[Long Entry IV - Guinevere] After a brief stay on Lesser Direstan Commander Commander once more sends me orders. I am to depart for Guinevere. Apparently Kawashita is launching a full expedition. "All hands on deck," he tells me. I arrive to a disaster. Our early probes were apparently turned to dust by M.A.N.T.I.S. forces. We have suffered heavy casualties across the board. Half of Kawashita is still arriving fresh off the boat, and those who have been planet side are already packing their bags. The plan is unclear. I have grown to expect this of Kawashita. It becomes more impeccably clear by the day that strong leadership is both needed, and lacking. My paycheck, for example, has gone missing, a great grievance - all to some man named Koro! "Grumps" tells me not to rock the boat, and I feel I must heed the advice of this veteran - this elder - though I am uncertain of his own life style. He drinks eight cups of coffee within an hour of arriving! I stick to my tea. We are paired with a man named Gnarls. He is in charge of a small military expedition which I am to accompany. No Kawashita employee is allowed into the wilderness without armed guards. I am told to investigate if we can turn the lava into gold. I feel it would be pertinent to point out that this is considered the art of an alchemist, or, rather: "magic". But I do not. "Grumps" wisely advises me to not "look the gift horse in the mouth". He accompanies us so as to avoid his other duties. There is little honor in that, I find, but he defends himself. "Pragmatism," he says gruffly. The craters of lava are impossibly hot. "Grumps" warms his coffee over them, I warm my tea. Two Kawashita builder drones build a small transmission post to monitor M.A.N.T.I.S. operations. Gnarls complains about the heat. I tell him I'm just happy no longer searching for water, as I was on Lesser Direstan. "I recommended one of my old pals for that there!" he exclaims with a sinister laugh. "I think its really getting to him. I keep recommending him for the most boring missions we receive. Just to f*ck with him." This is all too common to me. At University I often found that peers would attempt to rile up those they held closest, as they also often viewed them as rivals. I never partook in such activities. "Time to head out!" calls Gnarls. "Grumps" places his coffee mug on a stone, and I do the same. We follow Gnarls' colleague, Benny Burns, out of the craters. Thank the heavens. Fear no more the heat o’ the sun, fear the craters of lava. "Pointless mission," growls Gnarls. "Those M.A.N.T.I.S. bastards will find it in minutes." He pronounces it M- A- N- T- I- S- instead of Mantis. A strange man. I am happy to have seen the heat, happy to have enjoyed my tea, and happy to leave once more. [End Log Entry] 15 minutes later... "Found another Kawashita thing-ma-gig. Want me to take care of it?" "Clear the area," says the voice on the other end of the line... "I'll take care of it same way I took care of their drones." The Build: OoC: I'll edit in lighter photos eventually, hopefully! The week sort of got away from me - was hoping to use this as a "first draft" of this build, because I wasn't totally happy with it, but I never got a chance to really improve on it. Next time around!

For my next entry into the Andromeda's Gates Role Building Game (or RBG for short, I just found out this actually is a `common` term for this sort of thingies), I went for a build of a Listening Post to spy on nearby corporations. It`s also the first time I`m going to try and weave a story with avatar pictures, so that is a first for me... *** Start Log *** Julali 2nd, AD 3825 Thesseus B. Von Geekington reporting I find myself together with Engineering Professor Sai-Saichi on the mountainous planetside of Crentium, located on the A08 grid of the Andromeda Cluster. We where send here by The Pale Lady in order to try and obtain data on the fact if MANTIS is planning any moves in this direction after the skirmishes on Guinevere, grid location A06. Well professor, I must say, so far nothing seems out of the ordinary. Yes Thessues, that might be so, but remember we thought there wouldn`t be any movements at first on Guinevere either, but then they apparantly used some sort of stealth technology to slip through our grids and establish a foothold before our first colonisers arrived. Yeah, that was pretty sneaky. Do you have any idea if this sonic listening device of you can... It`s not 'sonic', it`s 'sonar' Right, that whotnot`s then. So, do we have any idea if it would pick them up if we did that again? Errrm eeerrmmm EEERRRMM I am afraid I must report that for the moment Prof. Sai-Saichi is occupied in all kinds of serious calculations and recalibrations. Apparently, he didn`t take into account the risk of the enemy using stealth technology, so unless they step on a branch really hard, the only thing we will be hearing here is going to be the gentle rocking of the water against the cave`s entrance... *** End Log ***

