Location: E11 - The Fascini Cluster Tags: Spaceship Dramatis Personae: Previously: http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=139516 Currently, in the Fascini Cluster... You're unusually quiet, Eshey. Everything is numb. My brain is numb. My nose is numb. I have no idea how the events in my life has lead me to this point. And I can't remember a smell that is not flaming poop. The only way for us to escape the poop bouncer was to build this poop shuttle to get off the poop asteroid. Yes. Yes...I know. Or I think I do. Or maybe I don't really know. Let me guess...there's something that could still go wrong. Well, yes. The entire shuttle could burn up before we make it back. Afterall, the only fuel we could find is poop, so the shuttle is currently burning itself for propulsion. Of course...that makes sense. Or maybe it doesn't? I can't even tell anymore. Comments and criticisms are all welcome!

Location: E01 - Donwarr. Tags: Civil, Spaceship, Spying. Previously on Andromeda's Gates: The mark, Uplink, Pay dirt. Departure, The Gyrocube, Darksight. Chapter 7: Jade Sun. Octan, Kawashita, MANTIS… In the year since they arrived in Andromeda, they’d swept across the Galaxy taking control of anything… everything, one way or another. They call themselves pioneers but to those that were already here, grafting the space-lanes, running the boxes, working the Galaxy, they’re nothing but poachers, using their influence to buy what they cannot earn and steal what they cannot buy. Yseult had never run freight for one of the big three, That was all taken from me before they arrived… And now I’m working for one of them… Doing their dirty work. Silently, Yseult had manoeuvred Darksight around to the far side of Donwarr, a world on the edge of the Galaxy in a contested region of space that some now called ‘The Quarrel’, a block of six worlds from Donwarr to Illustria that MANTIS and Octan had fought bitterly over. It was currently under MANTIS control but all of that Octan activity didn’t just go away; planets are big and the space around them is bigger. For Octan, this region was now about what you could do without MANTIS seeing or stopping. I guess that’s why I’m here she thought. At the appointed time, the recorded mission brief played. “Yseult.” The voice began. “This is Riddaeon. You have been selected for this mission by senior executives who are concerned about the loyalty of other operatives. A new form of refined liquid mythril has been manufactured on Freegate. It is transported to Mynderis via Donwarr on a super-freighter called Jade Sun but it arrives at Mynderis without the mithryl. Our sources believe that Octan is using planted operatives inside MANTIS to intercept the shipment but we have not been able to ascertain how. We believe Donwarr may be the location of the intercept as it will be easier for Octan to get it across the border through The Quarrel. Darksight was designed for silent pursuit and surveillance. Your mission is to observe the arrival of the freighter and covertly record its orbit of Donwarr before it re-enters the anomaly for the jump to Hunston. You are not to interfere with any transfers to or from the ship. Your data-file contains all of the information we have on the Jade Sun and its schedule… Good luck.” The recording ended and the data-file opened for Yseult to digest. Once she knew all she needed to, she began recording the activity of traffic between the anomaly and Donwarr. One hundred and thirty-eight minutes later, precisely on schedule, the MANTIS ore super-freighter Jade Sun emerged from the Donwarr anomaly. Thanks for reading. C&C welcome on both the build and the writing.

