@Duq I’m not a mod but I’ve started and changed the names of several discussion topics. If you click edit on the starting post of the thread, you can edit everything including the title. I’ve used this to add more tags to discussion topics when new sets are released, but also changed names of threads - the ones I’ve created are now all ‘XYZ - Rumours and Discussion’. It should be easy - the only possibility of which I’m unsure that could prevent it is if relocation of a thread by a mod impacts what you can do.

Fx Bricks (Michael Gale) announces Fx Track system
Vilhelm22 replied to HoMa's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I agree. Motors would be good if they could have an easily connectable option for DCC. Being British, my first port of call for different DCC decoder types after seeing your comment was the Hornby website. They have 22 different decoders, with special sounds specific to certain locomotives. Enclosing a decoder would make this more difficult - sound wouldn’t be a given feature, as a diesel, an electric, and a steam locomotive very obviously sound completely different. -
I’ve just had a thought. LEGO currently has four trains on the market that either include or can be upgraded with Powered Up: Disney Train & Station Crocodile Locomotive Passenger Train Cargo Train According to rumours for the first two plus logic for the others, in 9 months all these will have been retired. Is it possible the system is changing again? There’s been a lot of criticism and no new sets have been made that use the app since the crocodile, released July 1st 2020. Only 7 sets have used the app total - has it been deemed a total failure?

Fx Bricks (Michael Gale) announces Fx Track system

@michaelgale I completely understand your reasoning - I admittedly have abnormally long coaches under construction, and I realise there aren’t many in the market for R188! On the motors, it really was just wishful thinking - steam trains have a slightly different market. I’d forgotten you were also doing power pickups - those will definitely be all I need! Vilhelm22 -

I think I got the idea for a Chinese restaurant to go with 80107 from you actually - I couldn't remember who, just that I loved it when you posted it on here! -
Lego City 2022 Rumours, Leaks, Information And Discussion
Vilhelm22 replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Bit harsh. I understand the police thing - it’s definitely got progressively worse the past few years - but this list is all compared to previous versions. I agree with a number of these, but there are others which I’ve seen in use, and they are insanely popular with children. Tuning Workshop is actually a really pretty good set, so is Capital City, and the collection of many features in thesemakes for many imaginary scenes. The ice cream truck’s pretty good too - even if the thing on top ain’t great, it’s a good fun vehicle, and also looks great next to the pizza van from a few years back. I personally hope we get more food trucks in the future. Fish and chips would be quality. -
LEGO Ideas Discussion

Yeah - it was in June when the last review results came out (the next ones should be out very shortly). It really depends on what’s on the shelves/in development right now, plus it’s harder with 30+ ideas every review now. At the time there was the Central Perk, and released shortly after were the Friends Apartments and Seinfeld. The Flintstones has just been discontinued. With 123 Sesame Street and Winnie the Pooh also being TV licensed sets gaining appeal from AFOLs due to memories, Home Alone and Sonic Mania already approved, and the additional Stranger Things Upside Down, I’m honestly not surprised. The list of AFOL appealing licensed sets from tv shows available at the moment is huge - unfortunately making the chances of many more being approved slim. Jumanji just fell at an unlucky time. It’s a great idea and could easily have been successful in previous reviews, but IDEAS is now slightly flawed, with 57 projects in the upcoming round of review results. A shame though - I really liked that one. However, it could be part of a future Bricklink Designer Program with this clearly becoming a permanent thing. -

The Stratocaster looks insane - one of the most accurate builds of real life objects I’ve seen. My guitar obsessed friend who seems to have met everyone famous like Pete Townsend, Ozzy Osborne (his godfather) and Paul McCartney actually has the real thing, so he’s particularly happy to add this to his guitar collection... -

Transatlantic shipping is messed up for everything. I ordered vinyl 3 weeks ago, it's only just shipped, and will take 8 weeks to get to me. It's not just Fx Bricks, nor JB Spielwaren - it's everything everywhere. On a different note, @michaelgale I'm aware you will be producing curves up to and including R152, but will you ever go beyond? TrixBrix produces R184, will you go up to that? Also, will you produce motors in the future with larger than standard wheels - steam locomotives particularly have large drivers and harder to conceal train motors. -

Apparently Sonic will be released January 1st according to JediJacPenguin. -
I'm now switching to 1 stud to 1 foot - 1:38 scale. It's a new, unofficial but supported by some, concept for trains called the L-Gauge Prototype. It allows amazing accuracy. Only problem is I need R120 curves. I'm going to make future MOC vehicles at this scale. Oops didn't realise that the previous comment was the first in five years on this thread - apologies to all.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Vilhelm22 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Ninjago City and Ninjago City Gardens were corners though and they’ve had no impact - nor has Daily Bugle or Ninjago City Docks. I think they’ll be they’re own separate line really - I kinda think we might get a smaller Chinese New Year modular restaurant or similar to go with 80107 next year. I’ve brought this up in this thread too: Good to see that though people may say I’m a dreamer, I’m not the only one. What I’d really like is a 32x48 modular now, and 32x64 for 20th... A 32x48 corner would also be pretty cool in my opinion, which it would probably be if it was 32x48 this year. One thing I will bring up is that apparently City is getting a school in 2022. I think this probably makes a school this coming year unlikely. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Vilhelm22 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Unfortunately this is true. One of my favourite modulars, 10232 Palace Cinema, was the last single purpose building. Thats 9 years ago this coming January. There have been a couple outside the modular line - Spring Lantern Festival and Daily Bugle - but no main line single purpose modular since PC. Most have also had at least one frontage - with the exception of PR, DD and CG since PC. -
Interestingly Space Troopers is now the only model not in the Test Building phase for Round 3. Mountain View O observatory, intended for Round 1, is now into Test Building so will be in Round 3. Luckily for me The Train Station: Studgate has been made one of the Round 3 projects, which I'm now expecting in early 2022, so I hope I'll be able to pick that one up.

