  1. Thanks for the compliments, and sorry I didn't see your post earlier @Toxic43! I plan on getting the model ordered first thing next month. It currently sits at about $40 before S&H with only 433 parts to obtain. (I also plan on putting stickers on the sides of each car with the names spelled out on them.) Keep your eyes peeled for the real models sometime next month!
  2. Does it include a cryogenic vault to place his body in?
  3. Happy days are here again!
  4. You might want to take that video down... EB doesn't allow leaks, @Scarilian.
  5. The remaining $14 worth of parts have been ordered. All that was ordered was 95 parts... the rest is already assembled as shown, or in a bin waiting to go on the model. Honestly, I'll be glad to get this one done. Brittle Brown is really annoying to build with. I've cracked or shattered at least five parts so far. (that I know of!) I shudder to think what would happen should I ever accidentally drop it on the floor.
  6. Logan doesn't transform. If you look closely at the Crocodile car, inside is a driver wearing a ironman-like helmet. That is Logan. He's wearing the same checker pattern as Logan from the waking world.
  7. For those wondering about release dates: according to Brickset, it will be August before City sets hit US shelves. https://brickset.com/article/95701/city-and-friends-images-added-to-lego-com
  8. Ok. Sounds good to me! It should work fine then. I will warn you though, the 4x4 round bricks with technic hole you are using are also going to give you grief... But it's a nice model regardless!
  9. First of all, welcome to Eurobricks @Trainanatic! Second, welcome to Train Tech! Be sure to introduce yourself in the registry here in Train tech and make a 'hello' thread in the new member area of EB! Now, onto the MOC! You've done a splendid job in a not-so-easy color to work with, though some of the parts might be hard to find in those colors / types. For example, the green macaroni bricks I assume you've used for the boiler are extremely hard to find, with only two coming from a single set from over 20 years ago, and so they will not be available in the quantity you need... at least, not at sane prices! Besides that, it looks very nice shape-wise, but I will also warn you the driving wheels don't appear (I could be wrong, it could just be the angle) to be level with the 'floor' of the program... they will not touch the track if built in real life. Side note: EB doesn't host pictures except for avatars. You'll need Bricksafe, Flickr, or some other hosting site to link them into your post. @JopieK can give you more info on anything I forgot to say about that. (He's the train tech moderator) Good luck on your building journey!
  10. Sorry! got June and July mixed up, apologies. The post in question has been fixed.
  11. If you're in the USA, you won't be able to buy them until August 1st. Everywhere else on the globe (as far as I know) gets the sets June 1. ...Unless you don't get it directly from Lego, then the stores might break street-date and sell them early. I hope this answers your question, @danimarroquin.
  12. It's done, and the first post has been updated accordingly with new pictures and text. Thoughts?
  13. @ks6349 City has been on a downward slide design-wise for a while now, and quite a few people buy Friends buildings instead and just modify them for minifigs to compensate for lack of good designs. This might explain why some are more freely available than others. As for the modular buildings, they are a completely different case altogether: you can't compare Friends / City to them. It's like comparing apples and oranges... It just doesn't work. (though Friends has been getting VERY close to them quality-wise!)
  14. They may have made the same amount of 60390 and 60382, but maybe 60382 sells better than the other, so there is more available of 60390. Or, market research told them to make less of one because it won't sell as well. Which one is accurate, or maybe neither is true? The world will never know! Honestly, it's best not to wonder why TLG does things the way they do. Their approach to selling / designing products can be enough to drive the most reasonable, logical person straight-up insane! I hope this answers your question, @ks6349.
  15. I don't see the open hub wheels being used on the tender or coaches... maybe this signals a return to metal axles? If so, you can add that to the list!
  16. Great MOC! However, it needs a lime green mini cooper to knock it into next week.
  17. They rotate colors available every couple years. Tan went away to make room for white. Give them a few years, they'll circle back eventually.
  18. Thanks @Shiva! I have enough room in the wooden box my dad gave me my custom modular for a third floor to be added to Edna Mode's designer fashion shop modular. This third level contains her office complete with vault filled with gold, a desk with two chairs, some green kryptonite in a lead-glass case, (a gift from Batman) a old-fashioned TV on a bunch of cabinets, and a Superhero phone on printed wall piece. (these last two items aren't done yet) I only have three more days until the parts arrive.