Quickly, I submitted a script back to their headquarters that would ultimately require the group to leave the planet the next day. "Hostile Conditions - no time to explain" seemed to have done the trick ;) M.A.N.T.I.S. engineers and researchers should do fine here now without any other interruptions from Octan....at least for now. ~ DD out -------------------------------------------------- Well, my first AG post! Didn't get to spend too much time on it since I joined late this week and didn't know what planet we were going for, but hey, extra points for M.A.N.T.I.S. I think I got all of the tags, location, etc. right. Let me know if I need to change something. Hopefully I will get used to commenting on people's builds here on EB, but I don't know, I may be more of a Flickr guy when it comes to that.

Desatoya Mountains Greater Direstan - 3185 Using the Less Than Zero, Koro managed to infiltrate Greater Direstan ahead of the main Kawashita expeditionary forces. He tracked the pirates he had encountered at Hamilton's Belt into a secure mountain bunker. Thanking those intrepid Kawashita engineers who invented it, he initialized his Active Camouflage and proceeded to gather as much intel as possible. Any information he acquired could be used to disrupt the pirates' plans for Greater Direstan, but more importantly he might find out who exactly is behind them... He stalks the corridors, waiting for pauses in the hum of the ventilation cyclers. He stays out of the light. He listens and tracks the patrol routes to areas of interest. He counts every minute without having to fire a shot as a significant victory. And he learns what he can: The pirates call themselves the Dust Demons. Their leader is a mean son-of-a-laser-gun that they call The Commodore. Koro files this away, along with the structural layout of the bunker and the best ways to completely devastate it before anyone even knows he's there. He imagines that after this, they'll have to call him Koro the Demonslayer or something suave like that.

Site 51 Aeristus - 3185 In the initial flyover, Koro surveyed the lay of the land. He could see the bizarre... void... where an ancient awesomniumgenerator from a vanished and ancient civilization had once stood. Koro was tasked to track MANTIS movements after a (short) time recovering and adjusting to his new prosthetics. But he had never expected to find this. He'd read the report Aeralure and Operative Q had filed about the lab they'd discovered underwater on Sorn. Everything in their description, especially the weird tile pattern marking the terrain, checked out with what he was seeing. He had to conclude that MANTIS was studying the site, trying to figure out how an ancient alien generator had disappeared on one planet and appeared several sectors away, on an entirely different planet. Koro didn't like thinking about the implications. Quantum Physics made his robot brain need beer. He landed the Zero mk II "Less Than Zero" a distance away from the MANTIS base and decloaked it. He could only keep it cloaked for short periods of time, and thankfully he'd been able to avoid any MANTIS patrols thus far. He could see their patrol fighters and heavy-duty ATVs crawling over the place, appropriately insect-like. He emerged from the LTZ in his brand-spanking-new Spy Suit and decided it fit pretty good and probably made him look cool, too. "Hey Narbilu-sama... thanks for the new threads. I look awesome." "Koro! Have you reached Aeristus?" "Of course!" "Then never mind how you look. Those credits weren't spent to make you look amazing and heroic like some kind of super space ninja. They were spent so you could get a closer look without MANTIS knowing." "Right. Gomen nasai! I'll get right on it, Narbilu-sama." Koro focused the Spy-Eye in his suit's sweet ninja hood, and zeroed in on the far away MANTIS landing pad. He noticed the Type 8 Aphid gunship... he noticed the two heavily armed MANTIS troopers... he noticed Wilhelm handing something to some MANTIS guy he'd never seen before... "WAIT WHAT!?" "What is it, Koro?" "I think I found Wilhelm, sir. He's... he's handing off a data packet to a MANTIS agent." "Well. That explains some of the security leaks we've had lately." "But this means he's betrayed us, Narbilu-sama." "Koro, don't get distracted from your mission." "But... honor demands that I---" "Wilhelm's day will come." "Sigh..." "Find out what you can about the Site and whatever MANTIS is learning. Then get out of there." "I could cut his head off and no one would know..." "Koro..." "Sigh... okay, okay. Wilhelm's day will come. Koro out." Builder's Note: So I hope the subject matter of this build doesn't step on any toes, but I felt like it was appropriate to not forget about Wilhelm as a character in spite of his player's... switch in loyalties. To have him as a traitor to Kawashita makes the most sense, but I'm leaving his fate open-ended until it's clear what Goliath's intentions are for him (if he has any, that is). In any case, Kawashita has to respond to a defection as being essentially a double-cross due to the sensitive information a defector has access to. Because this is a game, there are no hard feelings, but it does present an interesting opportunity for some solid RP drama and this build/story is simply an attempt to capitalize on that in the spirit of the game. Hopefully there are no objections to this. Thanks for looking!

