In this case You could try to combine two 3speed gearboxes. Then You will get 3x3. Challnege will bet switching one of gearboxes baxk to 1st gear, when gear is changed on second. Maybe that won't even be correct way, to have smooth progression of gear ratios. But how to do that better, I won't be able to help, I'm not good at gearboxes.

Yes, front proper front lights, especially with technic parts, will be almost impossible. Don't know, but as You are using red color, maybe somehow You could use windshiled from Ducati?

One of the main reasons, lego doesn't make anything powerfull and fast, as firction causes wear, and also plastic is not so tough.

Yes, but it doesn't add to rigiditty. As I understood, @NathanR wants some connection also in the middle, to have reinforced structure. If these would be used and and, of course, cross axle used to connect them, then some rigidity could be added without connecting middle hole.

If shrinking will happen, then electronics question will be significant - do we need to keep the same electronics functions or not :) This is also issue for me, as chosen set has electronics, and I'm thinking, if it will be possible to fit them. I would like to, as it should really add to "value". But I think that keeping electronics should not be a must, but motorising set, which wasn't motorised - not sure. I think, it shouldn't. Anyway, if there won't be this type of contest, I will build what I have planned, that could be main reason, I already ordered some few parts in needed color.

Already ordered some parts for shrinking contest . Can't wait. But not started to build. OK, only made some sizing. It will be 0.73 for chosen model. In fact I have done some shrinking already. Not so exact maybe, as contest would need, but pretty close. More like inspiration for some small(er) MOCs.
