  1. Wow , just fantastic ! Having seen Zootopia quite a lot , I can say that you transmitted that model into real life reallly well! I love how the sirens are made
  2. I don't really like to see a difference between these , that's why I prefer 1x1 bricks , the don't jump out and mix great with the forum.
  3. Maybe blue would work? ( still prefer 1x1 Technic bricks) Can someone explain me this : some of the unread topics are DBG and others are LBG. Why? This was really confusing, and I mistake them for already read topics every time :(
  4. I have two favorite sets: 8043 motorized excavator. Still have a (partially destroyed) 2010 catalog with it. Got a NXT instead of 8043, still regretting it. Searching for one that isn't very high priced. 8649 Nitro Menace. Was wishing of getting it since a long time, actually saw it in a catalog and later they had it on back of the instructions. I am a sucker for Racers sets and with it bring lime, fantastic stickers and NOS bottles - I absolutely love it.
  5. Many thanks everyone for clearing the question out, I made a wrong assumption , saving money for a second buggy motor then About the bb. Finally ! Now only need to get a V2 receiver and no more overheated receivers by buggy motors
  6. I was really surprised to see such a great c-model of a small set like that. Fantastic!
  7. Have been busy with school and sport training , but some concepts did came to life in this period . This project was an accident - I simply started putting pieces together while watchning a livestream . I made high hopes , and kept going with it. I planned to make a universal platform on which the bodywork can be swapped out for another one. download LDD file If opening the file , check groups for easy analysis of the model. Major failures: Diffs. together with the m-motors they killed any perfomance hopes. Front axle. Trying to keep the clearance as high as possible , I made the axle too weak and every two minutes or so of offroading had to fix it. Design. I tried to make some sort of recreation of the early '00s sets , but failed . Win: First blue MOC Bodywork completely removable Good suspension travel
  8. This is a question that has been bothering me a long time : why the 2838 motor (pictured below) is so rarely used? Is it because of it's low torque? Or the studded outside makes it difficult to implement? Having a much higher speed (approx. 2'5 times faster) than the buggy motor , it would be more logical to implement one of those and gear it down rather than buying an expensive motor ... 3 € vs 30€ Data source: link
  9. Effectively, I received a new style battery box (the LED is of a different green and there are some small aesthetic changes in the box itself. And the most important - it does work! https://flic.kr/p/RtWEHf
  10. @Rob Klingberg Thanks for the detailed explanation, I was fortunate enough to have a broken Battery Box and asked to the Customer Service for a replacement. Both of my battery boxes (or what is left of them) are the old version (yes, I dismantled them and even modded one to fit a 9v battery) so hopefully I will be provided with a newer version. The problem was that the higher voltage batteries (1'6 instead of 1'5) weren't working with that battery box design, even without load. And having in mind my abilities to solder (50% is a fail) it was better to ask before doing something dumb. Thanks for the explanation of the batterybox circuit, it clarified a lot of things to me!
  11. Will build this later today, very compact build!
  12. Oh, c'mon - today is my lucky day : Instructions to recreate this: first place the black connector slightly offset (the minimal distance LDD allows you) , then place the axle (LBG on picture) in the pin hole
  13. The all black is amazing (you forgot - 2l axles, 3l pins and maybe 2l axle pins - which all exist in black )
  14. So , today was playing with transparency again. If you make the side cover(s) of an AA PF battery box transparent , one can see through it's bottom (the bottom is colored with a non-transparent color , see underside picture).
  15. Those tires suit it perfectly! Interesting turntable solution.
  16. It was rumoured for the fire truck to be a release of the cancelled previously 42051 set. And it didn't have pneumatics.
  17. Found a glitch while building with transparent parts:
  18. Thanks! Me after seeing it : Must have! The colorscheme is fantastic!
  19. So , it looks like I missed a lot of stuff lately. Please , could someone PM me the preliminary picture ?
  20. I don't know if anyone else noticed it ,but the new panels in transparent make perfect headlights covers :
  21. Darn , this looks so good so far ! I couldn't think that such an amount of pneumatics + PF could fit in such a small place!
  22. Finally was able the entire design progress , this project is not just amazing , it's the next level! Unfortunately , I have to agree about the looks of the tires ( I know , they are just placeholders) , but the Porsche tires look too plain on such a beast, offroad tires give it an aggressive look which meshes up perfectly with the design of the bodywork.
  23. So, recently I got new rechargeable batteries - Ni-Zn 1'6V 2500mWh ones . Unfortunately , I was disgusted finding out that my 8881 battery box won't work with them. Quickly discovering that those batteries do work in an old rc train base (part 55455c01 ) I tested the 8881 with alkaline 1'5V batteries - it did work. My question is , do I have to overcome ( solder a wire over it) this element in the circuit board ( marked with the arrow ) to be able to use these 1'6 batteries ? Image courtesy of Philohome