Location: Lesser Drigo Tags: Spying, Science Things were not looking so good for Scorpio. His mission last week had been a complete success, other than that well, you know, he got caught. When he came to, his equipment had all been taken, and he had been put into a bright red jumpsuit. With no further ado, he had been transported to the prison compound. He assumed they intended to interrogate him later. In the meantime, he was stuck in a bare cell, under the watch of a continual guard, with food that smelled of coffee, and not even a bench to sleep on. The prison area was also on a very busy corridor, where sneering Octan would come by constantly. At least there were no rats. In place of rats, however, there were other pests. Specifically, scorpions. He wasn’t sure if they were indigenous to the planet, or if they just happened to be wherever Octan was. Whatever the cause, the hallways seemed to be teeming with them at all hours of the day. It comforted Scorpio to know that the Octans were afraid of them. Some more so than others. Scorpio had always liked scorpions—it was actually where he had gotten his nickname. Once, when he was just a little boy, his father had found him playing with one as if it were a puppy, completely unhurt. When his father had reached down to get it away, it struck at and nearly stung him. Amazed at this, his father called him a scorpion trainer. His little sister Arsenica had been unable to pronounce it and so called him ‘Scorpio’ and the name had stuck. No time to dwell on old memories, though… One nice thing about being on the busy corridor was that his cell was right next to the laundry, where he overheard a lot of juicy gossip from the Octans. Some of it was the regular workplace drama, but a lot of sensitive information was being passed around in there. That was where he had learned that while Octan had recognized his data transfer of the beryllium sphere specs, they still did not suspect that their robotics program had been hacked. As he passed yet another dull day to himself, he heard a familiar voice from the laundry room. It was Dr. Long’s voice. She was clearly talking on her phone to someone, probably some Octan bigwig somewhere. He was barely paying attention when suddenly he heard: “hrgrngrngnrgnrnStarstrikergrngrngrrrnhrgrn” Scorpio pressed his ear against the wall to hear better. “Yes, we are sure it’s him. Well, not him, but, you know, another one. Blasted door, open! No, sorry. Look, he had identification on him as Scorpio Starstriker, M.A.N.T.I.S. scientist 1st class. Yes. Yes. Uh…I’m not sure, how should I know why they would sent a scientist on a spying mission?! Okay, why don’t I just ask him, then? stupid bloody…rrrrrr! No. Okay. Yes, that would probably be the best way to do it. come on, No! I didn’t want a pre-wash! Oh, okay. I’ll put together the requisition forms and he should be ready to be released into your custody tomorrow. Fine, next week, whenever you want. Yeah. Sounds good. <click>. You cursed little..! Isn’t someone supposed to be doing this for me? As Scorpio heard Dr. Long’s footsteps he wasn’t sure if this was good news or not. Apparently he was going to be shipped off to somewhere else, but where? And what did Dr. Long mean, “another one?” Had one of his comrades been captured as well? Surely he would have known by now. Perhaps she meant another scientist? Or…another Starstriker? That wasn’t possible, as much as Scorpio wished it could be. Still, there was no time to waste, and Scorpio wasn’t going to be hanging out here any longer. He knew there were still M.A.N.T.I.S. agents operating on Lesser Drigo, but if he was shipped off somewhere else his chance of making it home was gone. He had to escape. He waited until a large swarm of scorpions entered the hall, then he would hack the electronic lock and escape in the confusion. Here they came! Now was the time! Waauuuughh! Scorpio decided that it must have been the faulty Octan wiring that had shocked him. Yeah, that was it. Meanwhile, Octan assigned him a robotic guard that was not afraid of scorpion attacks, and he had to endure more of Dr. Long’s cursing and kicking the machines. He would have to escape some other way…

