the color variation used in the brickwork. The interiors are impressive. If I were to leave a suggestion (which I am), I'd recommend adding some cheese slopes the landscaping, even though that would not be '90s style'.
  15. Great ideas and execution. I really like the cobblestone ground - it makes having different sized and shaped buildings work well. You could certainly have cobblestone around the sides, but then you'd have alleys. If you knew two buildings would be next to each other, then it doesn't matter that they even have nice looking walls (except for whichever is taller). I'd recommend checking out the MILS standard. The standard base is 1 baseplate, 1 brick and 1 plate high. All module borders must meet here. The standard does specify hills and such, but they are quite steep and then you still need to coordinate with others to make sure your hills align. But that thickness does give some nice variety of elevation within a module (or several under the coordination of one person) - especially if you need to go 'down' - which you cannot do if everything is on a single baseplate. I've given some though to medieval module standards and have not heard of any idea that addresses the elevation challenge AND have independent modules. The best looking collaborations agree on the grading where two modules meet (and only those two modules can meet there). This requires careful coordination/dedication by participants, but looks great.
  16. If you'd like more information or my opinions on the set, I've written a detailed review of 21325 Medieval Blacksmith. In 21325 Medieval Blacksmith, LEGO sells an AFOL-quality castle MOC as a set. Read the review at http://www.lolugclub.org/2021/03/16/medieval-blacksmith-21325-review
  17. A young boy visits the well but spills all the water he has pulled up. I created this little MOC for LOLUG’s March meeting challenge, which required a MOC relating to water. I plan to relocate this well onto a larger scene I am creating. C&C welcome! Website | Flickr | YouTube
  18. The pump and the sloshing water is my favorite part of your MOC. I also like all the little pieces of farm equipment, animals and flowers/plates about the stable.
  19. Looks good so far! I like the dark blue shutters on the lower window. The stonework looks worn but sturdy. I cannot wait to see the end result!
  20. Awesome tower! I too have had issues photographing black buildings. I turned up the ISO and left the shutter open a bunch to get more light on my last building - it worked ok to show detail but does make the building look brighter than it should (similar to your middle shot above). I can see a decent amount of detail in that first shot of yours and the building still looks black.
  21. Great character! The 'fur' collar comes across well as do the hat and goggles.
  22. Wochenender has created this wonderful rendition of 059 Knight's Stronghold: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/7f88b543-d539-4aab-8293-5b8216852b35
  23. I like the consistency of the stone technique on both the building and the bridge. The snow technique is great. Very interesting techniques on the dragon - it looks very posable. Wonderful scene (well, not for the guy on the boat, but for us looking at it).
