  1. Wow, one of the more complex MOCs on this page for sure. All those advanced building techniques used make this a real masterpiece. Details to watch for days! Seriously though: clean and nice. The irregularity in the cobblestones is great (must have been a pain to place every single on of them...). Some parading on the parade ground would have been nice.
  2. Already looking very impressive! Will we see some "not-yellow" minifigs though?
  3. I like the clean look and functionality of the build. The dark red works great with the light and dark greys, and the marching soldiers outside are a nice and characterful detail. I agree with Forresto though: the interior looks a bit too clean and almost "clinical". Still, I like the depiction of some production steps. This is of course typical for the warmongers of Oleon, preparing their warmachine to rain fire and fury upon the rest of the Brick Seas. They have to be stopped!
  4. Nice! The story is great (and Joseph is a proper jerk ), and I like the build as well: it is simple but effectivs, and the choice of accent colour for the outside... well, works! The interior is nicely done too, all you really need: pants, pies, apples, pans... and studshooters of course. The "Queen of Hearts" is a nice addition, I would appreciate some more pictures (different angles) though. Maybe when the story continues in King's Harbour?
  5. Good to know. I am already looking forward to it!
  6. Is there an ETA for the results? It has been six weeks...
  7. I like the classical Pirates line(s), and would still love this. Agreed. It would give room for a lot of things other than "random pirate ship vs. soldiers in red or blue".
  8. I think this is easily your best ship yet! The lower deck and interior details are great, and the overall level of detailing is excellent too. To me it feels like a modern take on classical Lego ship designs, which I like a lot. Well done!
  9. Sweet! As a huge fan of interiors and playability I am very impressed by the attention given to the lower deck and especially the captains cabin. Well done!
  10. Nice one. Properly armes for its size, with enough cargo space for sure. I might even say it is a bit too decorated for its size!
  11. The latest additions to the settlement: Mesabi Landing Rock Quarry, mine Chef Curtis' Bakery, medium artisan
  12. Some weeks ago, in Jameston. After parting ways with Reinhard Wolffson in the deeper jungles of Celestia, Jewel Garnet had returned safely to Jameston. She was heading to the local post office to get Reinhards letters sent to the Royal Society of Natural Philosophy. And she also had to send a letter of her own... "Sir, I have to letters to be sent in this bundle. The big envelope is to be sent to the Royal Society of Natural Philosophy, in Arlinsport I guess?" "Ma'am, the Royal Mail delivers, worry not." "This small letter is to Osmond Garnet at the "Garnet Inn"..." "Ma'am, are you sure about the second one? The "Garnet Inn" is ten minutes across town, you could just hand it to Ol' Osmond in person." "It is to be delivered by mail, thank you sir." Jewel left in a hurry, remembering what she had written just this morning: "Dearest father, know that I am well and safe. Having finally had a taste of the world outside, I can not go back to my old life. I will visit you, but maybe not any time soon. Please know that I love you. Your loving daughter, Jewel" ========================================================================================== A small build to continue the storyline from my Orchid expedition, and an attempt at Ayrlegos excellent "Jameston style". All the letters written by Reinhard should have arrived at the RSNP by now, as this scene is supposed to have taken place weeks ago IC. I have no concrete plans where to take Jewel from here, only time will tell. More pictures: C&C appreciated, as always. @Ayrlego I would like to donate this build to the settlement of Jameston, so feel free to license it as you see fit. It could be either a small artisan (providing a "service") or small arts and culture (by being government property).
  13. I would keep the "floating" parts off the white plates, and instead put them on some towers made from trans-clear bricks. Maybe 10 to 20 cm high? That way you would keep the illusion of "flight", while being able to place everything next to the other buildings.
  14. Another general question: are there any plans already for another football tournament like this one last year? There is a real life World Cup coming this summer, maybe play the BotBS one out before? I have only read about the first one, and it seemed to be great fun for everybody. I would love to see a continuation! Maybe @Maxim I or @dr_spock have some ideas about this?
