I disagree with the notion of score inflation to keep people around. Beginners shouldn't get a 5 just because they are a beginner because at a certain point their scores will start to decrease and then they will be mad that their quality hasn't dropped but their scores are. Better builders should get better scores. The top builders are examples for everyone else to see techniques and ideas, people should build up to them not down to beginners. If you marginalize the best players they'll leave and then we lose some of the "splash" value that new people see when they find an Aliencat or shmails build that is simply a work of art. And IMO LDD builds should be discounted compared to real bricks. I have a limited quantity of plastic pieces and that is further limited by color selection. LDD allows you to use any piece even if it was only ever in 1 set, you can have any color you want. If you want to have the freedom that unlimited parts in unlimited colors provides, it should be expected that you do more with it. Using real bricks increases the difficulty and thus should be rewarded.

September 2015 LEGO Store Calendar!

Overall shape is really sleek and smooth, great job. A couple minor things that nag at me are the 2 visible green studs behind the cockpit, the side holes of the technic piece by the engine and in your first render you seem to be missing the white piece at the back of the lower wing. Nice design and good use of color.

Just saw that myself. Very deserving too. His builds and stories weave great whimsy with well thought out design and execution.

33 credits to the illustrious Bob of Quatrian please.

She is a beauty! Love the greebling and the color choice. I think my favorite bit is the outline of the middle part and how by the bridge it changes shape. Great detailing.

Instantly looks SW with great shaping and color choice. Love the full interior too. I think with some minor tweaks to the turrets it could be even better. Hope to see more from you!

Nice, the rounded wings definitely give the P51 vibe and the canted tails are F117. A nice looking fighter, my one critique is where the tail and body meet it seems to dip too much. I think moving that 1x2 white tile up another plate would have been better as you just have a lot of altitude changes and shape changes in a small area.

I agree with others that it is your best ship yet. Very sleek look to it too.

Great and huge landscape going on. It really isn't until the final pullback shots you realize just how big it is. The Octanabago is a great nod to Spaceballs (was sad not to see a Barf), though I'm not sure about your choice in dating venues...

Yeah, the whole thing is great. The mining droid with the laser, the rockwork, the suit with thrusters... fantastic all around!

Very military feel to this build and the speeder bikes with their bays are well done!

Lots of cool well developed scenes and more costume changes than a Broadway play! Solid writing and humor too!

The dialogue is just genius! Eshey is certainly one of my favorite AG characters. Her bloodlust is fantastic and pombe's desire to have everyone be VERY casually dressed is awesome. Love the aliens and the Penetrator. Can't wait to see the next build from you. I also like the Deadpool-esque breaking of the 4th wall.

Hmmm... glad we have until Sept for this since there are 3 different choices. Going to have to think about which one to pick!

Great foliage and rockwork and water. Compelling story too!

Weird, I was 100% sure I'd commented on this build, but nope! I love the use of the flamethrower for everything, a man after my own heart! The snow creature is really cool, he looks very fierce and you integrated some great comedy into your story. And as a practical item I like how big his feet are so they can act like snowshoes and he can quickly get across the snow without sinking in. Great work!

[O - H09] - Be Sure to Wear Some Flowers in Your Hair
Kodan Black replied to Kodan Black's topic in AG1 Archive
Your build last week entirely inspired this week's build. I had to make sure no one thought he just bought some flowers, oh no ... -
I did not give that a try. My original plan was very much like that but the separation of the cockpits being 2 studs wide and rotated 90 degrees clockwise. I just couldn't get it to line up with the various offsets. I have almost none of the bricks with studs on the side and no offset, sadly.

I like the biomechanical thing, especially the use of the scorpion! Reminds me a lot of a Rhino-beetle. I like the mixing of the blue with the gray, really makes it stand out!

Ooohhh... Octan beach towels! Nice usage of the trans-pieces for the water and it getting lighter in towards shore. The rock in the front left feels a bit of an after thought. I think I would have either made it more prominent or dropped it. But generally a nice, relaxing build. I have to wonder how Pombe seems to be able to constantly be off at the beach though...

[O - H09] - Be Sure to Wear Some Flowers in Your Hair

Thank you, that is good feedback. I got a little overly artsy. White tiles are in short supply. I should have done light gray instead I think. I wanted to go for contrast, but ... probably didn't go as planned. -
Location: H09 Castral Tags: Science, Octan, Civil // PERSONAL DIARY // Though I'm no botanist I've been trying my hand at cultivating some flowering plants from Castral aboard the Axle in one of the hydroponic labs. I've been sprinkling Awesomnium dust on the to see if it enhances them. I've been passing off the reports as my attempt to try it out on a known species before using it on more useful plants, but secretly I'm just hoping to impress Dr. Long. ED-208 doesn't seem to like the idea of super powered plants and continues to insist on being armed. He tried to claim the white one moved and is a threat. Honestly, I think being a robot, he just doesn't like all the water and humidity. It isn't pleasant for me either, but Dr. Long has seemed really stressed out lately and the nearly naked guys strutting around the halls of the Axle can't help. Maybe some nice flowers would brighten her day. And it would help to know how the Awesomnium impacted plants for other stuff too. She has been so busy lately I haven't really managed to catch up with her much. It seems like she is never in her cabin or her office. And the labs get sealed sometimes when certain experiments are going on. I'm sure she is just really busy with all of her work. Maybe the rumors about some disturbance being detected has been keeping her busy. Extra Pics:
