  1. Same here, and this variant could have remedied that, but it didn't.
  2. Now, the only problem with automobile related institutions, is that automobiles in modular sets usually haven't been very well received by fans of the line. Hopefully, a modular set that is centered around automobiles can change that opinion, depending on how well the cars are done. I too can see all three of those being possibilities, as I sort of feel that the Downtown Diner has set a new course for the line towards more institutions centered around "fun" so to speak.
  3. If that's what you're hoping for, what would you expect and/or hope to see for 2019 and beyond? Likewise, what would you expect and/or hope to see in the future if the Modular Building line were to continue in this direction? Personally, I could see something automobile related in succession, perhaps like, say, either a mechanic's shop, a gas station, or a automobile showroom.
  4. Apparently, Legoland Florida will be replacing their Legends of Chima themed boat ride with a new The Lego Movie themed attraction, expected to open during Spring 2019. Orlando Business Journal - Legoland Florida taps into hit movie for new expansion I wonder if we might see any developmental concept art for this new attraction shedding some early light on the sequel, as it's opening comes after the movie's theatrical release. If anything, I'd expect the musical numbers to have a wide range of style and appeal, possibly ranging from Batman's beat-boxing to something absolutely girly coming from UniKitty. Above all, I'd also expect each number to be a overblown parody of each musical genre being represented, so the music might have an irreverent tone that could be a lot of fun, making it tolerable for even those who despise musicals. We don't yet know how much of a musical this sequel will be anyway, as Chris McKay's statement might be coming from his observation that the film has only a few more musical numbers than the last film, depending on how many in his opinion warrants the "musical" label.
  5. I've never watched the film nor listened to its score before, but yeah, I too kinda like that actually! I see it's composed by James Newton Howard, who is one of my favorite film composers, as his scores for both Peter Jackson's King Kong and Disney's Atlantis: The Lost Empire are absolutely glorious!
  6. That's what I thought afterwards when I saw this image posted by @Catanas over on the DC 2018 topic. Too bad, as it would have been a great opportunity to introduce the short-eared cowl in Gunmetal Metallic Grey. But, besides that, it's a pretty darn cool looking variant for a minifigure!
  7. On a side note, here are official images of the three train sets from Duplo for summer: The Brick Fan - LEGO DUPLO Summer 2018 Set Images
  8. I hope he has an undamaged mask on the opposite side of his head, because other than that, that's one wild design for a comic variant! So, I'm now wondering what we should expect as far Batman variants for the RC Batmobile.
  9. Here's a custom Cartoon Network CMS draft done by MarioPower of Instagram, with renders by @Ashnflash!
  10. Already, you've shown a pretty interesting assortment here! Looking quite forward to what else you may have!
  11. Same here! I much prefer that piece from his score over the film's unofficial theme, An Ideal of Hope . Gosh, I haven't rewatched that movie in a while, come to think of it. Oh sure, that's a pretty fun score of James Horner's. P.S. Your drawing of The Rocketeer in minifigure form is one of my favorite art pieces of yours! Well, sometimes they are the best pieces for particular film scores. For instance, two of my favorite film score flight pieces are Big Hero 6's First Flight by Henry Jackman, and How to Train Your Dragon's Test Flight by John Powell.

  13. From the looks of his figure in the tie-in movie, Atrocitus would be an easy figure to do, especially considering that his armor piece in Bright Red already exists, first seen on the villain in 2014's 70162 Infearno Interception. But, as a promotional figure, I doubt his legs would be dual molded.
  14. If Lego ever does a proper Daily Planet playset, that's where I think we'd see one appear. Sure, Lego could place him into any Superman themed set as a "citizen in peril" archetype, but I feel Olson would be a given in a considerably large Daily Planet build, with at least Clark Kent, Lois Lane, and Perry White as company. Hey, if Warner Bros. ever decided to do a solo LEGO Superman Movie in the far future, Jimmy would most definitely be a given!
  15. Wow. As extraordinary as its magnificent exterior is, my favorite parts of this station have to be both its roof and Earth Blue/Medium Azure floor tiling inside! You mean this one?
  16. So, if these movies are meant to advertise playsets that are already currently available, perhaps that villain's appearance in the movie indicates that there was a set meant to be released this year that has been cancelled? After all, we can presume that's what happened to those two 2018 DC SuperHero Girls sets.
  17. Ah, I forgot about that one! If anything, I just might have unconsciously had that project in the back of my head when proposing that idea.
  18. Congratulations on your creation being frontpaged @Space Police XVIII!
  19. A minidoll biplane? Who would've thought?! Say, is a Sky-Fi subtheme for Friends perhaps on the horizon?
  20. Here's the MOC he's talking about, if you haven't seen it already. I saw it the other day over on The Brothers Brick blog myself.

  22. By the way, I just came across this unfinished architectural build by Flickr user Darryl Friesen, which I thought was pretty darn cool looking as far as Art Deco Lego architecture goes! Apparently, it was to be inspired after Britain's Battersea Power Station, but he ran out of bricks unfortunately. Flickr - Baronsea Power Station