Location: C04 - Aeristus Tags: Military, Building. Previously on Andromeda's Gates: The mark, Uplink, Pay dirt. Departure. Chapter 5: The Gyrocube. Gedron Briskett rapped the fingers of one hand irregularly on the table while he scanned the details on the digi-page he held in the other. Yseult sat, arms folded, opposite him getting increasingly impatient. Being in M.A.N.T.I.S., she thought to herself, seems to involve a lot of sitting at tables waiting for people to think of something to say to me. She shifted her position in her seat, as loudly and obviously as she was able to. Briskett briefly looked up from the digi-page, then promptly ignored her and went back to looking over whatever report they’d compiled on her for his benefit. “The Brawling Beauty.” He finally said with a half-raised eyebrow. Yseult tensed at the name. The Beauty was something she thought about almost every day, but talked about… never, and she didn’t like to – especially not with some ‘full of himself’ desk pilot she’s never met before. “You’re a freight pilot then?” he continued, laying the digi-page on the table in front of him. “who got caught pulling short cons on that swamp-infested mudhole…” he paused for a moment in clear belief that he was about to say something clever, “…without a ship”. He tried to let the irony hang for a moment but her ability to look unimpressed got to him before his increasingly annoying personality got to her. “Box Runners are ten-a-credit.” He continued, “What does that mad scientist think we need the likes of you for?” ‘Box Runner’ was a slang term for small independent freight operators. Hearing it brought back memories, the briefest moment of nostalgia. Don’t go back there, it was a different time, you were a different person. “How should I know?” she responded, dismissively. “You made a deal, I got you the credits back, you owed me a new bike… Now I just stick around until you give a reason to leave.” She knew that prospect would please him. “Fine.” he said, as if trying to out-scheme her, “We’ll put you though our usual pilot assessment and see where it spits you out.” A cocky smile had developed upon his face. The gyrocube was a full-rotation simulator designed to test a pilot’s ability to separate visual, auditory and gravitational sensory inputs and decide which to trust and how to react. The program’s scenarios mostly involved being in a spacecraft that was wildly out of control and dangerously close to hitting a planet, or something to that effect. Yseult sat in the pod at the centre of the device, intense concentration on her face. She’d flown through the ‘principles of spaceflight’, ‘astro-navigation’ and ‘Gate dynamics’ tests, that was expected, but freighters weren’t known for their manoeuvrability and rarely got into unstable high-G situations. This is where they expect me to fail, she thought as she felt the grips of the controls in her hands… But they never flew with me. Dragging the rear of the simulated ship round and down, the imitation ‘gravitational anomaly’ put her in a flat yaw spin with an edge of pitch climb. Her feet had countered the spin a little, reacting immediately with rudder thrust but it would never have been enough. It feels like roll but it isn’t, don’t fall for it. She countered intuitively, using the rudder and bursts of opposing roll control in time with the rate of rotation to halt the spin. Now she was cartwheeling down a rapidly decaying orbit. Briskett stood beside the operator in the control booth, a look of annoyance already on his face. “She’s arresting the decay.” The operator announced. “She’ll maintain orbit at this rate.” “I can see that!” Briskett retorted. He thought for a moment. “Blow the starboard nose thrusters.” He ordered. The operator hesitated. “Those are the one’s she’s using to stop the spin” he informed. “I know.” Briskett snapped back. “Blow them”. With the ship gently rolling on its axis, Yseult had to wait to be facing the right way every time she used a thruster or it would only make things worse. With the flat spin almost under control, she made one final burst… The simulated explosion set off every alarm and for the briefest moment, she lost track of which way she was facing. Red warnings lit up on her displays. The entire nose thruster assembly was inoperable. She checked the flight gyro. Now she was spinning in every direction. She tried to counter it but with so little control now, nothing seemed to work. A new alarm sounded “RE-ENTRY, RE-ENTRY.” the verbal warning announced. Air. Something I can work with. She reversed the controls and stopped trying to recover the spin. She put the engines into full reverse and opened the aerobrakes on one side at the ship’s rear; as they caught the increasingly dense atmosphere, the additional resistance encouraged the ship out of the tumble. With less air resistance than the rear of the ship, the nose stayed pointing down and the ship slid into a whirlpool-like spin. Opening the aerobrakes on the other side and increasing the roll, the ship soon became a spinning top of reverse thrust. Inside the pod, Yseult was trying hard not to throw up, or pass out. She watched the flight gyro as the rotation steadily settled into a rolling nose-dive. Just a little longer. She was still descending way too fast but arresting the roll, she finally began to pull up. In the control room, a small crowd of pilots and techs had gathered behind Briskett, watching the unknown pilot handle the ridiculous sequence of events she’d been handed and were responding far too positively for his liking. “Fail engine one.” Silence fell. He didn’t wait for the operator to hesitate this time. “Fail it”. Yseult felt the drop at the rear immediately but in an already desperate situation, using every Newton of thrust to halt her descent, it slipped away so quickly… There’s only so much you can do, but I won’t give up this time. She fought it to the end, every metre. The gyrocube came to a gentle rest and a tech helped the disoriented pilot out of the pod. She felt them holding her under an arm as she fumbled down some steps. She felt someone remove her helmet to see a fuzzy image of a man with a sickeningly wavy smirk stood before her. He said something but she didn’t hear it, she was busy convulsing as her body wrenched free of the tech and she fell to her hands and knees, vomiting when she hit the floor. She noticed some boots, splattered with sick, turn and walk away… Then she wretched and threw up again. Additional images: Environment. Closer view of backdrop. Control booth. Removable fold-down steps. Thank you for reading. Luc.