  19. I have found 333 out of 930 parts, with 597 left to go for this passenger car project. Even if I continue to find parts, it will not be ordered until next month at the earliest. (though it will most likely be later in 2023) thoughts?
  20. @Jason Todd is my God didn't say they were revealing anything. He simply asked if it was possible they would reveal something. I hope this answers your question, @MatthewRC. I any case, I'm firmly in the camp that the rumored LoZ set (or sets) is for 2024, if we even ever get it. Same goes for the Eye of Sauron.
  21. Considering the currently upcoming sets will most likely have a two year lifespan, I sincerely doubt what you are saying is true. Also, spouting baseless rumors for people to go crazy over just for the sake of causing trouble is a good way to get banned, just so you know...
  22. The Frisco 1522 loco is a 1926 oil burning 4-8-2 "Mountain" type, (4 leading, 8 drivers, 2 trailing) that was made surplus in 1951, donated to the Museum of Transportation (in St. Louis, Missouri) in 1959, and restored to working order in 1988 by the St. Louis Steam Train Association (SLSTA) for it's excursion career. It's new lease on life lasted until 2002 when rising insurance costs made the engine enter it's second retirement, which will be probably be forever. When the engine was running in it's second career, the SLSTA had four train cars (one of these MOC's is a fictional fifth car to beef up the train's length) in it's excursion support role. They carried parts, tools, merchandise to sell, and crew members not on duty. After re-retirement of the 1522, most of the cars were eventually sold to Milwaukee Road 261 organization and were renamed and repainted into a different paint scheme more suited to that group. This may not be the best interpretation of the Frisco 1522, but it seems to be the one of the few I've seen built out of Lego. The model you see here has been my dream ever since I was 5 or six years old and rode behind the steamer on one of it's last public trips. (I don't remember much of the trip, but I do remember the sense of awe and respect for the power of steam after seeing the loco pull past us on it's journey back to the museum and into what looks to be permanent retirement.) The rear of the (newly remade in 7 wide) locomotive. The cab walls on both model and real engine have the name of the railroad (Frisco) on it's side, while the number of the loco (1522) is on the tender sides. Inside the cab. I chose the classic printed slope with the knobs and gauges seen here a throwback to my first train MOC from the early 2000's. One half of this baggage car (named 'Black Gold' after a train the 1522 used to pull) housed tools, spare parts, lubricants and a fire hose or getting water for the loco, among many other things. The other half (usually closest to the engine) had the souvenir shop with shelves and tables for fundraising merchandise selling. The car is now repainted and named 'Golden Valley'. It has been used with Milwaukee Road 261. The 'Firefly' was the crew car. It was also named after a train the 1522 used to pull. The car has been sold to be used with Milwaukee Road 261. It sits in storage currently. This coach is NOT based on any SLSTA car. It was added to the train to beef it up to normal amount of five passenger cars. It is named 'Meteor' after an actual Frisco train like the others just to look accurate. The diner-lounge 'Chouteau Club' wasn't owned by the St. Louis Steam Train Association (SLSTA), but by a private individual who was a member of the club. It now is stored / owned by Illinois Transit Assembly in Madison, Illinois, sidelined by side sill rust. The 'Bluebonnet' was a business car and brought up the rear of the train. It was also named after a train the 1522 used to pull. The car has been sold to be used with Milwaukee Road 261. It has been renamed back to it's first name of 'Milwaukee' and repainted into the proper colors for that railroad. The real engine is publicly displayed at the Museum of Transportation in St. Louis, Missouri. The Lego model of the loco is sitting on the front of the loco, just above the cowcatcher. This official Frisco 1522 website gave me invaluable info and pictures of the excursion cars and the loco itself. This page in particular was very helpful in getting the window amount / spacing / 'look' of the excursion cars right. NOTE: Yes, I had a thread made in 2016 for the loco only. That thread was last updated in 2017, and I didn't want to mess with the moderators by bumping it. Thus, this new thread was created. I hope that was ok! EDIT: 11/26/25: Revised real world photos added with fifth passenger car and remade 7-wide steam loco + tender.
  23. If this turns out to be true, I hope it is in scale with the microscale TARDIS from the Dimensions sets. Why, you ask? There was a whole series of episodes taking place in / around two Concorde's warping through time to the beginning of the ice age in Doctor Who. (Time-Flight, parts 1 - 4, from 1982) Would be neat to see if they were compatible.
