  1. At least my camera survived this week! Nice build, I like your lava. I like your stories, always good humor in them.
  2. Great landscape and the building is well done too. I think the rooftop machinery is my favorite part!
  3. Funny story and I love all the various sigfig facial expressions. The little car is neat too!
  4. Oh wow. The photography is ... perfect. Your choice of background suits the colors selected so well. It has a total Asian feel to it with the dark wood and cherry blossom colored leaves. Another masterpiece from you.
  5. I like how you have the vibrant colors set against such a muted tan for the cave. It makes them really stand out. Good little story and build. Hopefully you tweak that scanner, those Mantis folks are crafty. We even found one in a science lab!
  6. Location: F02 Lesser Drigo Tags: Science, Octan, Civil, Vehicle, Ground Vehicle // PERSONAL DIARY // I filed my report about the data I had collected and requested to return to the Axle to personally debrief with Dr. Long. But she said that I was needed on neighboring Lesser Drigo. She felt like we needed a scientific presence after most of the first hand reports of Jurin II from Octan Corp personnel amounted to how warm the water was and how smooth the sand was. I, of course, was honored to be selected. I requested a GMB-02 mobile lab, but she said there were none available. I then suggested a GMM-04 mech suit, but again there were none. She assured me that a suitable vehicle would be located for my use. I knew with the importance of my mission she'd find the proper conveyance. It was a surprise to find myself driving an Octan off-road race truck. At first I thought there was some mistake, but the supplymaster who gave it to me assured me it wasn't. I then realized what was happening: Dr. Long was crafty... she was testing me! Wanted to try and throw me a curveball to see how I would handle it. Clearly she wanted to make sure I was able to be trusted and that I wouldn't fall apart at a slight hiccup. Brilliant. Admittedly the truck had a lot of power, but being the skilled driver I am, it didn't bother me at all. It did worry me that Mantis had been spotted with a fair bit of recent activity on Lesser Drigo. Dr. Long said that it would be a perfect chance for the new Executive Defender Series 208 robot (commonly called ED-208) to be field tested. The ED-208 is highly reliable and can easily identify threats. According to the message from Dr. Long. I actually thought at first she was sending me a protection rabbit because her message was a bit garbled, which seemed ridiculous. I mean, what would a rabbit even be able to do... I found it somewhat difficult to find any fauna, this might have been due to the fact that my vehicle made a loud BBRRRRRRRAAAAAAAPPPP noise from its exhaust that could be heard for a mile. Not that I would have been able to do much with them anyway since there was virtually no room in the race truck. I was able to find some plants though. And I did have my camera with me. I asked ED-208 if he felt like what we were doing was science and he said "I'd buy that for 3 credits!" I think that meant yes. I also grabbed a few rocks for our geologists on the Axle to look at. I looked for any cool rocks that I could give to Dr. Long for her desk, but all I could find was ugly brown ones. ED-208 asked me why I was looking for "pretty rocks for the stern woman", clearly the AI still has a ways to go! Extra truck photos:
  7. Great build! I love how all the aliens are going about their jobs while the heads oversee things. And that melted snow with the water showing through is really cool. IMO the best part is the little farming area though with the seedlings behind glass.
  8. The problem is that at a certain point you are judging people's skills and parts collection as part of the bonus. I think beyond the more obvious "trying to just get the bonus" type builds you have to give the benefit of the doubt. I worry that our judging system will lean too heavily towards a parts count frame of reference which makes it harder for people with smaller supplies to keep up. Using more parts doesn't make the build better. Also microbuilds get into weird territory. You could do a land vehicle with 5 pieces or a building with like 3. Does that count?
  9. I believe the tags apply to the post and not a build or picture. Otherwise you'd have to tag each picture with the appropriate items. If you show a boat in one scene and then an interior shot in another I would think that qualifies for both "land vehicle" (first pic) and "building" (second pic). But it would be good to confirm that.
  10. Love the Japanese style and the monorail. Has a kinda Jurassic Park/Disneyland vibe to the whole thing. Really nice story too. Congrats to Kawa on their first tech build.
  11. That is a lot of pictures! I like the whole story and all the visuals to go with it. The hull breach and the explosion pics are really well done. Can't wait to see the rest!
  12. Looks to be ok.
  13. Please transfer 33 credits to Bob of Quatrian.
  14. GLAVIN that is a nice build. Got a bit of SW, a bit of Simpsons... and one of the nicest Octan logos yet. I also love the colorful cube and the "looking up at everyone" shot.
  15. I like the drone, has a bit of a Matrix feel to it.
  16. Great shape on that little ship and I love the cutaway scene too. I like the detailing at the shoreline also.
  17. You sure you don't work for Octan? Great build, love the underwater part. I'm going to have to requisition myself a robot clearly!
  18. Yay Chogg! Love the hallucination bit too! Fantastic story and I like the call back to Sal's work last week.
  19. I'm really hoping that guy in the front row on the right is me.
  20. It is like World of Warcraft meets Starcraft! Cool build with a totally creepy alien. Those are some nice battlesuits!
  21. My practical mind considers the issue of fatigue when subjected to stress during duty cycles. I'm sure the Unobtanium it is made out of never fatigues though.
  22. I'm generally a fan of symmetry but I really like this little craft with the big engine on the one side only. It fits in with the story quite well.
  23. It seems rather frail with that giant open hole between the cockpit and wings area. Looks a bit like something fell off... but overall it has a really nice shape and design to it. I too find myself seeing a part or a shape and then figuring out what to build based on that. Inspiration can come from many places!
  24. I realize that it isn't visible in the first picture, but there is actually one of those circular saw things in the sink in the first picture. Also, no one seems to have noticed yet but I used a different face when he is in Dr. Long's presence.
  25. Yay scorpions! Love the undersea life in that cave. Very creepy build of the skeleton too. The story does a great job of tying it all together.