Camp Nou has just been officially announced and is available now from shop.lego.com. It looks beautiful - it's a more desirable set than Old Trafford in my opinion, and they're only charging £50 more for 1600 extra pieces - the set has 5509 pieces, placing it at number 8 in a list of Largest LEGO Sets ever - 5 of the top 10 have been released since 1st January 2020, namely World Map (1), Colosseum (2), Ninjago City Gardens (6), Diagon Alley (7), and Camp Nou (8).- 259 replies

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Vilhelm22 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Well it's a lot more realistic than a train station as urban bus operations are done at street level. Ah ok - I'd actually forgotten that. Luckily I never actually bet, because I would have lost my money! Agreed. The Police Station, even if I haven't yet picked it up due to focusing more on retiring sets this past year, is a beauty which I will definitely get next year. My top three are probably a hospital, museum, and post office. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Vilhelm22 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Still doesn’t tell us what it is though. These sets are actually more like 2-3 years in development. This way they are able to have some interaction between them - with a few exceptions, the modulars generally look pretty good next to each other when displayed in order of year of release - 2013-17 do this particularly well. It was through this method that the car appeared in DD to go with a tow truck in CG - I can bet the car wasn’t originally part of the idea. Using this logic, it makes me think that this year’s modular will have a slightly shorter, and possibly set back, left side. I think the side could be something like the steps to the roof terrace in PR - the DD the following year was considerably shorter on that side to work well with that lowered side. I’m expecting a similar result from this year’s. Still hoping for a Post Office. In the past I and others have mentioned a modular train station but let’s face it - it won’t happen, it would be too short anyway, and is totally unrealistic. The only real life stations with city street entrances are subway stations, and that can’t be done without raising every single modular. -

First official thing for the Camp Nou set - a ‘coming soon’ Instagram post. The FC Barcelona GWP has also been leaked on shop.lego.com Australia, as shown by Brickset. 40485 FC Barcelona Celebration 18+ 178 pieces The assumed date of release is September 1st due to leakage makes sense, and accords with the recent post by Lego on Instagram.- 259 replies

This thread’s been dormant for quite some time considering it’s a discussion thread for an active theme. Anyway, according to the reliable leaks website of JediJacPenguin, the Elvis mosaic plus one mystery other are still set to be released this year. If I remember correctly leaked images weren’t long before release with these sets, so they could surprise us soon. His other rumour, I spotted on Instagram, is a 2022 release of a 4000+ pieces set: 21226 Art Project - Create Together. This will apparently be a design your own art set, similar to Architecture’s Studio set a few years back. I’m quite interested for this one. Note the set number 21226 - a 20 set gap between the last rumoured 2021 set and this. Interested to see the future of these...

Botanical Collection - Rumours and Discussion
Vilhelm22 replied to Vilhelm22's topic in Special LEGO Themes
This year’s releases having pretty clearly come to an end, assuming the yet to be revealed numbers up to 10295 are all true, meaning next year should probably come into consideration. The top of my list, as mentioned previously, would be a cactus, preferably in a simple flower pot. Maybe some daffodils? For a Bird of Paradise Flower equivalent I’d love a fuchsia.- 137 replies

The combination works really well - this looks excellent! I particularly like the petrol stations out the front. Many of the classic sets used here have specific baseplates required for them - special ones that only appeared in that set or a few from the era. There used to be far more specialised baseplates in sets than there are now. However, these are quite hard to find, and don't work great with the new sets - with larger cars, the roads need to be wider, and the greys have actually changed. As the classic sets require classic baseplates, the realistic option is to keep both, just as @Moz77 has done. There are big YouTubers who use both - Alex Nunes, who has 88k subs and a 350 square foot city, uses both kinds extensively. @Moz77 - I think the use of both kinds looks brilliant.

Chinese New Year Sets - Rumors and Discussion
Vilhelm22 replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
How about a 32x48 stud modular set with 2 16x32 corner modulars and a gateway, like the type at the entrance to a Chinatown in European and American cities? -
It’s pretty clear that there is only going to be one Architecture set this year. That’s not great. The one thing I will say is that at least they’re not churning out more of those rubbish skylines. Those are simply for money making purposes - cheap enough to not be seen as too expensive after a visit to a city. I’d personally be in favour of more large sets - I picked up the Empire State specifically to go with my Tower Bridge, Sydney Opera House, and Taj Mahal from the Creator Expert line. It now looks rather smaller than it did when I built it. Unfortunately I agree that the true architectural interest days are gone, without a major rehash of the theme. The only way I can realistically see it happening would a makeover into two subcategories - a sort of tourist section and an architectural interest one. Just my thoughts on the matter. Actually, thinking about it, could a makeover be the reason for there being only one architecture set this year?