TAGS: Spying, Special Operations, Military (did I do this right?) Secret Meeting Site Aeristus - 3185 A meeting was underway, a secret meeting involving leaders of three regional powers. The Dust Demons had sent Richter Jones, an unpronounceable-named local alien species had sent an unpronounceable-named representative, and MANTIS's own disgraced General Silas Moxon had also appeared. MANTIS PR claimed that General Moxon's forces were "disavowed" but that just meant HQ had plausible deniability for anything they got up to. Whatever it was, with these characters all together in one place... it couldn't be good. All had brought bodyguards except the alien, to whom it never occurred. His was a trusting species. Earlier that week, Koro had received a call from another Kawashita Operator. These calls had long been pretty rare, but first Raven and now... Beltar? "Beltar, you miscreant, you owe me money." "I do not. Anyway, there's this meeting I think we should "attend" but it's a job for two. Interested? "When do we start?" Of course, Beltar didn't mention that they'd be traipsing through air-ducts for two hours trying to locate the right conference room. These luxury ships had a dozen of them, of course. And they were forced to check every one! "You know, this wouldn't take so long if you weren't lugging around all that stupid rope." "S-stupid... rope? Stupid rope? This is why we never do jobs together, Koro. You think just because you like falling off things that you don't need rope. Stupid people think rope is stupid." "I'm gonna hang you from your feet with that stupid rope. Give you something to think about. "You just try it!" "Oh now it's on, Beltar!" "You're getting your stupid white hair in my face! Ugh!" "Get this stupid rope out of my way! Where's your wallet at, Beltar? I'm gonna take that money you owe me." "Wait, wait.. you hear that?" "You're right... we're making too much noise. We better---!" Their scuffle had jostled the duct from its supports and sent them crashing through the ceiling of a conference room that just happened to be the right one. That's when the spying mission turned into a pretty one-sided shootout as Koro and Beltar rained unsuspecting, ridiculous death upon their unprepared enemies. "Ha! Stupid rope my butt, Koro!" "Okay, yes. That worked out pretty good." "Hey, hey... we're pretty good." "Yes we are." End. Builder's Note: This scene is an obvious homage to a famous "rope scene" in the cult classic film The Boondock Saints. If you haven't seen it, google the clip in all its glory. Fair warning, it's vulgar and violent!

