All of today's picks are just breathtakingly beautiful. I will check out the other pics on Flickr as there is just so much detail to look at in all these layouts. Congrats and well done for keeping this topic going for 3 months. I reckon after this amount of time and nearly 20,000 page views, it's high time this was made a featured or pinned topic in the town forum.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Bricked1980 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I think after DD was so very strongly influenced by American culture, I'm wondering if they'll alternate and the next one might have more of a European theme to it. I agree a garage or something car related would be pretty cool. You have a good point and this is the main thing I can see getting in the way of an auto related modular. Quite a few people complained about the car in DD and how they'd rather the parts had been used for extra details in the building itself. If they did a garage, service station or car showroom I could imagine it needing at least 2 vehicles which would eat in to the parts count even more. Dunno if anyone from TLG ever checks these forums but if they did they would notice the same topics crop up every year for most wanted modular buildings. From reading on here it seems to me that the most popular candidates are... Police station, museum, hotel and post office. I would love any of these. I also like the idea of an Italian style pizza restaurant and ice cream shop. Don't think they'll do another food related one after the diner though. A pub would be really cool as well. I'd say that's very unlikely for an official set though. -
The BrothersBrick have just published some new pics of the hospital set. These ones are great and show better views of the interior. https://www.brothers-brick.com/2018/05/11/more-photos-of-60204-lego-city-hospital-revealed-news/#more-109917

Thanks a lot, and yes there is definitely some Ed Sheeran influence going on with the singer.

This is very nice. I like the colours and the cobbled street. For some reason this reminds me quite a bit of some of Snaillad's moc's. It has a similar look and feel to it.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Bricked1980 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I really like the diner. When it was first unveiled I admit I wasn't immediately taken with the new change of direction. It grew on me though and I think it's a lovely set and I like the bright colours and applaud the designers for trying something a bit different. Also despite the change in style I still don't think it looks too bad alongside some of the other modulars, especially assembly square and detectives office. However as much as I like the diner, I do have to admit... I would much rather they return to the more familiar style for the 2019 modular, rather than carrying on down the new path started by the diner. -
[MOC] Food truck alternative build from the set 60182
Bricked1980 replied to CoolerTD's topic in LEGO Town
This looks great and I've got to echo the comments already made by @LegoModularFan and @Delbaerov. That idea of using wheel rims as bench seats is genius, I've never seen that done before. -
This looks very good indeed. Really catches the essence of the original. Makes me want to dig out my old copy of Eldorado fortress and get building.
-
This is a really awesome train station. I love all the ornate detailing around the roof edges. The platform canopy made from the transparent garage door pieces looks very good and I also love the chandelier.
-
Wow that looks impressive. I must admit I'm not that much of a fan of avengers or marvel comics in general but this set does make for a very attractive looking building. I think if ever I had the chance to mod my own version of the set in to a full size modular, I would ditch the big round window thing on the roof and any other features that associate it with the marvel films so that it would just end up as a realistic looking modular building. That might sound like a pretty boring option but I reckon doing this could create a really nice looking moc that would fit in well with existing modulars.

This is a really awesome looking modular. I love the colours you've used. They are very bright and summery, yet none of them clash at all. Also love the way you've built the sloped roof using the round bricks, it looks really effective. As much as I like the exterior of the building I reckon the interior really steals the show. You have crammed so much detail in to it. The mount vesuvius mosaic is a really clever idea and looks brilliant. The artists sculpture and the guy making the wine are also really great. Really awesome, great job!

LEGO Ideas Discussion
Bricked1980 replied to The Real Indiana Jones's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I would love to see the modular arcade get made. I honestly think the most likely one to succeed will be the flintstones though. -
Of today's picks I think this one is my favourite. It's a nice clean and modern design. The colours work well together and the 2 trees help to break up all the straight lines and stop it from looking to "boxy". Many thanks.

The passenger train looks more impressive than it did on the preliminary pics. The stickers on the front towards the front of the cab really improve the look of the train.

Thanks so much for the kind comment. Thanks you very much. I didn't set out with the intention of doing this but after the design was finished I did also think it kind of resembles a giant version of the blue building in assembly square with a similar overall shape and colour. I did try to ensure that all the parts used were available in the chosen colours. There may be a couple that slipped through the net but I will double check them all before I make any instructions for the model. If I have to change any of them I don't think there will be anything that drastically alters the look of the model. My new moc that I am currently working on has a similar style of European architecture with a bit of a British vibe again, although not as distinctly British as this one. So it should compliment the pub quite nicely.

[MOC] Small cafe from the set 60182 alternative build
Bricked1980 replied to CoolerTD's topic in LEGO Town
This is great and I would never have known it was made just with parts from 60182. I like how you've used the vehicle roof pieces to create the window awnings. Good job. -
This would look fantastic next to DD. Congrats @Digger of Bricks wow, with over 3100 posts I assumed you had been a member for much longer than 1 year.

There are some lovely detailed features packed in to the facade of this building, with some novel parts that have been used to create texture. One thing I noticed straight away is the technic cogs being used as decorative elements towards the top and between the windows. Funnily enough I was experimenting earlier today using the same piece on my latest project. I really like how a piece that would normally be overlooked as a basic functional element, can also be used like this to create beautiful and interesting texture

Legos become brittle after storage
Bricked1980 replied to jbopp15's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I have had problems with old lego pieces going brittle and snapping. This is only on bricks with clips on them though. They had become so brittle that just pressing them lightly caused the clips to snap off. I started a topic about this a couple of months ago which has more information. -
Thank you. the roof area was quite big so I wanted to add a few details rather than leave it as just bare plates. So I added a chimney, sky light and a couple of other structures that are supposed to represent air ventilation systems or something like that. So far I've been designing in LDD but thanks for the tip, I'll have a look at those.

Wow Jangs video makes the coaster look seriously epic. I knew it was big but didn't comprehend it being as huge as it is. Showing it next to other models really puts it in to perspective. I'm a bit disappointed to see how unstable it is though. Jang shows how easy it is for the round bricks making up the columns to come apart and moving the thing around would be a bit of a nightmare. Thank goodness they added the ability to separate the structure in to 2 sections so it can be moved. I suppose this is unavoidable for such a massive skeletal structure made from lego bricks though. Apart from this I think it looks incredible though. How the heck has Jang got a copy of this so early?

LEGO City set# 30356 Hot Dog Stand Speed Build
Bricked1980 replied to bricksboy's topic in LEGO Town
Nice video, I enjoyed watching this. As has been mentioned already it's really cool to see the construction minifigs building the model. -
This is brilliant. Your moc buildings are fantastic and look great alongside the official modulars. I really like the beach waterfront section as well. Great work. wish I'd got the space for a large layout like this.
