[MOC] Fortschritt ZT 320 Tractor
Jundis replied to Jundis's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Semi-finished version (without exhaust), video coming soon. Currently working on a trailer :-) -
Really nice! Maybe the new black wheel arches from the upcoming Batman car could be used here? @1gor Seems like he used exactly your planned configuration with Defender Wheels and 42099 wheel hubs. So it seems to work :-)

Generic machinery
Jundis replied to jorgeopesi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yours are really the most economical ones, considering so few parts to make the model :-) Apart from the nice pics: The z-kinematic on the shovel looks so easily achieved here, no bent connectos or unusual sizes... Did you spent much time in this? -
All around: The less parts, the better. KISS-method: Keep it simple, stupid! :-) Also, don't use axle or pin-axle-connections for parts of the structure, use frames if possible. Especially the upper connection of the springs will bend under load. Same goes for the ball-joint suspension arms: Don't use spacers (bushings) and long axles for the connection on the chassis, but connect them as near as possible to the frame. As @MinusAndy already said: The steering looks really wobbly and will disconnect in heavy usage. Definetley change this, maybe use liftarms instead or overhaul you steering-system completely and place it nearer to or even withing the wheel section.

This really works? I'd never have thought that you could stretch a lego tire to this extend! If it works, it works. :-)

Buggy Motors with Powered Up
Jundis replied to whitepen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
As the Buwizz3 has 2 PF connections, you can even use 2 buggy motors or is there a lack of power?- 17 replies

42121 Skid Steer Loader

Great C-Model! It looks soo compact and well designed There are not enough gears in the set to speed up the lifting? -

The front is rather hard to do without curved panels. I really like the wheel arches, looks really iconic :-) As there are 2 big and 2 small actuators; did you try do use a two-step system? One mechanic to bring the door in horizontal position and on to lower them? -
The wheel selection is so much better here. Maybe someone will raise the suspension and go with the 68.7 wheels? https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=52985#T=C&C=11 They could have really stood up to their name of "batmobile wheels" as they were already used as front tires in the UCS set :D

Independent motors drive-train
Jundis replied to mudseason's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The deviation from going in a straight line will be much more influenced by the steering. The wobble and zero point will affect way more than using two motors. Just look a Videos from motorized lego mocs, all will go slightly to the left or right. -

Cool, thanks! 😎 I mean there were 6 or 7 models with white colouring, so it's good to speculate. About the model: Waiting for parts in olive green then only some minor details are missing 😉 -
Generic Contest Discussion
Jundis replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I know there is a contest starting soon, but here is another idea: "Polybag-Contest" - Build 3 micro-sets, fit for Polybags - each set max. 75 pieces, should fit into a zip-bag (about 15 x 15 cm) - the 3 sets have to have a matching theme, e.g. racecars, a construction team, robots, fire patrol team.... This could be more of a pure-fun-contest. Just an idea :-) -

I think the higher the difference between the two vehicles and the more complex the mechanism, the higher will be the reward in form of votes. Restrictions should be fine. PF and PU are allowed, third party motors and battery boxes (buwizz etc.) are also allowed? On a side note: This is in my opinion a way harder challenge than before, maybe give a little more time? Like till the end of the year as many of us mostly have more free time during christmas...? -
No doubt this is a highend premium MOC and definetely deserved to be frontpaged! My question is: Are 10 motors really necessary? 4 or even 6 are enough in my opinion... I mean, we are talking about 290€ just for driving motors... I already see parts parts flying and twisting when going 36 km/h...

Really clean and compact build! Rear double tires wouldn't fit, as it seems?
