The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part
Digger of Bricks replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
At this point, I sort of agree. Oh well, at least they're not digitally contorting their solid plastic components, which is a good thing. Same here! -
Just bringing it here for readers who may not have seen it (which is quite unlikely). Just like her helmet, it has a light retro touch to it, especially with that upper crest that seems to mirror the one on her helmet. But, ultimately, it's more of a pod-like spacecraft as opposed to a retro rocketcraft.

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part
Digger of Bricks replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
OK, I'm sold on this approach! Yesterday, when I first read the official synopsis, the fact that the Duplo gag from the end of the first film was definitely going to be foundational to the plot of this movie sounded both unexpected and strange to me. But, having this follow-up set during a post-apocalyptic aftermath is rather clever, kinda like a blend of the follow-up plots for both The Incredibles 2 (beginning right after the ending of the last film) and Toy Story 3 (if you know what I mean by that). As for all the new part and playset potential already seen in this teaser, well, I'm still pouring over that. -
Creator Expert Cars - Rumors, Discussion, and Speculation
Digger of Bricks replied to SheldonF's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I sort of feel that modern cars are going to be unofficially assigned to flagship Technic sets like this year's Bugatti Chiron and last year's 911, while the Creator Expert line may deal only with classics. As far as mere wishlisting goes, there is this topic. -
This is stunningly gorgeous! There's just so much exquisite, Art Deco NPU detailing on both the floors and walls of this interior creation! I especially love the ever so slightly inset parlor area in this lobby!

So, Tiffany Haddish will be voicing a character named Queen Watevra Wa-Nabi, while Arturo Castro will be voicing another new character named... Ice Cream Cone. -
The LEGO Movie 2: References Predictions?
Digger of Bricks replied to Dorayaki's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
True, especially regarding the original's quirky vibe; but, Andy Serkis' Caesar was just such an amazing character for me, one that a minifigure for would be incredibly awesome to see in a tie-in set! -
I'm pretty sure Lego would want to retain the individuality of each Ideas set by not approving a complimentary successor project. That's what I think their foremost reason was for rejecting those two follow-ups.

The LEGO Movie 2: References Predictions?
Digger of Bricks replied to Dorayaki's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
I know the Statue of Liberty is rather referencing the 1968 classic, but I'd be totally amazed if Warner Brothers managed to get Andy Serkis' Caesar from 20th Century Fox as a cameo. -

It is indeed, and her name is... The Brick Fan - The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part Sweet Mayhem Character Revealed I'm personally hoping for a revised minidoll from this sequel that can solve those animation issues, but that would be getting my hopes up too much... -
Disney Movies and TV Shows Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Oky's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Snow White is the strangest looking of the bunch stylistically, but I suppose they were just trying to fit her into a consistent aesthetic, as all the others look like they transitioned over without much reworking. Still... -
Here's to hoping this movie's tie-in sets give us some seriously sick SPACESHIPS!!! Oh, dang, I completely missed that even after several look-overs! That's what I was wondering, as it should've been posted in the Special Themes subforum like the 2014 discussion topics for the first movie's tie-in products. What do you think @Captain Nemo?
-
Or, we'll see an all-new sci-fi minidoll theme follow-up after the sequel, to make usage of whatever other new parts may be introduced by the movie's tie-in sets...

That helmet has a particular Japanese Sci-Fi/Anime/Manga look to it, but its crest in particular is so freaking retro! Here's to hoping it makes its way into other themes...

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part
Digger of Bricks replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Yes, just from the looks of that minidoll alone, I too am so freaking hyped for this sequel's trailer release tomorrow! Oh, and that Max Max get-up some of the original gang are wearing... Wow, so they're directly following through with that Duplo invasion aren't they? Perhaps it's a prelude? ^ This, first and foremost! Looking quite forwards to seeing that new helmet piece in it's physical form! I wonder how the visor will work? Hmmm, maybe? I kinda want to say that is the case the more I look at it. -
Inspirational Modular and Castle MOCs
Digger of Bricks replied to LegoModularFan's topic in LEGO Town
All three of your picks for today are most extraordinary! I love the Earth Orange archwork on the first one by @Cecilie, that wild looking roof on the Prairie House, and the overall color scheme of that last one by @P@u!+ox.- 817 replies

I'm surprised that Lego hadn't decided to make the latest Hogwarts Express a D2C to begin with, as I'm pretty sure both general consumers and Harry Potter fans would've willingly bought that just as easily. Hey, now that's a novel crossover idea I've never thought of before myself!

Creator Expert Cars - Rumors, Discussion, and Speculation
Digger of Bricks replied to SheldonF's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Two other automobile brands I could see being utilized by the Creator Expert theme would be for BMW and Volvo, which have so far only been utilized by the Technic theme. With BMW, I'd wish to see either a 507 Roadster or a 328, while a P1800 Coupe for Volvo would certainly be a beauty. -
The LEGO Movie 2: References Predictions?
Digger of Bricks replied to Dorayaki's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
I was recently wondering whether or not this may happen given that Warner Brothers (through WAG) also has a cinematic Minecraft movie releasing the same year. Maybe they could at least shoehorn a cameo in there for promotion of that film? Speaking of such, what do you think about the possibility of the Wizard of Oz returning for this one, after the appearance of the Wicked Witch and her monkeys in The Lego Batman Movie? -
If only someone could pry the merchandising rights to the Thomas the Tank Engine franchise away from Mattel, then we'd have a winner! But, alas...
