  1. If anyone here likes unofficial Lego books, No Starch Press has three upcoming publications that may be of interest to readers of this topic, and this subforum for that matter: The LEGO Architecture Idea Book: 1001 Ideas for Brickwork, Siding, Windows, Columns, Roofing, and Much, Much More! by Alice Finch The LEGO Neighborhood Book 2: Build Your Own City! by Bryan Lyles and Jason Lyles LEGO Micro Cities: Build Your Own Mini Metropolis! by Jeff Friesen
  2. Hey there again @ZoulBrick! After seeing a render of a eight-wide version you'd recently done (pictured below), I was wondering if you'd be able to also render a four-wide version of part 45705.
  3. Unless they're simply advertising upcoming Disney branded BrickHeadz in general, I presume they're teasing the rumored Mickey and Minnie ones we heard of earlier. Based upon that image, I wonder if they'll both be "vintage" styled.
  4. Here's a more specific question pertaining to Lego movies: What actor/actress would you wish to see do a voice roll in a potential future movie? Futhermore, what sort of archetype or character could you see them portraying?
  5. I will say this though, upon seeing the side profile of that new helmet, at least minidoll headgear parts like that are also designed with consideration to compatibility with the Lego minifigure. But, you can't quite say that it works the other way around.
  6. For those who visit this topic, Flickr user Matth Cornelis (a.k.a. cornholiosbricks) also has a lot of unproduced bricks and parts he's shared over on Flickr, mostly composed of unseen recolors as opposed to unmade molds: Flickr - minifigure related prototypes | Flickr - lego prototypes non minifigure | Flickr - marbled lego | Flickr - lego prototypes never released | Flickr - lego technic testcolors/prototypes/q parts
  7. Another regular CMS (Series 20) would be most preferable, but if I were to wish for a licensed CMS, I do think we're quite overdue for a second Disney CMS. As for a special non-licensed series, such as Series 14 and 18, please let it be more like the former and less like the latter.
  8. Despite its slight clunkiness, I really enjoy this build's incorporation of chrome and "macaroni" tiles, especially the way you used the larger macaroni tile for the front fenders!
  9. Thunderbirds would certainly give us some great rocketships, something I don't think many Lego sets have touched upon. Granted, the types of craft seen from that franchise aren't the types of rocketships I'd personally wish to see from Lego, but they'd be rocketships nonetheless. I've never heard of that craft of theirs before, but now I see what you mean...
  10. Now in my opinion, I do think the current Lego "BigFig" is much more abominable than the minidoll. Their limited connectivity and specialization that you mentioned nulls any of my own nitpicking complaints I have for the minidoll. From the start, the "BigFig" should've been a double-sized copy of the minifigure, with a 2ร—2 footprint for a single foot as reference. But, that's a debate for another topic... There are probably other headgear parts that I haven't experimented with that would share the same problem, but for instance, none of the three Batcowls we have so far can fit over a minidoll head correctly due to the head's geometry. And that's the thing, it's not so much about compatibility that concerns me, but the overall geometry of the minidoll that does. It is funny that The Lego Movie 2 should portray the minidoll as an extraterrestrial, because their geometry is very foreign to the brick. Oh sure, I did get a good laugh from that little detail! But, ironically, there is one thing I see that animators did cheat with regarding their legs, and that is that they swing backwards just a little, which isn't technically possibly in actuality. Now granted, I do remember the same was done for the minifigure for The Lego Movie, when Emmett stretches back in his apartment.
  11. A Creator Expert scaled time machine DeLorean would certainly remedy the lackluster minifigure-scaled build that the CUUSOO set gave us.
  12. Maybe that could be a possibility? According to IMDb, we at least know that Channing Tatum's Superman and Jonah Hill's Green Lantern will be returning in some way, so... ...or the Doctor (among others presumably) will be kidnapped by Sweet Mayhem like how the others had been.
  13. Well, I think it's just too crowded with all preexisting CMS lines that we already have to squeeze yet another franchise into the Collectable Minifigure mix. Now, if Lego could manage to release four series a year, I suppose that would probably be a lot more accommodating, without needing to sacrifice any preexisting lines for any particular year.
  14. Of course they don't, not necessarily that is; but, I do believe that more AFOLs would appreciate them to a greater degree for the sake of experimentation if they were, despite their overall aesthetic incompatibility with the traditional Lego minifigure. I guess you are right about that, thinking more about it, as there can't really be any sort of universal way to firmly set such parts over both torso types. Couldn't they have just printed them on instead? It's such a minor molded detail that causes much incompatible obstruction of many headgear parts.
  15. Check out this gargantuan, six-foot tall Wayne Manor and Batcave creation by @WetWired! The Brothers Brick - Incredible, fully lit LEGO Batman Wayne Manor with huge Batcave underneath stands over 6 feet tall [Exclusive]
  16. At this point in the game, mostly everyone is presuming that it's only a matter of time until Warner Brothers announces the rescheduling of that instalment's release date. Even if WB announced they had found the movie a new director this very week, I'm pretty sure they'd still reschedule it past its May 2019 release date. Speaking of such, someone here on Eurobricks did say they heard from someone else about this film definitely being rescheduled for some date in 2020:
  17. After reading all the insightful replies within this topic, I see that most users here have already addressed the majority of issues that minidolls pose for AFOLs, with many of those observations and opinions I've had myself. One thing though I hadn't seen addressed here by others is the issue of the minidoll's limited System compatibility. Compared to the traditional minifigure, there are only three attributes of minidoll that allow for System connections (not counting the anti-studs for their feet), that being the stud upon their heads, their clip hands, and their 318-bar neck stem. The arms of the male minidoll torso offer a light 318 clip connection; but besides that, I feel that designers overall didn't aim to make System compatibility a priority for the minidoll. Also, as a slightly related side-note, I do wish that newer minifigure and minidoll armor/cape/bodywear parts from 2012 onward had been designed at the time to at least be compatible with both types of figures. Plus, did minidolls really need noses? Some minifigure headgear parts won't fit over their heads as a result of that roadblock. I had vainly hoped in the past that would've been remedied by The Lego Movie 2 for the sake of more natural movement on-screen, but as we've seen from the teaser...
  18. Congratulations @ProjectGBK on gathering more than 700 supporters so far for this project!
  19. True, that's what I'd presume would be the case, but it's still strange that they had mentioned then that Emmett has a sister. Perhaps, at the time, they had just mixed up Emmett for Finn, hence they were referring to Finn's sister instead.
  20. Wait, what leak? Agreed, as I don't know why we haven't yet seen TLG utilize their partnerships with the Ford Motor Company and General Motors beyond just the Speed Champions line.
  21. Not exactly a movie to be honest, but last night, I just finished watching the first season of Amazon's The Man in the High Castle. Quite recommended for those who haven't seen it, as it's a better miniseries then I had expected it to be.
  22. By the way, does anyone figure that "Emmett's sister" will still be a component to the plot of this movie? Back in February 2015, Phil Lord and Chris Miller had this to say early on regarding the plot: The Brick Fan - More The LEGO Movie 2 Details Including Introduction ofโ€ฆ So, unless that element has been written out of the plot in rewrites since then, could Sweet Mayhem or Queen Watevra Wa-Nabi be that character? Even though she's a minidoll, it'd be interesting if Sweet Mayhem is Emmett's sister in a Darth Vader sort of way, if you know what I mean.