  15. So cool! The build around it is sweet too. Thumbs up!
  16. Chapter I - An unexpected diversion The journey to the north had just started a few days ago. One thing was wrong though: somebody had forgotten to bring the rum. The rum was gone! Captain Riley could not care less, but the members of "Black Squad" were more than a little bit upset. Even some mutinous mumbling made the rounds... Real disaster struck though, when close to a small island a storm rose and broke the "Cranky Parrots" mast! Decisions had to be made, or the whole mission would end right here in the middle of nowhere... You can say what you want about the drunkards of "Black Squad", but in the times of need they hold together and do their job like there is no tomorrow! Towing the "Cranky Parrot" towards the island nearby was the most important issue, for only there the ship could be saved and repaired. And so Old One Eye oversaw this important matter, with "Classy" on rowing duty: Old One Eye moaned: "Row, you son of a gun. And sing us something!" And so he sang: "Row, row, row yer boat, gently 'cross the sea. Mock the queen and rock the scene, this is WTC!" Slowly they approached the small island, which seemed to offer nothing but some bushes and a few palm trees, and a shipwreck on the beaches: Once they had reached the island, everybody made sure to gt the "Cranky Parrot" safely on shore, recover and dry the sails and salvage whatever possible: . With the most important work done for the moment, Pip and Old One Eye went to inspect the shipwreck on the other side of the island, only to be surprised by finding somebody sleeping - and smelling of rum: Old One Eye could not help but shout out in frustration: "HOW DARE YOU SLEEP WITH SOME RUM AROUND WHEN WE ARE STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHWERE??!!!" The stranger leaped up, terrified and confused... and legged it. The commotion did not go unnoticed though, and the WTC Marines darted across the island. "Rum?" ... "What, where?" ... "I heard it first, get out of my way!" ... IT - IS - MINE!" The stranger had fled atop of the shipwreck, and all of "Black Squad" eyed him with more than a little madness in their eyes. "The rum? Where is the rum? Gives us the rum! Or we will shoot you!" The reply came, with a voice still shivering, but regaining confidence with every word: "There is no rum here, I am sorry to say so. You might mistake the smell for an invention of mine, a brew I have discovered a while ago. Made from algae, it is as potent as rum, tasting maybe even better I have to admit. I have only two bottles left though..." "SHOOT HIM!" came the chorus from the crowd. But the stranger replied, with a firm voice: "Yeah shoot me now... and then what? Two bottles, for all of you, then what? I know how to make more, but I can not do so when being dead..." ... and an outcry came from a voice nearby: "NOBODY SHOOTS!" The rest is, as they say, history. The stranger introduced himself as Wesbert Thaum, without going into detail about how he had stranded on this forsaken island. He made a deal with the WTC: he supplied them with as much of his drink as needed, and they took him along for the rest of their expedition. The mast of the wrecked ship turned out to be a suitable replacement for the one on the "Cranky Parrot", so after some more work and modifications on the ship - supported by plenty of Mr. Thaums wonderful drink, which also stopped any further mutinous spirits among the crew - the "Cranky Parrot" could once again head for the open sea... . . . ... northbound. ====================================================================================================== After a one-month hiatus, this is the continuation of my AMCRA. In terms of the options given, I chose "Gather the crew!", with the mutiny being dealt with on the island, and their next moves being the repair of the ship and heading back to the open sea again. The island scenes shown are based on a common base with mildly varied scenery, but there is also the micro build of the island. I consider this to be a fair interpretation of "two builds". At this point in time it is still a WIP, but I am in the progress of writing backstories for all characters involved (only 16... ), which I hope to have done by the time the next AMCRA deadline is around. I hope @Professor Thaum is happy with the introduction of his characters twin brother. He has of course full veto rights in all future actions of Wesbert Thaum. He will receive some more background in the next chapter. As always, C&C are appreciated.
  17. Great build for the camp, and even greater writing for the story. Captain Mesabi (another one? is there anybody NOT a Captain in this family?) is a true hero, fighting valiantly for the Crown! I like how neutral the Oleanders were portrayed, despite the fact that they show their face as the war criminals - which they definitely are - here once again. After glorious victory, swift and fair justice was served by Captain Mesabi, well done!
  18. Writing for the next issue has begun, so if you want to have your voice heard in the WTCM: now is the time to speak up. Also a friendly reminder for everybody: the reward of 100DB for a large property of any kind (oder than plantation or fort) has not been claimed yet. Good idea. I will offer both versions.
  19. Hilarious! And a great raft design too, well done.
  20. Thank you! Thanks. Getting all those parts tiled did take some creativity, as I lack the parts to do it as I had wanted it. What you see here is a compromise really! Thank you, I appreciate the compliment, but have you seen all of my builds? There are quite a few builds I consider to be better than this one.
  21. Seen it, thanks! If possible: cool. What does it mean though? Are there upsides or downsides? I simply do not know. Excellent.
  22. "Golden Jack" had once again proven that his self-proclaimed reputation might have been... too optimistic. His latest attempt at prospecting had found a rock quarry east of Mesabi Landing. But the WTC takes what it can get - and gives nothing back! A grumpy overseer coordinated the mining, while severe lack of workers meant that some WTC Marines had to help out in the mine for the time being: During a break, some WTC Marines have a little discussion: "Sure, water is refreshing, but I prefer me some good rum. And these sausage... eh, clearly not horse meat! And the grease goes all over your hands, horrible!" ===================================================================================================== Licensed as a mine for Mesabi Landing. Some more pictures: It seems the WTC has no big luck with its prospecting attempts, but it is what it is! Together with the brick factory it means that building materials are abundant on Argentia though! As always, C&C are appreciated.
  23. Aye, a nice build indeed. There are a lot of little scenes to watch, and those WIP ships are well done. I do like that there is an interior to the office building (but I doubt the roof could hold that crane ). While the variety of browns used is good, I would have appreciated a bit more colour. Apart from that the only other suggestion would be to maybe tile the water with trans-blue pieces, to differentiate the water a bit more from the brown studded piers. Overall: well done! I really appreciate that Quinnsville is getting some love again.
  24. I do not know if it is of importance for the Account Summary sheet, but Mesabi Landing has a new settlement thread, to replace the old one.
  25. Since the old thread had become quite a mess, with approval from @Bregir this new thread has been set up for Era II. My special thanks go to @Ayrlego, whose Jameston thread I used as a template with only minor changes - a very clean design, well done! I will try to keep this thread updated on time to the best of my abilities. If anybody spots a mistake, please let me know either in this thread or via PM. Thanks in advance!
