Main chassis With spring setup like this, there is some supension travel (2+ studs), but it is still pretty hard suspension. It won't be so nice like on 42005 -
42154 B Model - Ford GT40
Jurss replied to Isaac Yaw's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Front is somewhat OK, but as more to the back, it goes totally bad. I'm afraid, nothing larger won't fit there, as wheel arch is too narrow, but can't tell from that one picture provided. -

As built 42005, I was thinking, why not to build smaller version. So, some possible axle configuration was made Yes, wheels seems little too small, but don't know if more narrower axle could be made. -

If they made "realistic" suspension, they could have added also some fake shafts. OK, but then we would complain - why they didn't added fake engine. Someone about gearbox etc. :) -

I just started to think, as there are 6 wheels, you could make some kind of roofless version with some trailer and that means, that there may be some official B-model, as there are plenty of parts (those long technic bricks on side) and yes, model in picture has hook at the rear- 5,507 replies

I think, colour saturation? is wrong in that pic, and they are lbg, and the car is standard green. LBG is that thing, behind door handle on which is yellow bushing- 5,507 replies

Recently built 8069, using parts I have. Intentionally used latest tractor tires. Volvo bucket is really too big, but somehow attached. Latest excavator bucket fits well Conclusion - one of the best (if not the best) technic set. Really like it. It was on sale for 40EUR on some trade place. Now really regret not buying it. Only when building, realised, that there are some other good parts, which I don't have. -
Technic 2023 Set Discussion
Jurss replied to Dami's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It is bussiness. We, mocers, AFOLs, are not target audience (as we can build better :) ) of those sets. target audience are mostly some new customers with money, who want some good looking thing on their shelf. Me too bought millenium flacon on overall hype, when I was not so much in to this thing. Most regreted set. The same with cat d11. I didn't bought it, I was builidg with parts I have and some missing bought. I'm happy, that I didn't bought it, I really got bored building it. It was huge and good looking, and that's all. Recently built 8096, some parts replaced with more recent. I really enjoied it, and for me seems almost best technic set I've ever built. -
Tear-drop baja buggy
Jurss replied to Lixander's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Wheel centers are really far from steering center, so there is really significant lever which needs to be held by steering arm on that hub, and those connections on balls are pretty loosy, so You get everything really wobbly. That what I was talking before. Situation can be imporved, if wheel rims will be put otherway (In fact, not sure, if this is possible with these rims and hubs, will check later), and other builders have also added steering linkage on the other side also - in Your case also on front. -

The truth is - our whining here won't change anything regarding price (most probably). Want this thing to build - look for discounts, used one, buy parts missing from P&B, or search for a way to earn more. And we have this topic @Jim could move something there -
Tear-drop baja buggy
Jurss replied to Lixander's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Another thing - front suspension will not hold together, those connection between halfbeams and suspension arms. Those new 3L pins could help somehow. -
Tear-drop baja buggy
Jurss replied to Lixander's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'm afraid, it would hardly drive and steer, as front wheels would wobble etc. It will be better, if You put wheels in front otherway. -
[MOC] Kite powered speedboat SP80
Jurss replied to JoKo's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Cool project - the lego build and the original one. I was just looking at the real one, and was thinking - won't that kite lift side of boat up at that arm arrangement? Or that will be compensated with position/arrangement of fin keel? But You probably have thought that trough. -
MOC - World's largest engine
Jurss replied to Duca59's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It is good that there are only 6 cylinders, as would get tired building so much cylinders - all that repetitive build of the same thing.