Location: F02, Lesser Drigo Tags: Spying, M.A.N.T.I.S, Scorpio Starstriker "At last," Scorpio grunted as he scraped along the narrow cave floor. He had been crawling over an hour, but now he had arrived at his goal, the lower utility corridor of the engineering wing of Octan's water extraction facility on F02. Operation OMEGA had begun. He had been sent to infiltrate the facility along with Double D and Isaac Redsyn. Scorpio's specific mission was to break in and steal the software to their robotics program. They knew they could persuade the robots to pledge allegiance to an opposing corporation--this had been Isaac's mission--but worried they may still continue to work for Octan. With the raw code, however, M.A.N.T.I.S. would be able to override this protocol in order to reveal all of Octan's secrets. There were also rumours Octan had discovered an incredible energy source, so Scorpio was to gather intelligence to confirm this as fact. Conveniently, satellite readings had shown high energy signatures from the same labs where the code was kept secure. Secure, hah! Having drilled an entrance into the utility corridor, Scorpio pulled his Octan disguise on over his spying outfit, and headed up into the engineering bay. What he saw he couldn't believe. First of all, the number of coffee stains on the floor. (Ugh! and they thought larvae were gross!) Second, Octan had indeed discovered a tremendous energy source. Scorpio recognized it from some historical documents--it was a beryllium sphere! Scientists in radiation gear were scanning it, while the others stayed a minimum safe distance; Scorpio guessed from the awesomnium-tipped rods that they were attempting to increase its generation potential even further. "Hold it right there!" a woman's voice commanded. Looking up, Scorpio saw a woman up on an extendable platform, staring straight at him. She seemed familiar from somewhere, but Scorpio couldn't place where. All the scientists stopped, and turned to see Scorpio. "Who are you?" she asked. Scorpio had practiced this part. "Dane Fleegman, ma'am, Octan PR. President Business heard about the great work you folks are doing, so had me sent down here to take some photos, you know, for good publicity back on Terra, show the folks how much Octan is innovating the future and all that. Would you consent to doing an interview?" Her scowl in return answered his question, although she said nothing. Not to him anyway. Instead, she turned aside and called some instructions to the radiation-suit guys. "I'll just snap a few photos of the..what is it called again?...Never mind, of your work here, and try and stay out of your way." Scorpio advanced up the spiral staircase, up high to get a better view. So far his plan was working, and within minutes M.A.N.T.I.S. would have all the info it needed. But he still had to find the secure terminal where the robotics code was kept. Then he saw, up on the platform next to the woman, a lone server. That had to be it. "Mind if I, uh, come out there? You know, to get a bird's-eye view?" She remained motionless. Just then, a call box down the catwalk rang and the woman, even more upset (if such a thing were possible) left to answer it. Perfect. It would only take a few seconds to locate and remove the proper chip, and he could then complete the data transfer to HQ en route to the rendezvous point with Isaac and Double D. Luckily enough, there was the chip inside, clearly marked. He hurriedly inserted it to his hidden radio and hit send, then began his way back down the stairs. The woman, finished with her call, came up right on his heels, grabbed the megaphone and called out, "Intruder alert! Our lab has been breached! All staff on alert!" Scorpio froze. Did they suspect him? Or had one of his comrades been discovered? The answer came quickly enough as he was suddenly heard running the woman running toward him from behind. He dodged, and raced towards the stairs. The radiation suit guys were already blocking his way. "Give it up, spy!" The woman called. "Never! I never give up, never surrender!" came Scorpio's retort. He quickly checked his radio: "File Transfer: Code name OMEGA: 13% remaining." Hopefully it would finish in time. He looked up just as he was struck from behind. He must have only blacked out for a second, because when he came to there were guards on all sides and then the woman, standing above him saying "take him away. I'll deal with him later." As she spoke, he noticed a familiar scar he hadn't seen before. The last thing he saw was the end of one of the guard's stunners. To Be Continued... ************ More pictures: M.A.N.T.I.S logo (along base) in focus, and edge of cavern area Octan logo (along base) in focus (fuzzy) overview of the whole lab Spiral staircase, upper control panel, with view of lower personnel doors Spiral staircase in focus, view of cavern area Bay doors and emergency hydrant Coffee, heads-up display, and far console Octan crew, including radiation suits and a guy who has clearly forgotten his a time or two. Raven return from Guinevere and get a call from Narbilu. I have an infiltration mission for you. What do you know of the Dust Demons? It's the pirates that's been raiding our mines and transports since we got to Andromeda. Interrogation with the prisoner that Makoto brought in earlier suggest they arrived with the same colony ships used by the companies. They are primarily targeting Kawashita and have followed our expansion with several temporary bases. Look like you are as good as your reputation, reading every rapport are you?. Only the important ones, sir. What's the mission? As you have read we know how the Demons come in. It's not likely to be via our colony ships but security have been increased. They then rapport to the nearest base and get there gear and mission. We have falsified an ID of a new recruit based on the prisoners ID and need someone to pose as a Dust Demon and get information. Koro don't have the looks to pull it of and was sent for another mission. You are our best resource for this kind of job. I'm on it, sir. I'll speak to the prisoner about background details and what to expect as a rookie. When do I start? As soon as possible, they are getting more of a problem every day. When you're ready, go to the base at Lesser Direstan. It's the only one we know of that's not blown up. Understod. And remember, you will have no backup and no communication so you can only contact us if you hijack there communication or get back here. Just like every other infiltration mission I've ever done. Raven get ready and goes to Lesser Direstan where she's ordered to immediately travel to Sorn. Without showing any surprise Raven thinks “Sorn!? All official channels have said we would stay out of there as of the treaty with Mantis. How can the Demons know we are going to Sorn?” Ok, newbies. Get in the Wasp. Training will begin when we get to Sorn. Why is it called a wasp, because it have stripes? No, it's because of the “sting” it gout in the back. What? I don't see a gun or anything. It's a drop ship. The “sting” is the soldiers coming out of it. With some work even you maggots could get good enough to jump out of it. For now, get in and shut up! Hi, I'm Trevor Sarah. Raven and Trevor shake hand. Little more is said on the trip to Sorn. Arrival at Sorn by EpsilonEta, on Flickr This time the stand in planet was made by Random-Acts-Stock on deviantart. The stars are the same by PSD Graphics. So you are the wimps that think they can be Dust Demons. Lets see if I can get you in shape before Kawashita get there hands on every piece of awesomnium on this planet.

