Good day. I've been building this for the past 2 weeks, but haven't really succeeded. This is a model of 1991 peugeot supermini - 106. Features: -solid axle suspension on front and independent(?) on rear -Buggy Motor for FWD -BuWizz -working steering wheel -detailed interior -openable hood and doors I've been posting photo updates and got some critisism regarding it's looks without panels. I tried fixing that , but I don't want to use technic panels, I prefer the studded look of the model. One of the most problematic areas is the front not having enough slope and the headlights being slightly off. That's why I would like to ask for recommendations regarding this build, because I'm running out of ideas. Photos below, LDD in progress. The front axle is inspired by Piterx's Panda 4x4 one, but has been changed with my parts selection. Bricksafe gallery

@Error404 Well , there were some 4-digit numbers missed as well , apparently TLG follows no specific order with set numbers -
Technic 2017 Set Discussion
syclone replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
So, 42070 is the Porsche equivalent of this year, a big price , boring model, not interesting functions , the only exclusivity is the colorscheme - duh. Oh , and now color vomit frames tooThe only part I like is the b-model The 42069 looks very exciting, althought I woulde've preferred some nice purple flex axles and connectors instead of those horrible panels . The 42051 could've included PF by default, but the set seems great. -
My race car definition may not be the same as yours Technically it's quite a competitive car , maybe not a F1 , but NOS rocks
-
Is there any restriction regarding car type? (open wheel F1 style, LeMans, normal car...)

Thanks for the rules update ! I like the 62'4mm being max size of the wheels , will make great small solutions happen

The Best Lego Super Car
syclone replied to wwwmwww's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Maybe not the best set regarding gearbox , driveline and all that fancy stuff , but 8070 has great functions selection and provides a lot of red parts It should be a good base to MODs and MOCs too. Still, I don't think you will find a set that will beat 8880 , newest sets are obsolete and quite boring. Regarding MOC supercars , the Concept Car is one of the best in my opinion. -
I have voted , but the poll just dissapears and I can't watch the results . @Zero (Zblj) After reloading the page the poll appeared , but without my votes I have been noticing that for a while , all polls just dissapear for me , seems like a forum error

No, there's no point in such a category on a Lego forum. The challenge consists I'm building a Lego vehicle that can go fast, not building a bodywork. You can suggest such idea on a RC forum, let's leave Lego Technic contests "clean"

I'm not sure how my poor receiver will handle 4m motors, time will tell. Would a micro-motor be allowed for steering?
-
Yes , I can confirm that it is set much higher , I haven't experienced any problems at all with 1'6V Ni-Zn batteries and buggy motor. Obviously it's Formula E , so it's open wheel , low ground vehicles , like F1. So your statement has no sense if you look at Formula E cars because they share the same panelling characteristics and you won't see someone racing a chassis without a bodywork. And in any case , irl cars have bodywork for aerodynamic reasons, search up any racing car examples, they always have panels to make the design sleek and make as less air resistance as possible.

@PKW The newer battery boxes have bright green LED instead of lime LED when turned on , also the LED is transparent if the bb is off. (the assembled box is the new one)
-
Would be a very interesting competition , I'm not sure to understand the fifth rule , what would be considered pre-2005? only studless or there are certain pieces that won't be allowed ? The panelling idea is great , that would make people think also of light-weight body designs to increase perfomance .

IMHO these tires suit the model much better. For me the Porsche rims design looks ugly on such a great model.

IMHO the door panels are one stud too tall , but the rest looks great. Very interesting suspension you got there -

[HELP] Best Setup for Big Truck
syclone replied to itoero's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@itoero There's no limit, but if many motors are connected, if one stalls slightly the whole receiver will kick in overheating protection. Yes ,you can connect as many PF components to one battery box as you wish , but the batterry box also has overheating protection, so it would be better to use two battery boxes if possible. -

You can build a lever between both remotes to control two different sticks at the same time. -

The Technic Confessional
syclone replied to Didumos69's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Well, here's my confession : -1x 4l red axle cut to 3'5 l -8l axle broken by a buggy motor, resulted into 3'5l and 4l axles -Broken 2l pin with bush became a bush -Custom adapter for 9v battery (minizip style) from a wire off a broken motor -Broken 13l beam became a 6l beam (I broke Ir when I tried building a 1:1 crossbow) Hopefully that can be forgiven, Only one part was cut intentionally, the rest were made off broken parts- 121 replies