Location: H06 Farmolis Tags: Land Vehicle, Civil Building Previously... // PERSONAL DIARY // The Major expanded our training this week to include firearms. We went to a gun range and there were a large variety of weapons to practice with. The Major was there and he had 2 other instructors this time. I liked this better because unlike with the hand weapons training no one was trying to attack me. Dr. Allison seemed to want to spend most of her time getting to know one of the instructors instead of firing for some reason. I, however, enjoyed my time shooting! I know that as a man of science my place is in the lab, but boy is there a thrill being able to fire those weapons! Even with the Major up above me yelling stuff I had a great time. He kept telling me that your weapon is your best friend out in the field. That with "one in the chamber I'm always a threat!" Once more he was yelling from a vehicle, a small personal land walker this time. I think he might be hard of hearing actually and that is why he is always yelling. The combat shotgun was easily my favorite. It was pretty heavy and had a big kick, but boy was it enjoyable sending fire downrange. I know I'll never be spec ops, but it is nice getting out of the lab sometimes and being able to just have some fun. The one guy even offered to help me better blend in. Though it seemed like he mostly just stood in the corner with his goggles on. Extra Pics: More pics: https://www.flickr.c...2136@N04/Mn8DMT

Location: H06 Farmolis Tags: Civil Building Previously... // PERSONAL DIARY // Raylan was really enjoying his visit to Farmolis. He said that it was nice to be able to visit other planets and see the different sights. He seemed very excited when I mentioned that there were several Octansoft stores in downtown Farmolis and that they had all the latest items available. And luckily being an executive I get a special discount of 5%, unlike the usual 2.5% discount for other employees. And since I have an Octansoft credit card I get an extra .5% discount! Although the folks in accounting do say that taking a discount isn't quite stealing from the company, but it does take money away from the company that it would otherwise use to pay hard workers such as myself. So I usually don't use the full discount. I took him to the one nearest to us and he was very excited to see all the various Individual Personal Assistant Devices and other electronics. It was neat getting to see the various assistant robots too, Dr. Allison was most intrigued by the child sized model as it was brand new. I was surprised they had a chauffeur-bot in stock since there was a new version that everyone was going crazy for. I have to say it was a bit weird seeing some of the "fashion" that exists for the younger generation these days. Whatever neo-hip style they seem to be wearing just looks strange. I was a little embarassed to have Raylan see them as I felt it reflected poorly on Octan. But I think he was distracted by the various Octansoft offerings to not have noticed them too much! Eshey, since I'm currently away attending the annual Brick Fiesta convention, would you mind checking on the progress in the engineering bay? Sure, I'll head on over, sir. Oh avocados...what are you guys doing in the engineering bay? Dr. Gene Hackman was helping me develop Octan's latest patrol starship. I'm buying drinks afterwards. You're welcome to join, of course. No one will believe me when I say that the vehicle is a segway and not a starship, will they? Of course, it's a starship, Eshey. How does that even look like a segway? What?! There's a viewscreen in the engineering bay! Why did you even send me down here if you could just access the view screen in the engineering bay and see for yourself? Because, Eshey, I'm not there. I'm busy at Brick Fiesta. WHAT?! YOU'RE LOOKING AT IT RIGHT NOW!!! Hold on. Wait. Why is Dr. Hackman, an astrogeneticist, working on a seg...er...a patrol starship? Shouldn't he be helping Dr. Long with her project? Oh, Dr. Long is busy meeting with royalty of some sort. You know, part of being a famous Octan scientist and all. I figured that since now is then, we could take advantage of Dr. Hackman now. I don't follow...er...let me phrase this differently...when does then become now? Later. What? In any case, Dr. Hackman is adding DNA to our starship prototype. Afterall, if our starships had DNA in them, we wouldn't have to manufacture them anymore. They could simply breed and reproduce, reducing our overhead costs. Comments and criticisms are all welcome!