Excerpt from the lab book of Big Sal: Date: 28 Junali 3815. Experiment Code: P0B06. Lead Scientist: Big Sal. Location: Kawashita territory, Sorn. Aim: Test effectiveness of persuasion technology. Excerpt ends. I still don't really get how it works. Ugh, it's not difficult Roberts. You know how you can persuade people to do almost anything for money? Yes... And you know how money is based on gold? I suppose... Well then, the mechanics of the Persuadomatic (patent pending) should be obvious! It vapourises gold and expels it as a mist of nanoparticles into the air. Anyone breathing it in will become easily suggestible. Yeah, I'm not sure that makes any... FIRE IT UP! 25% POWER! Excerpt from the lab book of Big Sal: Method: Using gold from Guinevere, the Persuadomatic will disperse a mist of nanoparticles into the air. Prediction: Kawashita scientists exposed to the Persuadomatic will be easily convinced to give up valuable intelligence. Excerpt ends. Stable at 25% power. Those pills we took will protect us right? Sure! Ok, I'm going in! I still think you should have changed out of your M.A.N.T.I.S. colours... Greetings fellow scientists! Uh, who are you? I'm Big Sal! The famous M.A.N.T.I...shita scientist! Did you just say 'MANTIShita'? Erm...no! I said 'mighty Kawashita' of course! Roberts, increase the power! What was that? I said, uh... 'man, I could do with a shower'! Good save... Power at 50%. Anyway, what are you guys up to here? Fill me in on your latest findings. Hmmm, I don't know about that. I'm still not exactly sure who you are? Yeah, if you're Kawashita, what's today's password? Uhhhh... more power damn it! Increasing power to 75% Hey! Dr Wu asked you a question! Stop mumbling! Ok, you got me. I'm not from Kawashita after all... I'm from the Nobel Prize committee! We've been watching Dr Wu and we're very impressed! OHMYGOD! WOOO! Oh, wow, I'm flattered! Yes, it's true! I'm here to conduct our final investigation, so if you could just give me all the details of your work... THIS IS AMAZING! Oh, yes, of course! So, this is our new awesomnium drill and we recently discovered the astounding fact that... What's going on down there? Who's that M.A.N.T.I.S. guy?? NO, HE'S FROM THE NOBEL PRIZE! DR WU'S GOING TO WIN! I ALWAYS BELIEVED IN YOU DOC! Why's he holding a trophy? Isn't the Nobel Prize a medal? ... ... ... Lemme guess? 100% power? Yup! But they've got rebreathers... we may just have to rely on my natural charm and quick wits! 60 seconds later: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! THE NOBEL COMMITTEE WON'T LOOK KINDLY ON THIS! START THE ENGINES ROBERTS! Excerpt from the lab book of Big Sal: Results: Persuadomatic showed promise but was ineffective against Kawashita troops with rebreathers. Conclusions: Why were they wearing rebreathers anyway? Sorn's atmosphere is perfectly breathable. We may have another security breach. Excerpt ends. My first go at SNOT rocks. Not entirely happy with them, but practice makes perfect I guess. Comments and criticism welcome!

Ordered by Kawashita superiors, Wilhelm has launched an expedition to The Hamilton Belt to hear any transmissions for any alien activity. So far there has been no sign of activity in the area, so Wilhelm believes. Their old Grouper TX-51Z ship, armed with some classic plasma cannons on the sides is ready to deal with any hostiles that may pose a threat to Kawashita explorers. The Grouper, of course, is inspired by the "Goliath Grouper", an ancient specie of fish found on Earth. The ship may be slow but it sure is a juggernaut and is built to last... for a while.

Location: H03 Kaalin Tags: Spying, Land vehicle Hawk had been reassigned by M.A.N.T.I.S to Kaalin to spy on and sabotage Octan awesomnium mining operations on the planet. Octan made sneaking into the mine easy. It seemed like most of their employees went to Donwarr and left the automated systems do all the work. - - - Hawk: With a well placed charge, this mining drill will fly. - pop!!! Hawk: Well that explosion was pathetic. At least it did the job. a few more pictures under the spoiler tag Thanks for looking, C&C appreciated.

