Sea Rats: Sign-up and Discussion
Jacob Nion replied to Darkdragon's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Wait- we can be non humans?! Guys I would have just transformed my GoH rats into sea rats if I had known. -
Superb build! The walls look great, I especially like how you integrated the leaves. Also great sense for detail. The way the skeletons are attached gives the scene something very orcish. The timbered sections round up the fortification in a perfect way.

[COR - FB1] Selling the best steeds
Jacob Nion replied to SilentWolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I like about the building that it looks like classic 80ies lego sets, but also is recognizable as brickwork house. Good job on the interior also!- 8 replies

Great floor. You've put exactly the right things on this small base that the observer can imgaine the whole tavern/inn around the scene.

Wonderful! Hilarious! Excellent! I really enjoyed this. Both by reading and looking at the build. There's actually so much to love about this and the others have said most of it already, so I just want to point out a few things: great minifig posing, I love how your character proudly raises the test tubes; great photo editing, the mirrored figure in the glass is a superb effect; the whole setting is top notch, so many details to look at, your character seems to fit the stereotype of the mad scientist (has of course nothing to do with being evil); and I like how you put in this atmosphere of 17th/18th century occult science and alchemy. Really imposing work!

Haha, that`'s a wonderful and neat little scene! Those headgears are very creative. The whole build reminds me of the adventures of all the famous british explorers of the age of sail.

[ESL - FB2 - ship] The "War Dwarf"

I wouldn't sell such a beauty! It's a wonderful ship. I love that bow and the colour scheme. This will really be an inspiration for my first ship. -

Great cannons, captain colonel! I'm just not sure about the tiles for the ground. I myself would have probably left them out. Mut zur Noppe, Kapitän!

[SR Mar FB 4] – Wood Worker's Cottage
Jacob Nion replied to Gulagurag's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
The house is neat from the outside; but the real highlight is the work that's going on inside. I love how you used the tan areas to depict the inner fresh wood. That's a great effect. -
Great vegetation! I can feel the adventures hiding in this jungle! But the Corrie soldiers must be lightweights, gliding over the grass
-
Fantastic micro build! I love the ships, and how you depicted the shallow waters at the docks. And those houses are very believable.

[SR Mar FB 3] – Athena’s Grace
Jacob Nion replied to Gulagurag's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I like that! Definitely a sturdy little ship. While I like the more realistic attempts on small vessels, I also enjoy this kind of bulky half chibi style ships. It's just the spirit of the classic pirates theme to have small nutshells like the caribbean clipper, renegade runner, etc... I especially like how well the gun ports and windows fit in. -
Book II - Nocturnus: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Jacob Nion replied to ZCerberus's topic in Guilds of Historica
Welcome to the Darklands. Looking forward to read more of your entertaining story. -
During last years GoH Challenge there was a similar situation (haha, also "provoked" by Ska ). There were just so many battlefields that one could make half a dozen builds per week. Most of it was great work and amazing effort, you probably remember, but some mentioned the same thing, it was just hard to follow. Since I'm a newbie to BoBS and still working on my first FB, I'm probably not suitable for thowing in my two pennies. But would it be an option to have only a limited number of free builds which can be used for getting doubloons? In Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka you can build as many free builds in a period as you want, but only a limited number can be chosen to earn xp.

I'm sorry to diappoint you, but pretzels are in fact not that main aspect of German every day life culture Haha, let me use this opportunity to clarify that there has never been a tradition in any German region to hang pickles on christmas trees That's really a fun thing, I read about this custom last christmas. That aside, thank you! there's no better overal pic other than the first. I just tried to build some sort of cutaway, but it's incredibly hard to photograph the whole interior at the same time. I will probably return to closed buildings with small interior on the back.

This one doesn't disappoint the expectations I had after the prelim pic. Great work here. I love that whole idea with the trading post built over the street. And the interior is a great touch. But I would have added a bit more of vegetation. Just a few speckles of grass maybe. And the ground rounded up with wedge plates. But that doesn't really bother. It's quite an impressive building.

This is a great diorama! We do not often see that kind of locations, and I love that it is a place of peace and humanity. Such builds really expand the world of Historica and add other aspects then just warcraft and country life (not that I could ever get tired of these things). I like that the hospital is a cutaway and gives us an impression of the medical treatment. Poor guys losing their legs! I can imagine a jar of leeches somewhere. Haha, and cheers for that donkey!

Months of unexcused absence and the first thing you come up with is Avalonian tree hugging?! Serious? Naaa, just kidding. Of course I like it! But I definitely love the fact that you're back! Hopefully just in time to save such peaceful green idylls from the fires of war.

Super cool and unique design! There`'s much to love in this build. The stone work is great, also the half timbered parts. And that roof is amazing. I really like the overall design with the actual mill part sitting exposed on the corner of the tower. And all those nice details! Like the oriels and the plateau with crane. Great work!

Sea Rats: Sign-up and Discussion
Jacob Nion replied to Darkdragon's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Gideon sent me a friendly invitation to join Oleon. But after 10minutes of Hans Zimmer it was clear that you guys have my heart. Do not hesitate anymore good people! Captain Benjamin Morgan is here! You haven't heard of me? You will! I'll write the intro story when I have built something. Can't wait to join the funyou have here! (Sea) Rats forever! -
I like it! Nice detailing all around. And good job on the automatic turret. The steering is a great addition. Would love to see it built in real some day.