So you bought him an Octan personal assistant? Yeah, I was thinking of a way I could keep him from being lonely while I was away, running the Kawashita Underground Racing Circuit. I heard the Octan CLAPPIE was a popular model, but you were all sold out. So you bought him a FAPPIE? I'm sort of regretting that now. He doesn't seem to want to spend as much time with me anymore. You do know that FAPPIE stands for "Friendly Assisting Personal Pleasuring Indecent Entertainer", right? Sure. I just wanted something that would remind him of me while I was gone, you know? ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Meanwhile, at "Guns" on Forring... Would Master like it if I felt his guns again? YES FAPPIE!!! MASTER WANTS YOU TO FEEL HIS GUNS!!! The build above is recycled and should not be judged. And afterwards, would Master like to play another game of "joystick"? YES!!! MASTER WOULD VERY MUCH LIKE THAT, FAPPIE!!! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Meanwhile, a Dust Demon ship approaches Forring... Captain, we've arrived at Forring. You're sure the Kawashita operative is here? This is a long way from Kawashita space. Yes, Captain. Our spies have followed her here. Then prepare the crew. Yes, Captain. Hope you liked the build and story. Consider the time that I didn’t build off season, like a TV show. Fun Fact: I’m posting this more or less around the same time, down to the minutes, as my first build on AG. I've been planning a return since last year, waiting for the proper time, and VK gave me a kick in the pants when he sent me a PM awhile ago! Ah, a year went by so fast. Dramatis Personae: Thank you, Sue and Eshey, for joining me as I inspect one of Octan's entries into the mech wrestling competition for the 2016 Space Olympic Games here in Andromeda. Glad to be here, sir. Thanks for inviting me. I'm just happy that the corporations in Andromeda are trying to improve their relations. So, sir, what is our strategy for this entry? Everyone thinks that wrestling is about physical strength and technique. Isn't it, sir? That's what small minds think, Eshey. However, this entry will win by completely outsmarting its opponents. Meet Octan's big head wrestling mech! What in the av...the av...av...oh my.... Something wrong, Eshey? I...I don't believe it. I've run out of avocados to give. That sounds like something you should have looked at. It comes equipped with a giant neuroprocessor made up of 1 billion parallel quantum processors capable of handling up to 500 exabytes of information every 100th of a second. Impressive. It comes with three personalities to allow it to adapt to different situations quickly, each represented by a different face. This also offers the mech 360 degree vision, meaning that no opponents can ever sneak up on it. It can be its own friend and form its own clique. It also comes equipped with a timer and headlamps for wrestling in the dark. That's my favorite kind of wrestling. This mech is just a giant head! How can it wrestle? Sigh. By outsmarting its opponents. Don't you listen, Eshey? What about physical attributes?! Don't you ever play any role playing games, Eshey? You only have so many points to allocate for stats. In this case, all the points were put into Intelligence. No one ever creates a well-rounded role playing character. How is it supposed to wrestle with such tiny arms?! You know who else had tiny arms, but dominated its opponents, Eshey? Tyrannosaurus Rex. I think it's pretty clear that this mech will be as powerful and dominating as Tyrannosaurus Rex. Comments and criticisms are all welcome!

Location: H03 Kaalin Tags: Land Vehicle, Space Vehicle, Civil Building Previously... // PERSONAL DIARY // Mr. Drax was quite impressed with our entire operation. We showed him one of our mobile drilling rigs that allowed us to find Awesomnium veins and extract it easier than digging tunnels. A couple of our dedicated Octan employees were on hand to make sure it all worked properly. We showed him the blast doors we used to keep the whole facility safe. In the case of unexpectedly hitting a gas pocket or other danger we could slam the doors shut and prevent any issues with our operation being put in jeopardy. With the fleet in orbit above the planet I was feeling quite safe and didn't figure I would have any issues with Mantis incursions. But we were alerted to an unknown ship jumping into the system. Before we could get any ships moved to intercept though it had vanished. Luckily one of our ships security cameras picked it up, but the picture that it got was almost useless in identifying the ship. But thanks to the Octansoft "Enhance!" button we were able to improve it: And pressing it again gave us a clear look at this mystery ship: It wasn't a vessel anyone recognized and we couldn't determine what it had even done in system. We would need to analyze what path it might have taken to see if we could follow it and figure out what it was up to! Extra Pics:

Location: F03 Tags: Land Vehicle, Spying Ok, but... just explain it to me one more time... Unbelievable! This plan is like spying 101, I don't understand how you're not getting it. I've hacked Octan's computers to trick them into thinking they’ve detected a prisoner transport. They’re going to come after you thinking they’re rescuing one of their guys. Right… Redsyn here is one of our best drivers – he’ll lead them on a merry chase but will eventually let you be ‘rescued’. By using the tracking device we implanted in you we’ll find out where their base is when they take you back there. Simple! Uh… ok, I think I understand now. But why not use an actual Octan prisoner? I have… other uses… for the real prisoners. Unless you’d like to trade places with them? No sir! I thought not… But won’t they realise I’m not actually from Octan? No, they’ll never suspect it. I thought you said this was obvious, like spying 101… Don’t worry, our forces will show up well before Octan has time to find you out. This plan is foolproof! Wait… To be continued! Didn't have time to do the whole story this week. The vehicles are based on my first castle sets, 6042 Dungeon Hunters and 6018 Battle Dragon. More pics in the spoiler. Thanks for reading, C&C welcome!

Location: B05 Marphacia Tags: Land Vehicle, Spying So what information are we trying to get out of them sir? We need to know if they detected the massive explosion we caused the other day. If the Kawashita seismology lab didn’t detect the explosion, we’ll know the GATE field expanded ahead of the explosion and stopped the information leaking out. If so, we have a functioning cloaking device, we'll just have to fine tune the stabilisers. Couldn’t we just ask them if they detected it? No! If we just ask them if they’ve detected any explosions recently, they’ll know we’re up to something. We have to persuade them to tell us, preferably without even realising we’re from M.A.N.T.I.S. That’s why we’re in this Kawashita boat! Exactly. And it has to be a row boat so it doesn’t upset their seismology instruments. No point annoying them before we even get there. And you have to be here to do the rowing… I see the lab sir! Good work Stevens, bring us in. Now, this is probably going to take a lot of natural charm and quick wits, and you don’t have a persuadomatic spy suit, so let me do all the talking. It could be very difficult to get the information out of them, so prepare to witness some incredible spying. Yes sir! Ok, here goes. I guess I’ll knock on the door. This is going to be very difficult, so you’re going to have a great story about my awesome spy skills to tell your friends. Oh my… can it be true? Are you real? I haven’t seen anyone since I was posted here back in Julali! I’ve been so bored – there’s not been a single seismic event the whole time I’ve been here! Well… that was easy. Uh, sorry guy, we must have the wrong lab. Best be off! No, no, come in and have a drink, I insist! Do you like tea? I love tea! Wonderful! Come on in! I’ll just put the kettle on! This is so exciting! Damn it Stevens! Oh, I’ve been so lonely here. I’ve only had my plants to talk to, and they never say anything back. Guess that makes sense though. There are lots of sentient, communicative plant species in Andromeda actually! That’s what I told them! But they’re still giving me the silent treatment! Oh boy… Right, well, thanks for the drinks, we’d best be going. What?? No! Please don't leave, I’ve been so alone! And besides, I’ve made some food for us to share. It would be a shame if you had to leave before you try it… you could have all sorts of ‘accidents’ if try to you leave on an empty stomach… *Gulp* OK, OK! We’ll stay for some food, sure, no need for any 'accidents'… Oh, how wonderful! I’ll just go get it! Damn it Stevens, why couldn’t you keep your mouth shut?? This guy’s a lunatic! Sorry sir! Hopefully he’ll let us leave if we eat his food. I hope it’s not anything weird, or we might have to make a run for it. Fresh sushi! Made with local ingredients! … … ... Quickly Stevens! Come back! --- Thanks for reading! C&C welcome! I have to confess that I straight up stole the roof design from Bushido - Way of the Warrior by Disco86, which is one of my all time favourite MOCs. Hopefully Disco86 won't mind, as a fellow M.A.N.T.I.S. player