Location: E01 Donwarr Tags: Land Vehicle, Military Building, Spying Hawk was given the task of sneaking into an Octan base on the surface of Donwarr on a routine spy mission. It would also let him test out the improvements to his Stalker Mk.2 spy armor. - The plan was to simply enter though a drainage culvert and hack a terminal inside the base. - Luckily for him his Badger quad was more then capable of pulling the security bars form the culvert. - Hawk: There don't seem to be many personnel in the area, this should be a pretty simple mission. - Hawk: Got what I came for. I will just be leaving now. Worker1: Ahhhh Worker2: What is it? Worker1: Do you see this floor tile? - Worker2: Yes Worker1: Do you know what this means? Worker2: Could it be the work of a MANTIS spy? I will notify the base guards! Worker1: No it's a safety violation and we could loose our jobs over it. Just call a maintenance droid and seal it up. Management doesn't need to know anything. Worker2: Ummmm....Ok. - Hawk: It looks like I will be stuck on this base for a while. A few more picture of the Badger quad - - Thanks for looking. I know the story is pretty stupid but like how the builds turned out. I am really happy with the shape and look of the quad. C&C is always welcomed.

Location: F03 - Forring Tags: Land Vehicle, Spying, Military Building Previously: Part I Part II Part III Part IV Part V Part VI Part VII Part IX On The Surface of Forring All right HT-1000, we need you to get to that High security Octan Facility and find out if the Captain is being held there. Get a move on. Yes Sir! This Speeder is cool. .... Approaching the Outer security ring. Incoming! Sir, the Octan security seems a little strange today. Pombe must've been there recently. Focus on the mission. I'm already past it sir. I've arrived at the vantage point for the gate. I see two Octan marines, but no sign of any recent transports. This looks like a negative. Copy That. Fall back before that perimeter guard finds you. Thanks for reading Part 10! Better image for the gate coming tomorrow. Edit: Better Gate Image

Location: E01, Donwarr Tags: Land Vehicle, Spying Hawk to Sal. I've located our guy in an Octan truck headed north. Good work Hawk. Stay on them, but keep out of sight. Got it. Excellent. The fools will lead us straight to their base! Hey, Sal? Yeah? Couldn't we have just followed this clearly marked road to their base? ... ... ... .... --- Thanks for reading! C&C welcome! More pics in the spoiler.

Location: H03 Kaalin Tags: Military, Building, Spying, Land Vehicle After receiving his newest spy suit, Hawk meets with the base commander on Kaalin to address some of his concerns. - Commander: What do you mean you don't like the new suit. Corporate HQ says we need them colored this way so we aren't offensive to some alien groups we might come across in andromeda. We would never complained about our suits like this back on Ice Planet. Hawk: I just think it will stick out to much for a stealth mission is all. How am I suppose to sneak into a spitting devil nest without being seen in this? Commander: Fine, because you outrank me I will give you a new mission. Octan has been placing beacons all over Kaalin's surface. Our scientist aren't sure what they are for but their best guess is they are some sort of subterranean awesomniun detecters. We will give you a Fire Beetle speeder to take out as many of them as you can. You won't even need the stealth suit for this one. Hawk: Thanks - Hawk: Base, how many of them is that now. Base: That's the twenty fifth on sir. Hawk: How many more to go - Base: By our estimates, approximately forty three. - Hawk: In hind sight, I probably should have taken my chance with the spitting devil in a pink stealth suit. - Hawk: alright base, give me the coordinates of the next target. Thanks for looking, C&C appreciated.

