I really like your modification. Great work on the chairs and how they are positioned. Imho a tree or two would add a lot to the scenery.

[MOC] Captain Carrot Ironfoundersson
Jacob Nion replied to Pate-keetongu's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Great one! I would have imagined him more carrozt shaped, with broader shoulders, but on the other hand I like the realistic proportions here. Armor looks superb! Can't wait to see your next character.- 14 replies

Good one! I really like the clean design. The few masonry bricks add a lot of texture without making it look too busy.

Great vegetation here. Wonderful touch how the tree is hanging above the water. Your landscapes are always full of atmosphere and I can't leave you a comment without praising your tree technique once more. Really this is my favourite tree design of all I have seen so far. And that curved shape is a new aspect to it.

The Exetrius Saga (3): Equipment Upgrade
Jacob Nion replied to Exetrius's topic in Guilds of Historica
Great depiction of the swamp landscape. The use of the Nexo Knight shield is excellent and fits perfectly for that purpose. Good work! And the vegetation is superb. That Yoba character and the hut itself reminds me of some studio Ghibli films, which is great because it means that the japanese/east asian influence in your style works pretty well.- 17 replies

I saw this on BB lately. Great work! Technique Axle connectors would work well I guess. A nice idea would be to have iconic miniatures of the factions main fortresses as [Tore] you know what I mean, I don't know what it's called in english.

AoM: Gatehouse Phase 2: Nordheim's Southern Gate
Jacob Nion replied to soccerkid6's topic in Guilds of Historica
You're putting out one awesome castle after the other at the moment. And I admire your keeps and fortifications. They're both wonderful to look at and invite to play with. Exactly what I would have loved to play with as a child. This gatehouse could have easily counted as phase III imho. Cannot imagine what you have in mind as next step. And I want to say that I really love your woodwork. Not only does it look very realistic and clearly medieval, you've integrated some nice detailing to give it that northern Skandinavian touch that I find essential for Mitgardia. I always feel this desire to build a good old solid keep when you come up with new stuff. But I still have to increase my collection a bit :/- 24 replies

AoM: Gatehouse Phase 1: Start of a Journey
Jacob Nion replied to soccerkid6's topic in Guilds of Historica
That ground looks wonderful realistic. And I really love the colour arrangement. Also solid fence. But what really makes this memorable is that the scene tells a whole story without any written word.- 25 replies

Nice story writing! I like the rockwork and the figure placing here. Now that you're in Nocturnus you should better watch out for the infamous men eating trees of which we always warned you.

Nice battle scene. A lot of badassery here. Really like faction which are neither good nor bad. And it has a nostalgic touch to see the black bull coat of arms. Good choice!

Thanks very much everyone. I didn't imagine getting that much feedback! This was more meant to bring forward my story so I originally didn't plan to build that large. Thank you! I believe those rats are the best thing that could happen to me in terms of lego. But beware fakers! I saw once or twice similar characters popping up in other lego fantasy rpg's. But I guaranty the original will always be part of Historica. Just couldn't decide between those so I came up with snakewolves. Thank you! That wouldn't be stealing, since cheese slope mosaics are nothing new. I just hadn't enough 2x2 tile to cover the whole floor. Those parts are from the Hobbit set Goblin king battle. Very useful stickers! Thank you two! Thank you. There was in fact so much new content coming up while I was building that I had to change the whole story. The three ravens were the last idea I had, when it was so much to discuss in the story. Really that's too much praise now. But thank you :))

Thank you very much for that wonderful feedback guys! Took me a while to response, sorry for that. Thank you! Some buildings just need to be a bit sturdier to serve their purpose. There is no outside, at least no well built. It's just about the work inside, like those books for children where you can see a fire station or police department cutaway. The buildings in the back are just for that large city feel. Thanks. Feel free to do so. Thank you all! I'm glad you could enjoy all the details. Haha, the whole floor of the attic is made of 1x2 and 1x3 plates. That took a while to assemble. As always thank you captain! Thanks mate. Thank you! My goal is still to make Skavenport one of the largest cities in the east, comparable to all the other locations in the three other guilds. Thanks! The last verse was the first thing that came to my mind before I even had placed the base plate. Historica comes to life sometimes. Thank you! I must say I didn't intended to do so, but I'm glad it works so well in youur eyes. One major improvement for me was here to make a smoother combination of white and tan sections. Thank you very very muxh for all that feedback. That makes me want to build the next part of the town. Aye, if I was a better singer I would have done an mp3, but that's one of the many things I suck at. Thamk you! Indeed, it is intended to be. I had to simplify the whole process. But I wanted to still show a logical production process for beer iwas such an important part of medieval life and absolutely necessary for food supply.

Contest! The Frozen Beyond, Results are in!
Jacob Nion replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
So now I too want to say a huge thank you. In first place of course to Ecclesiastes for bringing up this wonderful fun contest and for providing and shipping the prizes (if there are some other secret donators I also say thank you very, very much). And thanks also go to all those people who gave me their votes. It's amazing to get so much positive feedback. Cheers also to every Mitgardian who worked on the whole Algus saga. This was a tremendous collab of your guild. I enjoyed every part of it. From the first creepy rumours of this new threat to all the large battles. Fantastic work everybody! Sadly I only had time for one category, but it was superb fun to build. I'm impressed by all the large number of wunderful and creative entries. It's great to see all this activity and the effort everyone puts in his work. Als congratulations to all the other lucky ones who won! Now I can't wait for the pumpkin pie contest. -
Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Jacob Nion replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
Hey, maybe it would be helpful to have a common currency. I would like to have a different word than coin in my stories. Something like gold dragons and silver stags in Westeros in a song of ice and fire. -
Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Jacob Nion replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
Yes sure, you can hold land and still travel. In fact, everyone has to leave his/her land at some point to go on quests and adventures or for war. Just sitting in your castle all the time would soon become boring. The first map is the original guild map and as far as I know more correct about the landscape. The second just depicts which corners of the land are already claimed. Use this one to choose the location of your county. -
Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Jacob Nion replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
Everything exists if you wish so. Elves and half elves are pretty standard fantasy so there's no big deal with that. But it's great that you want to choose this race. While elves are pretty common in Historica, there are sadly only a few player who actually have them as main characters. About claiming land, there are different maps on the first site of this thread. One shows you the different shires and counties already established by others. Just mark a territory of your own and write down a lore and background story about your character and his land. But that's optional; if you don't want your character being in charge of a county and instead be a travelling sell sword or merchant or whatever you want to be that's also fine. Elves are more common on the mystic isles, but tthat's no limitation. -
That gate depicts with no doubt what I imagined Petraea to look like. An impressive build that gives visitors a glance of the wealth of Kaliphlin. Outstanding work!

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Jacob Nion replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
I don't see a way to make a completely naked minifig. Except you make it all yellow. But that would be no big deal, everybody for sure knows the "naked" (all yellow) conductor from the old train sets. You should not forget following: There is no restriction to mature content here. And there are a few builds which have proven that we have institutions in Historica, well, which the Dornishmen would call pillow houses. But in this special case it's just common sense that if you want to include other peoples characters you should respect their oppinion on such things. But maybe de Gothia just tries to avoid people using this torso for his figure -
Great work! This really transports atmosphere to me. Only minor flaw for me could be how straight the cliffs and the soil on it is. But that doesn't really bother the overall look.