Location: E01 - Donwarr Tags: Spaceship, Land Vehicle Dramatis Personae: Previously: http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=129901 Currently, on Donwarr... So let me get this straight: you're asking me to beat another pilot in an illegal spaceship race? When you put it like that, it doesn't sound so great. But you have to understand she's been ruining racer participation and our profits! And as the coordinator for the Kawashita Underground Racing Circuit, or KURC for short, I needed a way to resolve this situation. I was desperate, Sue. So what exactly happened? She just showed up one day and beat everyone. No one can beat her, and she's claimed that she won't leave until she loses. All of the other racers are too afraid to take her on. You're the only pilot I know who has what it takes to beat her. Sigh. It's not like I can turn you down when you ask for help, Shaniqua. I owe you so much for this. You did have it shipped over, right? Yep, she should be there waiting for me. How much further are we? Note the road is recycled and should not be judged. Note the road is recycled and should not be judged. It's just up ahead. There! There she is. And she's stolen all the hot guys, too! Note the road is recycled and should not be judged. Ishmael? You know her? Yeah, she's my wingman at Octan. It figures. Hold on. Ishmael? What are you doing here? Note the road is recycled and should not be judged. Sir? I should be asking you the same thing. I hear you've been tearing it up on the KURC. I've always been into underground spaceship racing, sir. It was what I did before I joined the Merchant Confederacy. When I got wind of this Kawashita circuit, I couldn't help myself. I even pulled my old racer out of mothballs and fixed her up even more with my Octan salary. Well, I've been asked to take you down, and I'll admit, now that I know it's you, I'm getting a bit excited. I even brought my own ride. Then let's do it. First one to go around the second moon and back wins. Winner gets the loser's ride. I hope you're ready to lose, Ishmael. That's my line, sir. I've always wanted to take you on. Then line them up, ladies. READY? GO!!! <ENGINES ROAR> Comments and criticisms are all welcome!

Alright, sir. I've collected the evidence. Excellent, Scooter. Note: the above build is recycled. Now we have proof that my brother kicked the buckets. Thank you, brother. Anytime, sister. Scooter, prep our ship. I can't wait to show the chief accountant the results of our latest success. Gregory, come, we'll give you a ride home. Thanks for the offer, sir. But I think I'll stay to help your brother out. Afterall, I do have a debt to repay for the rescue from the Zoid. As you wish. Let's go Scooter. Yes, sir. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Later... Sir, we're approaching Arium Minor. It'll feel good to do a good old fashion exploration mission again. What will we be looking for? If we knew what we were looking for, Eshey, it wouldn't be called exploration. I'm so happy that you let me join you to help out! I can't stop smiling! Anytime, Gregory. Oh, there! That's a good spot, just drop us off on top that clifftop, Sue. Roger that, sir. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Even later... So, let's take a look and see what we see. You chose a great spot! The view is excellent! Right? Crap in a hat! Sir! There are angry alien birds headed our way! Missiles are locked on. Firing! Fox one! Fox two! Eshey! No! Those aren't missiles! They're bombs! WHO PUTS BOMBS ON A LAND VEHICLE?!?!?! Bruce designed that bomber you're flying! Why did you drop bombs on us?! They're going to detonate any second! AHHHH!!! WE'RE GOING TO DIE!!! KICK THEM OFF!!! KICK THEM OFF!!! <distant explosions> Oh my avocados. We're still alive. Somehow. I think I peed myself. There's still the matter of the angry alien birds. They're approaching fast. We're in luck! We just happen to be right next to a pair of origami paper trees! Origami paper what? Quickly, Gregory! Build us a paper shelter to hide in from the birds! On it! Great job, Gregory! Are you sure you wouldn't rather work for Octan? I appreciate the offer, but I'm quite happy at M.A.N.T.I.S.. That's Octan's loss. Hey, let's relax on this paper sofa and watch the game on the paper big screen TV. Sounds good. Did you want a paper cold one? You read my mind, Gregory. Comments and criticisms are all welcome!

Location: E01 - Donwarr Tags: Science I followed up on the probe report from last week (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=122452) and lo and behold, I found Dr. Long! She was doing just what I expected her to be doing: science-y stuff. "Dr. Long?" "Oh, hi Jebediah. What are you doing here? My extraction isn't scheduled until tomorrow. There's still plenty of work to be done!" "You've been gone for 2 months! What more work needs to be done?!" "Two months? Interesting. That would accurately explain some of the more bizarre changes to my pod I noticed this morning, as well as the missing rations and the marks of previous excavation on the Artifact... that would mean that I've been performing the same tasks every day for two months with no recollection of having done so. Huh." (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=122097) And then she fainted. "Come on, let's get you back home. I'm sure they'll be eager to check you out in the med bay... (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=122466) or at least Kodan will... anyways, you're not going to like some of the changes that have occurred in your absence. For one, Pombe ditched the Speedo." C&C welcome.

