  1. It is only the announcement for now. Any coverage - positive, neutral or negative - depends on how the event goes. And whether the press is invited of course.
  2. I just want to let everybody know that issue #3 is in the works, meaning: If you want to have an article or letter of yours included, please send me the text via PM before the coming Saturday. If you want to claim the current incentive, please let me know via PM before the coming Saturday. Otherwise the offer ends with the release of issue #3. The letter from @Captain Genaro will be in issue #3, and point 2. does not apply to @Lord Buckethead, who already contacted me. I hope @Bregir is fine with me including the announcement for the Great Ball into the advertisement section?
  3. Fort Mesabi is operational, licensed as a medium fortification.
  4. Still a very odd definition of "has recently received".
  5. I think the whole idea is awesome! A nice opportunity to bring ingame characters together, a great possibility for new stories and quite an ambitious building project. My sigfig will still be in the jungles of Celestia for quite some time, but I would like the following three characters to attend the Great Ball: Mordo of the WTC Wilbur Epper II., Secretary of Science in King's Harbour Gonzo "Drunknok" Thompson, editor of the "WTC Monthly" In the spoilers you can find a picture of each character, their motivation to attend the ball, ideas for character interactions and the parts used for the respective minifig.
  6. I want to sell two (2) shares of the Royal Cocovia Wagonway to the Crown of Corrington, at a price of 150DB per share, i.e. the original buying price. Once the money is transferred to my account I consider the deal done.
  7. And ingame that translates to a "Large Town" I am afraid. How about a seperate thread for replies to the invitation? That could be useful for keeping those minifig discussions in one place, and not clutter up this thread.
  8. True! But this one wil serve in quite some stories in the near future, so I thought it might be a good idea to show it "naked" for now. P.S.: I do not have the parts for a "WTC Captain", any suggestions here? Or do I just make up something of my own?
  9. Thanks! The "cannon level" gave me some headaches indeed. What you see is a result of some compromises. I really wanted to include that window section - I imagine it being the location where the forts commander observes the battle. Cannonballs flying, glas shattering... it makes for a better story than "impenetrable wall of AWESOME". As for the cannons: the wheeled versions (like with most official Lego sets) did not look good in my opinion. While they are fixed in the build, I imagine there being some kind of mechanism to turn them to different angles - it is just not seen as things are right now. It is far from perfect, but I did not have the space or parts for a more elaborate solution. Thank you! The palmtree is of almost the same design @Mesabi uses in a lot of his builds, so I like to include it in my WTC builds as often as possible.
  10. The obviously incompetent commanding officer of Fort Agravia had posed the WTC with a dilemma: could they rely on the Crowns forces to actually protect Mesabi Landing in times of need, or would they have to take matters into their own hands? Since the WTC is not known for pointless debates about important matters, it was quickly decided to build a fortification of their own, while asking Governor Allcock to relieve said incompetent officer of his duties and support their case. While no reply from the Governor had arrived in Mesabi Landing yet, at least the forts construction had been finished. Situated on the other side of the port, Fort Mesabi was no protecting not only the island of Argentia and Mesabi Landing, but also the nearby trade routes and a considerable portion of neighbouring Cascadia. This came to no little surprise to Major Bradley when he finally arrived in Mesabi Landing just days ago. As to what his orders or intentions were, was unclear for the being - but it would without doubt cause trouble for the WTC... Facing the settlement is a heavily fortified gate, guarded by the trusted WTC Infantry - they even got shiny new hats! Apart from guarding the settlement, they also observe the sea from the top of a watchtower: On the other side, towards the open Brick Sea, is a battery of massive 48-pounders, manned by the WTC Artillery: In the courtyard, Mordo discussed the latest developments with one of the WTC Operators: "I do not know what took them so long, but the Crown has finally sent one of its many underlings here. Since the fort is done, they have to live with it, but only the gods know what kerfuffle they will make about it. May I once again remind you and all the WTC men and women that we are under close observation for the time being? Act accordingly, and BEHAVE!" "Yes Mr. Mordo. Everybody has been given strict orders, rum and horse are off the menu. The guys and gals know that things can only return to normal once those redshirts are out of town again - the sooner the better. Disobedience will be handled by Him, which will be enough to keep everybody in line." "Very well then, make it so." If it was actually well... only time will tell. =================================================================================== This build will be licensed as a medium fortification in the settlement of Mesabi Landing. I had fun building this, even though a lot of things got tried and rebuilt (compare it to the WIP pictures in one of the links above!). I am very happy with the results, and have not even shown some of the "play features" so far. You see, the whole main building comes apart in modular sections: The lowest level has an armoury and a prisoners cell - currently unoccupied. For better access the stairs are easily removable (it does not always stay in place, you can see this on one picture). Removing the stairs also reveals a door to an underground level with the quarters, kitchen and whatnot - which I might build at a later point in time. As always, C&C is welcome and appeaciated.
  11. Only ships, or all kinds of licenses?
  12. With the Cranky Parrot on mission to the north, the WTC needed another ship for transport duty. Something for small-scale transport to nearby ports. As a result, the WTC Drunken Dragon was constructed: Two swivel guns at the front should be enough to drive off small pirate ships - for everything else the WTC Drunken Dragon has to rely on its speed and maneuvrability. After posting a previous version of this in the Shipwrights Guild Hall, another setup for the sails was suggested. I adapted the build accordingly, and am much happier with this second version - many thanks to @Legostone for that! Overall nothing special, but I like how the hinged hull turned out, and it is the first time I got to use my new shiny WTC parts. The WTC Drunken Dragon has been licensed as a class 2 ship.
  13. I see that my money has been taken, but no income is shown yet...
  14. Payment for two (2) shares for the Royal Cocovia Wagonway has been transferred. I could drown him in WTC cannons...
  15. @Brickwolf Thank you very much for organising this cooperation! It has inspired me to some great ideas, and pushed me to some builds I have now fond memories of. I hope we will see some follow-up stories in the future!
  16. Is this something people represent with builds? How is the militia related to other armed forces?
  17. You better be careful man, them's fightin' words!
  18. When it comes to settlement size, each "level" comes with certain stats, one of which is "Militia Size by Crew Attribute". For example a Large Town has a MSbCA of 1. What does that mean IC and in EGS terms?
  19. With most of this story before my time here, I can not wait how this "reboot" continues! Dark magic FTW!
  20. Wow! What an impressive build! The architecture, the colouring, the details, the scene in front... perfection all around! Absolutely incredible, well done! Is it possible to get some more detailed pictures of the carriage, the lower level windows and the brickwork (both grea and green)? Thanks in advance!
  21. I have a few more of them, and want to use them on another ship, so will keep this in mind. With this one I just "built away", and came up with the result shown above. Seeing how much better the historical counterpart looks, I just might redo the masts though...
  22. Thanks a lot, that solved my problem. A class 2 it will be then. She is longer than my Cranky Parrot (a definite class 2), with about the same width, but less height. I see no argument supporting her being a class 1, she is a good bit larger than any class 1 ship I know of. The upper yards solved a stability issue with the sails, and look nice in my opinion. I am not looking for historical accuracy with my ship builds.
  23. Don't worry! Mistakes happen - I have made an aweful lot myself.
  24. @LM71Blackbird I just noticed something worth mentioning: you licensed this build as a medium plantation - which it is not. Please have another look at the property list: plantations have different sizes for small/medium/large/royal properties, with 32x32 actually being "only" a small plantation. Just keep this in mind for the future.
  25. A simple question concerning licensing: would the following ship count as a class 2 or a class 3?
