  1. Does anyone think a large, minifigure scaled D2C set of Rapunzel's Tower from Tangled could be good seller amongst adult fans, Disney and Lego alike? Though not as nearly as large as this creation, a set would probably be just as detailed.
  2. Well, I guess that is true regarding those consumers' interest in the Lego brand, as it's the novelty of various pop culture icons and characters being reimagined in the form of yet another pop culture icon, Lego.
  3. If we do see yet another Expert/Advanced locomotive set in the near future, I'd imagine that it would most definitely be a steam locomotive, as the last two Expert/Advanced locomotive sets were diesel/electric ones. And hey, if not this year, it will have been ten years come 2019 since the Emerald Night was released; so, like with the Winter Village train set*, perhaps we'll see a spiritual successor to the Emerald Night next year instead. *The Winter Village train set was released in 2016, ten years after the release of the last holday themed train set.
  4. Dang, excellent entry you've done there @Leewan! I think what I really like about this creation, is that it doesn't look like a microscale build, but a larger minifigure scale one instead. Kind of reminds me of the work of Fredoichi, who's microscale creations also give me that same impression. Here are a few albums of his work, categorized by genre: Flickr - Mechs, Multipeds, and Robots Flickr - Starfighters Flickr - Sky-Fi
  5. Ah, well, I wouldn't say that. I feel there most likely will be at least some interesting insight to gleam from.

  7. I've seen quite a few gargantuan Ice Planet rovers in the past before, but I've completely missed this one.
  8. Exactly, as I've heard @LegoMonorailFan make the exact same argument for Space in the past too. Now some may argue that City is an exception only because its current setting and subjects are familiar and relevant in everyday life to most kids; but with Castle, I think that too is still a very relevant archetypical story and setting that's still very prevalent in most children's media. It's not gone the way of the Dodo bird like other popular historical genres, much like the American West of the late 1800's back in the 1950's.

  11. You know, revisiting your question, maybe this could be the way to go for the next Space theme. Technically it would be a Aquazone theme parading as a Space theme, thereby avoiding similarity with Star Wars. And, since Lego had flirted with the idea of a aqua-set Space theme back in the nineties with Sea-Tron, it might be something they would want to reconsider. Plus, the upcoming sequel to James Cameron's Avatar reportedly features a setting on a water covered moon, thereby acting perhaps as currently relevant concept of familiarity that such a theme can bank on. I'd also like to add that I really appreciate all the not-yet-seen Trans-Yellow part recolors you featured in your project, such as the Speed Champions windshield and two-brick-high half cylinder part.

  14. I believe those qualifiers come from one of the names of the episodes/stories, something like "Diesel and his Devious Deeds", while "oily" I'm pretty sure was an adjective used to describe the character in the original stories.
  15. Wow. You've made quite a comprehensive, insightful collection of arguments there, and they really are all excellent points! But this one in particular is one I've never thought of before. Maybe it has been brought up in other discussions in the past, but I've never myself heard it before, and it's a pretty solid one. I've heard this idea thrown around before in other discussions, and it's still a pretty good one for a City crossover that doesn't sound that farfetched. Another idea I've had for a City/Castle crossover would be for an Archaeology subtheme, with a excavation team uncovering the ruins of a medieval castle and its relics, maybe with buried royal treasure as the subtheme's object of pursuit.
  16. Ooooh, such deviously oily diesel you've done there.
  17. I'm really happy to hear that! As always!
  18. The new track system really is the closest thing we've seen currently to the old monorail system, as even normal "L-Gauge" track doesn't include inclines, so I'm certain your project will catch the eyes of Ideas staff as so to make it a staff pick. By the way, do you have a Flickr account? If you do, and haven't already, you really should post it there to attract more attention. If you haven't a Flickr account, at least post a topic of it here on Eurobricks, simply so it won't just be buried here on this topic.
  19. Good luck @danth! I hope your entry receives much attention, as ten days feels like such a short time for voting, likewise during the review too.
  20. Of course, so many probably do agree with you on that. And its not just animals, many feel that the presence of minidolls in that theme deprives us of so many needed and useful female minifigures. Sure, why not? This subfourm really needs the traffic, as it is most underappreciated.
  21. I think Lego did something like this with the Friends theme for awhile, with several series worth of polybags that each included a unique animal and complementary build. You just know @Roebuck will be all over this topic.
  22. If they wanted to commemorate that anniversary, they would have started developing the set a little while ago, so I think it would be too late if they were to start now. But still, yes, I'd love to see a streamlined steam locomotive. Though I would prefer an American one, a British one would more likely have a much broader appeal for both American and British audiences.
  23. Good luck Doc! A mini CS themed spacecraft would certainly be the most ideal winner to see as a set.

Here's a topic just posted by drclark on his entry:
  25. YES!!! Well how do you like that?