Location: H03 Kaalin Tags: Land Vehicle, Space Vehicle, Civil Building Previously... // PERSONAL DIARY // After my successful assistance in providing ice for the new executive club that CEO pombe had opened aboard the Axle I had been sent to Kaalin to operate as a liaison for a Merchant Confederate member who would be touring one of our mining operations. Apparently the person coming for a visit was an associate of Bruce Vayne's and was interested in our methods and Awesomnium processing. Given that I had recently been promoted to the 3rd Branch Executive position I was deemed a suitable choice to handle the meeting. Our meeting place was one of our primary ore processing facilities and was near the site or a memorial that had been set up on the planet for the incident tha thad happened in the nearby mines that had destroyed 217 robots and killed 2 humans. The official story was that an unexpected biogas pocket had been encountered during drilling and that a failed safety switch had prevented the robo-drillers from shutting down. ED-208 had told me that from the data files he had been able to access from the robo-drillers before the incident, there was audio of one of the humans voices saying: "Of course it is safe, hell you can drop kick these explosives and nothing would happen! Watch..." I find it very fortunate that the humans were so jovial just before the robo-driller set off that biogas pocket, that way they weren't aware of what was going to happen and weren't terrified. Sometimes ignorance is bliss! The Merchant Confederate space car was small and unarmed, which I took as a sign of the trust our corporation has established with them. ED-208 said at least this thing wasn't some dumb land vehicle that had just been dropped out of a ship. I'm not sure what that meant, but I reminded him to be polite once our guest arrived. Dr. Allison was already down below making sure that everything was all set up for our upcoming tour. Extra Pics:

Location: E01 - Donwarr Tags: Exploration, Spaceship, Land Vehicle, Civil Building Dramatis Personae: Previously: http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=125357 Currently, on Donwarr... Thank you, Lois and Gregory, for coming all the way to Donwarr to help Eshey and me test Octan's new unbattlemech. Chaaaaaachachaaaaa. Chaaachaaachaaaaaaaaaa. Thank you for inviting us! I'm so happy to be here helping you guys! I'm smiling so hard it hurts! So, where is it? What's an unbattlemech? Here it is. Sir, I think I've seen that design before from another corporation. Maybe even from two. It looks like either the Ostall or the Locust mechs I've read about. Shhhhh! Eshey, I would like to you unsee that design, unread what you've read, and unknow that you ever knew that information. Anyways, we call it the Unlocust. Also, Gregory, I wanted to thank you for making this very nice paper house for us to stay in during this test. No problem! I figured the field test might take a few days, and we needed a place to stay and relax. You're always thinking ahead, Gregory. And finally, thanks for observing the test from above. I'm always happy to help! I know I can count on you, Gregory. Eshey, are you ready for the field test? Sir? Why are there hexagons on the ground? That's the hex grid. It's always been there. In fact, every map we've ever been on has a hex grid. You've seen the dynamic galaxy map for Andromeda, correct? Are you alright, Eshey? Now, Eshey, push the movement throttle forward and start moving. Uh...nothing is happening, sir. That's because you aren't facing a hex side. You can't move between hex sides like that...at least not with the basic rules. What basic rules?! What are you talking about?! Chaaachaachaaaachaachaaaaaa. Chaaachaaaaaaacha. Chaaaaaaa. Yeah...Eshey's not the most astute employee at Octan. Holy avocados! An alien just showed up! Eshey, no! Firing weapons! <pew pew> I hit it! Wait...why is it still alive? You did five damage to its front left leg armor with your medium laser. Your two machine guns missed, which was expected, since they were fired at long range. What? What are you talking about? I'm saying that you didn't do all that much damage, Eshey. In fact, you didn't even do any damage to its internal structure or generate a critical hit. And even for someone with a gunnery skill as high as yours, hitting something at long range is always tough. That doesn't make any sense! And what are you talking about? Why did you say I only have two machine guns when I count six barrels? Chaaaaaaaaaaa... Tell me about it, Lois. At least you're not her supervisor. Anyway, you need to penetrate the armor to inflict damage to its internal structure for a chance at a critical hit. And three hexes is long range for the machine guns. Oh, now you've made it mad. It looks like it's approaching you. It's too late now, I guess you have to take it down. Try to get behind it so you can expose its rear armor. Hmm...you're going to have to work on your piloting skills. You're not even close to getting behind it. I'm going to kick it! Eshey, wait! Your piloting ski... URK!!! ...ll sucks... Chaaacha. Chaaachaaaachaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Chaaachachachaaaaaaaaaaachaaa. Your flowers aren't doing so well? Maybe they need more water. You can't water paper flowers! Comments and criticisms are all welcome!