Location: F03, Forring Tags: Land Vehicle, Spying If our intelligence is right, the aliens should be arriving to meet the Octan delegation any minute now. Yeah. Y’know, I have this horrible feeling I’ve forgotten something… This is so exciting! A new intelligent alien species! Yeah! Alright nerds, don’t get too excited. You’re here to learn quietly – when the aliens get here, let me do the talking. You scientists aren’t properly trained in PR. But how are we supposed to study the aliens without talking to them? I don’t care. Octan needs new allies – I don’t want you offending them by asking how many kidneys they have, or whatever. AHHHH! What the-? Where did that come from?! <Do not be alarmed, humans.> That voice… it’s in my head! <Yes. We speak directly by thought.> Uh, Sal, do you think it can read our minds? Probably not… still, better keep your mind blank. That should be easy for you. Hey! Heh heh heh. Greetings from Octan Corporation! We hope to begin a profitable relationship with your race. May we ask what you call yourself? <Our name is a concept that your minds cannot understand. From your limited perspective, ‘the Five’ would be an appropriate approximation.> Hahaha, it thinks Octan are too stupid to understand numbers! ‘The Five’. My apologies, but is that the name of your race, or the name of you the individual? <It is… challenging… to explain in a way you can understand. Let us tell you the story of our race.> Ugh, I can tell this is going to take a while. <This planet was not always the toxic wasteland that you see around you.> Wait, what? <In ancient times it was a simpler place. Five species lived here peacefully. Over the millennia we grew advanced. But then a cataclysmic event occurred and the atmosphere changed. Dozens, then hundreds, then thousands of new species arose. The ground itself was colonised by these messy, primitive lifeforms that you see around you.> The… plants? <Despite our advanced minds we were unable to compete with the wildly proliferating life. Everything changed too quickly. We had evolved slowly. We were not able to adapt. As our cities crumbled, the last remnants of our races built this vehicle to house the survivors.> So… you are the survivors of all five species? In this one… machine? <As far as it is possible for you to understand, yes.> Uh… right. So anyway, Octan Corporation would be happy to trade or- <We have no interest in trade. We seek to warn you. There is one among the leaders of your Clan of Eight whose mind is more powerful than any other. More powerful even than ours.> I knew it! What? Don’t you see? They’re talking about me! Uh… but they said the Clan of Eight. Yes, clearly they mean the Council of Five, plus the current and past CEOs of M.A.N.T.I.S. I kinda figured they meant Octan… <Already this mind is starting to warp the very fabric of space and time. It must be stopped before irreparable damage is done.> Yeah, I really don’t think this is about you Sal… Nonsense! I always suspected I was special! <Humans! We told you to send three!> We did! There are three of us here. <No. We sense others. From the Clan of Six.> The Clan of Six? <Yes. The ones who take the image of the six-legged creatures.> Uh oh. MANTIS! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! Thanks for reading! Sorry it was a bit text heavy - there were supposed to be a few more photos but they didn't come out right and I didn't have time to retake them. C&C welcome

Location: B06 Sorn Tags: Spying, Military Building, Land vehicle Hawk had been sent to Sorn, away from the main MANTIS conflict with Octan, to evaluate Kawashita's presence there and to gather as much information on their activities in the area. He was sent to an unremarkable rocky island. - - The Island was designated outpost 135B06 and was left over from much earlier conflicts between the MANTIS and Kawashita corporations on Sorn. MANTIS had built many hidden bunkers around the surface of Sorn, and 135B06 would serve as a base of operations for Hawk in his missions to come. - Base AI: Welcome Agent Hawk. Hawk: Just call me Hawk computer. What is the status of this installation? Base AI: All systems operational. - Hawk: Good. Computer, arm the defensive weapons. I don't think we will come under attack from anyone from Kawashita, but it sure wouldn't be good if one of those Sharktipus's tried to find its way in. Base AI: Order received. Weapons are now online. - - Hawk: Computer, monitor any unencrypted messages on all Kawashita channels. Lets find something worth looking into. Base AI: Yes sir. This is a message I recorded earlier. I hope you find it useful. start transmission...... - They keep sending us ships to repair what is going on out there? Is MANTIS attacking our fleet? - No its something else, an unknown fleet at Crentium. They are giving our fleet a tough time. None of our other star ports have the resources to repair the new ship design so we have to send them here. end transmission...... Hawk: Thanks computer. That is worth looking into. Tell me where this star port is located. More pictures under the spoiler tag Thanks for looking. C&C appreciated.

Tags: Spying Location: E03 - Ertauq This is Sergeant C.R.A.P. I've been decrypting Octan data for 5 rotations straight. My eyelids sqeak everytime I make a programmed blink. The encryption is difficult, but the captain has been a prisoner of Octan for a month now. This might be the first breakthrough we've made since that fateful mission. I am very close to cracking the codes for security cameras at a classified octan location. I don't jnow which planet this facioity is on, but that will come soon enough. Here comes the video. They've even taken the captain's glasses. And here comes the audio. "Mr. Pangolinus. You are going to reveal the coordinates we're after. There is no escape from here." We better accelerate the morph training program. Ugh, mobile makes everything a pain. Anyway, this is part 4 of the Captured storyline. Thanks for reading.