Location: E01 Donwarr Tags: Land Vehicle, Space Vehicle, Civil Building, Science Previously... // PERSONAL DIARY // Dr. Allison had managed to predict the mystery ship's path as Donwarr. Fortunately our Octan fleet was arriving there by coincidence! While we were in the system we decided to do some analysis of the local water supply. Dr. Allison went ahead with ED-208 to one of our water pumping stations and began her work. I was glad that we were all back together and it was re-assuring having ED-208 to keep an eye on Dr. Allison. Though she had gained some field experience she was still a bit of a rookie and I wanted to make sure she was safe. Once we had collected some samples I filled a few containers and loaded them into one of our work trucks to haul back to a shuttle. I wanted to send the samples up to the Axle both for storage but also further analysis. While Dr. Allison is a talented scientist and our water pumping station had the ability to do some preliminary scientific analysis we would be best served doing a proper analysis up on the full labs of the Axle. As I was driving to the shuttle one of our fleet commanders informed me that another mystery ship had been spotted. This one seemed less like a dropship and more offensive in nature. They suspected the large circular thing at the front was some form of weapon. And it also appeared to have significant electronic data gathering capability. We'd have to be careful and figure out who these mystery ships belonged to! Extra Pics: I wanted to do one bigger cohesive scene this week. Usually I would do this as 2 separate builds but I wanted to try and make it all one scene. Part of what I like about AG is it gives me a chance to work outside my usual build style and try new stuff!

Location: F03, Forring Tags: Land Vehicle, Spying If our intelligence is right, the aliens should be arriving to meet the Octan delegation any minute now. Yeah. Y’know, I have this horrible feeling I’ve forgotten something… This is so exciting! A new intelligent alien species! Yeah! Alright nerds, don’t get too excited. You’re here to learn quietly – when the aliens get here, let me do the talking. You scientists aren’t properly trained in PR. But how are we supposed to study the aliens without talking to them? I don’t care. Octan needs new allies – I don’t want you offending them by asking how many kidneys they have, or whatever. AHHHH! What the-? Where did that come from?! <Do not be alarmed, humans.> That voice… it’s in my head! <Yes. We speak directly by thought.> Uh, Sal, do you think it can read our minds? Probably not… still, better keep your mind blank. That should be easy for you. Hey! Heh heh heh. Greetings from Octan Corporation! We hope to begin a profitable relationship with your race. May we ask what you call yourself? <Our name is a concept that your minds cannot understand. From your limited perspective, ‘the Five’ would be an appropriate approximation.> Hahaha, it thinks Octan are too stupid to understand numbers! ‘The Five’. My apologies, but is that the name of your race, or the name of you the individual? <It is… challenging… to explain in a way you can understand. Let us tell you the story of our race.> Ugh, I can tell this is going to take a while. <This planet was not always the toxic wasteland that you see around you.> Wait, what? <In ancient times it was a simpler place. Five species lived here peacefully. Over the millennia we grew advanced. But then a cataclysmic event occurred and the atmosphere changed. Dozens, then hundreds, then thousands of new species arose. The ground itself was colonised by these messy, primitive lifeforms that you see around you.> The… plants? <Despite our advanced minds we were unable to compete with the wildly proliferating life. Everything changed too quickly. We had evolved slowly. We were not able to adapt. As our cities crumbled, the last remnants of our races built this vehicle to house the survivors.> So… you are the survivors of all five species? In this one… machine? <As far as it is possible for you to understand, yes.> Uh… right. So anyway, Octan Corporation would be happy to trade or- <We have no interest in trade. We seek to warn you. There is one among the leaders of your Clan of Eight whose mind is more powerful than any other. More powerful even than ours.> I knew it! What? Don’t you see? They’re talking about me! Uh… but they said the Clan of Eight. Yes, clearly they mean the Council of Five, plus the current and past CEOs of M.A.N.T.I.S. I kinda figured they meant Octan… <Already this mind is starting to warp the very fabric of space and time. It must be stopped before irreparable damage is done.> Yeah, I really don’t think this is about you Sal… Nonsense! I always suspected I was special! <Humans! We told you to send three!> We did! There are three of us here. <No. We sense others. From the Clan of Six.> The Clan of Six? <Yes. The ones who take the image of the six-legged creatures.> Uh oh. MANTIS! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! Thanks for reading! Sorry it was a bit text heavy - there were supposed to be a few more photos but they didn't come out right and I didn't have time to retake them. C&C welcome
